  1. Well, my "Snake (Man) in the Grass" project file became corrupted, so I have to find the back-up disc... Anyways, I'm doing some stuff on the side. This mix is NOT going to be submitted to OCR. (Sorry, I'd never hear the end of it otherwise.) It's Ocarina of Time's Gerudo Valley in a Club/Dance style. Very basic, done in Fl Studio 8. If you have any feedback, I'm more than glad to hear what you have to say. Here's the Link: http://www.box.net/shared/ykygxfjpip
  2. Sorry, It's been awhile. 3 weeks of on-again, off-again work while doing other projects has left me feeling a little spacey... Ah, but you're here about a remix! I've fixed the EQ (I think... I've listened a couple of times, and I brought up the bass and high-end, lowered the medium range, and it sounds decent, imho.) I've added a somewhat competent ending, toned down the hats (Making ears bleed is NOT my intention) and changed some pads and percussion around. I haven't changed the pan flute or guitar yet, because I just can't find anything that works better for this mix (I'm trying to go for a clean-ish guitar) and the arrangement has been left intact because I'm batting zero on ideas (for now, anyway). WIP can be found at: http://www.box.net/shared/2abax5ddbu
  3. Oh, god... Lately I've been playing: Super Mario RPG, and Sin and Punishment (Virtual Console) Okami, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye 007 (N64) and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Gamecube)
  4. 45/50 on my first try. I was surprised when the added titles to the bottom of the quiz, only to find they didn't count. Also, it's rather easy to guess most of the titles, just type in anything with Super Mario in the title, anything Pokemon, and games that get a lot of undeserved recognition.
  5. I went for a walk and heard "Snake Eater" from a passing car. It made my day, partially because I later found out my friend (he's a bigger MGS nerd than I am) was the one driving.
  6. Sonic Unleashed. Some of the music was decent, but hearing the same battle theme 15+ times a level got really annoying. Really. Annoying.
  7. Alright, so this is my cover of Ai no Uta (Song of Love, if my Japanese is worth anything?) from Pikmin. I'm not going to submit, as it's not a remix. I'm playing Acoustic Guitar on this track, with friends on bass and flute. Strings are added on computer. Also, I can't find an accordian or decent VST, so the flute covers the accordian part as well. Enjoy! Edit: OOPS! I forgot the link! Sorry, here it is: http://www.box.net/shared/l6t8ts5i9n
  8. A mix of Sviridov's Winter Road and the MGS Theme.
  9. FL Studio 8, mainly because a friend gave it to me. It does have it's uses, though. Cons: Percussion options suck unless you use MIDI, but even then that's pretty bad. So many in-program voices rely on Sytrus, which is a little annoying. Pros: Piano Roll is easy-ish to use Auomation is easy Lots of free plugins and filters online.
  10. My friend's ringtone is the Codec from Metal Gear Solid. It's actually funny the first few times you hear it. Also, I heard someone blaring Airman's theme from Mega Man 2 from their car stereo while I was mini-golfing yesterday.
  11. I'll end up buying this game, but I just don't think it could live up to the original. Don't get me wrong, it WILL be good, just not as.
  12. That's a tough one... I'd have to say Ocarina of Time. Hyrule Field, Zora's Domain, and Gerudo Valley FTW.
  13. I played Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Gamecube) on Extreme, with the option GAME OVER IF DISCOVERED on, Radar off. I played the game in one run on the last day of school (Party in the cafeteria with a projector. w00t.) I made it through without saving, using rations or killing (except for bosses.). I did not get discovered at all other than the mandatory time (Comms Tower A). With Meryl's ending. My code name at the end was Big Boss. Every frickin' person in that cafeteria went crazy when I did it, and let me tell you that seeing 103 people in shock and disbelief is one of the most hilarious moments you can get.
  14. Star Fox Adventures. When I discovered the Arwing parts were limited. And again when I realized how epic the game actually was.
  15. I just listened to this song, and I must say excellent job! You've really done this justice thus far, and as a MGS fan, I salute you!
  16. I will laugh if this thread doesn't actually fail. Ok, so this thread is (obviously) about your first memory of playng a video game. My first memory was playing Mario Kart 64 at my cousins house when I was 4. "Quote is invalid."
  17. Thank you for all your help and advice. I've managed to find some (excellent) soundfonts and VSTs to use, and the EQ issues are currently being fixed. Only effort, time (and my insatiable thirst for insanity) will tell where this mix ends up. Thank you again, and I hope to have a completed project in the somewhat near future. "DO A BARREL ROLL!" -Peppy Hare, Star Fox 64
  18. I listened to this song after watching Advent Children. Not only did this song send shivers down my spine, you 1-upped the movie. Excellent job. "Insert FFVII Quote Here"
  19. It's not finished, yet. (arrangement needs work.) However, I've changed the percussion a bit, adjusted textures, made a (slightly) better ending, and fixed some more clipping. *phew* It's turning out better than I expected, so that is a victory in and of itself. WIP is at: http://www.box.net/shared/f81hzcdg5s "No one will listen to reason from the mouth of a beast." -Cornell, Castlevania Judgement
  20. Thank you. It's quite an awesome song in my opinion. Truth be told, the song sounds like a cross between RPG Maker and Mega Man X (4-6, back in the days of the PS1). You've done a great job, and I hope the judges will accept it!
  21. I'm really sorry to ask this, but I can't download this song! Can you help me out?
