  1. This seems to be a big Kickstarter day for me between this and FFVI. Pity I don't live close enough to attend the show itself, but I can't say no to a physical CD of the performance. I've watched some VGO performances on youtube, either from their own channel or from attendees from when they played in Distant Worlds. Best live performance of Dancing Mad I've heard in the FF concert tour so far. I hope they reach their goal.
  2. Resubbed my $50 donation from last time. I'm liking what I've heard in the youtube video. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to this album.
  3. I can beat Battletoads on the NES without using any continues or mega warps. I can beat and . I can also clear Clinger Winger in one attempt but I don't have video of that at present. Not sure how great an accomplishment it really is but I can beat all eight Robot Masters in Mega Man 9 with just the Mega Buster. I found all the Chocograph treasures in Final Fantasy IX without using a guide of any kind. I can beat the level 130 Feral Chaos at the end of Dissidia duodecim's story mode with a party .
  4. I know. I would just like to be able to replay P3FES on the PS2 without having to deal with the party AI. Anyway, I also agree on the Triforce shard hunting in Wind Waker. It's the main reason I never finished that game.
  5. Not being able to manually control party members in Persona 3 FES. And getting an automatic game over if the main character falls in battle (also applies to Persona 4).
  6. The news of a lack of live stream and CD release is really disappointing to me. These Symphonic series concerts have all been standout performances in the growing realm of video game music orchestras. I hope this all changes before the performance date as I would definitely love to hear some new orchestral arrangements of FFVI's music in particular. I can only imagine what they'll do for the encore.
  7. Good ol' Goddammit Nappa. I love DBZ Abridged, especially once they hit their stride and it became consistently high quality. The amount of dedication and effort they put into each episode is astounding. I vastly prefer the DBZA version of Frieza over the official Funimation dub, Little Kuriboh nailed that role.
  8. I got a serious kick out of the Star Fox 64 promo VHS tape Nintendo Power sent me back then, the one with the Sony and Sega guys trying to uncover the secret of the rumble pack, or something along those lines. I also liked those 12 issue long comics for games like A Link to the Past and Super Mario World they did. I would seriously consider buying those as a compiled collection (which I think they were released as, I just didn't have my own money at the time or something). I haven't read Nintendo Power in several years but it is kinda sad that it's ending.
  9. This is one of my most anticipated albums on the site at present. I've always enjoyed the FFII soundtrack and it's great it is finally getting the recognition it deserves. I'm particularly looking forward to the Battle Scene I and II arrangements, as well as the Main Theme, Rebel Army, and Finale.
  10. I see what you did there. I'm not big on fighting games but Persona 4 is one of my all-time favorite games and I've already got this game preordered at Gamestop (yay for bonus arrange CD) for the PS3.
  11. Symphonic Suite Final Fantasy Scene IV (Finale from Final Fantasy II) The majority of Symphonic Suite would probably work, save for Scenes II and VI, which would not fit in a wedding setting, as they include the boss battle theme and Imperial Army themes from FFII. The Main Theme of Final Fantasy II is really nice too. The recent is done very well. You could always loop the dance segment of the Final Fantasy VI Opera during your first dance as a married couple.
  12. The album turned out pretty well. It's not my favorite overall, but was still very enjoyable even without being a big fan of hard metal. I liked Fierce Fairground Fight, Earthrise, The Beginning of a Legacy, and If I Could Sail the World, among others. The repetition in parts of Sentient Machines keeps making me zone out so I don't really remember much of that track. That and The Last Story were probably my least favorites that I can remember after just two listens, but I did find the latter was more enjoyable than the King K. Rool battle theme mix from the DKC2 album, which immediately came to mind each time that track began. All in all, it's a good album and I'd like to thank everyone who was involved for their contributions. You guys set a pretty high bar for the FFII and FFIII albums.
  13. Long before the days of jooj and NO, DragonAvenger fought evil dragons and fiendish kings and doesn't afraid of anybody.
  14. Just bought a physical copy. From what I've streamed so far this album is going to be awesome.
  15. Who has two thumbs and is happy about what that implies? d()b This guy!
  16. Nice trailer is nice. I'm really looking forward to this album. I kinda hope Final Fantasy II and III will get similar treatment someday. They both have pretty solid scores.
  17. I voted over the weekend. I could hear the effort many put into those tracks, but if they were taken to the judges' panel, I suspect most would have been either NO'd or NO, RESUB'd. The gems really shined though.
  18. Speed Demos Archive is doing their annual speedrun marathon for the Organization for Autism Research. It's pretty sweet and it's for a good cause. Not to mention donors have a shot at winning some prizes as well as being able to influence aspects of the games being played, such as choosing what to rename the party members of FFVI. It's continuing on until Monday night. Check it out if you're interested.
  19. *Bump* I just randomly remembered this thread last night as I was downloading the new Battletoads mix. When this thread started and the 40th post remix request thing came up, I initially had something from Persona 4 or Battletoads as my most likely picks, but now that Battletoads is finally getting some overdue OCR love and I've recently started my very first Let's Play of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, I think my request would be one of that game's battle themes so that I might use it as background music when I have a montage of battlefield battles to show at double speed.
  20. A few months back, I dug out my old top-loader NES and played Battletoads and after a few playthroughs, I can now beat the game legit from start to finish without using warps or continues. I still haven't, and probably never will, have a playthrough in which I never die once. However, a couple weeks ago, I downloaded an emulator and the Battletoads ROM with the hopes of recording my gameplay for youtube as an LP, but the ROM controls are a lot clunkier and sporaticly misinterprets my commands. I managed to make it to Clinger Winger (stage with the Hypno Orb chasing you) but I have to remap the controls from my USB NES controller to the keyboard to even make moderate progress in that level. So, I love Battletoads, but the ROM is frustrating.
  21. If you like the Trigun tv series, you should check out the Trigun Badlands Rumble movie. While I don't think it's actually tied to the story in any way, it is set in the manga version of the Trigun universe, the most obvious and non-spoilery clue to this is how Vash is dressed in his Trigun Maximum outfit. Despite how many years it has been since the original anime ended, they still managed to capture the feel of the series.
  22. I was holding off on the follow-up to my last post until the thread was closer to post #40, but... anyway, I've listened to the tracks a few more times and I'd say Excalibur and Lady in the Water are my two favorite tracks. They're all good in their own ways, and Liquid Metal is starting to grow on me. It's not a style I actively seek out in my music, but I can't deny the quality of the performances. I'm looking forward to hearing what you do next.
  23. If you haven't already done so, you should check out Redline. The best anime movie I've seen in recent memory. It took them about seven years to make because the whole film was drawn entirely by hand without the use of any CG. It's visually amazing and the cast and story are engaging.
