  1. I took everyone's suggestions into account, and made some adjustments of my own. Not sure if my brief and very general explanation for what a Persona is (as far as simply playing the game is concerned) will be satisfactory. And just for the purposes of those in this thread, I linked a video of the first boss encounter in the game, with most of the build up beforehand and what happens immediately after the fight. It's very early in the game so it's not much of a spoiler. It might help make it easier to offer feedback once you have a feel for how each character acquires their Persona.
  2. Reposting for the new page with edits:
  3. Ah, I guess I should've waited. Well, I kept the specifics related to it vague enough. I can change it back if that's for the best. I think I will leave in the details of Teddie becoming playable later on though, the game doesn't make much of a secret of that detail.
  4. Well, I thought that was in the spoiler ballpark so I was hesitant to include it, but I can add that in if you want.
  5. Teddie bio: Sources: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Persona_4 http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Teddie Also, some of the game appearance information already listed in his bio page is incorrect. The original Persona 4 was for the Playstation 2, not the Xbox 360. And Persona 4 Arena was also on the Playstation 3 alongside the Xbox 360 version.
  6. 1) Vyse (Skies of Arcadia) 2) Proto Man (Mega Man) 3) Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes)
  7. I can write a bio for Teddie from Persona 4 if no one else is already on it.
  8. I'm glad someone brought up the Skies of Arcadia Legends Gamecube port. It's the only version of the game I ever played, so I'm grateful it was even made because it's a truly great RPG. One of my top five favorite 3D RPGs. But it's such a shame the audio quality suffered so much. Already been mentioned but the PSone ports of FFIV-VI and Chrono Trigger on the Anthologies and Chronicles collections. Load times and audio issues mostly, but Final Fantasy V suffered the worst with that absolutely horrendous translation. I'm probably going to be in the minority here, but I do not like to play Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. Holding the 3DS while playing that game makes my hands cramp up for starters. I don't really like the control layout for it and I've accidently turned off the 3DS by mistake twice while playing because I was so used to using a button to access the equipment menu. The graphics overhaul looks great, but I do not like playing the game.
  9. Well, I do make my own Let's Plays, presently going through Final Fantasy IV (thanks for the plug, OA). My commentary has been improving over the course of this game in particular and I try to be both entertaining and informative as I feel those are the most important qualities to anyone doing a Let's Play. My favorite Let's Player is HCBailly. He does RPGs and goes to great lengths to reveal strategies or secrets, sometimes even glitches like the extra Crystal of Darkness in FFIV. He's also pretty entertaining. I learned a lot about Final Fantasy IV and V that I ended up implimenting into my own Let's Plays of those games from watching his videos.
  10. A very short, but very sweet take on the title theme to Persona 4 Arena. I loved the sax usage in the second half. This arrangement would fit right in with one of the live Persona concerts. Here's hoping this leads to more Persona 4 ReMixes down the road, Arena or otherwise.
  11. I finally finished listening to the album and to say that I was impressed with it would be an understatement. I remember a time when OCR would release a three or more disc long album and I would maybe only keep between a quarter to half of the tracks on my computer after listening to the whole thing. I don't see that happening with this album, the whole thing is just that solid. It really shows how much OCR has grown and just how high the bar has been raised on quality arrangements. Thank you very much everyone involved for all the work you've put into this album.
  12. Happy Birthday, OCR! Here's to the site that provides about a third of all the music on my hard drive. Looking forward to many more years.
  13. While I'm sadly not presently playing P4G due to lack of Vita, I do wholeheartedly approve of any effort to get music from Persona 3 or 4 given the OCR treatment.
  14. The website says it can only be streamed in Germany. I'll have to wait for someone to upload the concert to youtube sometime after the show.
  15. I'll most likely dig out my Doctor Who costume I didn't get to use last year between being sick and part of the costume not arriving on time.
  16. I'm really liking the idea of Sonic CD getting its own OCR album, it's long overdue. I don't have any musical or artistic skills to offer, but a possible title came to mind while looking over the thread: Mobius Curve. Basically it refers to Sonic's figure 8 dash that is an actual Mobius Curve, but also the name of the world Sonic is from in the earlier games/tv shows/comics is also called Mobius (granted Sonic CD takes place on the Little Planet, so that might not apply so much). The artwork could feature a close up of Sonic's figure 8 with corresponding "Past/Future" style signs on opposite points of it that say East and West instead. Anyway, it was just a thought I wanted to share. Regardless of whether or not it's found appealing, I wish you guys luck in completing the album.
  17. Speaking of Final Fantasy V, I've learned in my most recent playthrough of the game that using the Magic Lamp item to summon Odin can instant kill certain bosses, including a component of the final boss. Also, using the Chemist's Combine/Mix command can be really broken depending on what items you put together. A Phoenix Down and a Dark Matter can be combined into a single target instant death attack with 100% accuracy (as long as the enemy is susceptible to instant death skills). It really comes in handy against King Behemoths in the last leg of the final dungeon. Following that, the optional super boss Shinryu can be made into a (relative) pushover by using the Time spell Quick and then combining two mixtures that blind and berserk the boss. Throw up Golem for the stray accurate physical attack, and you can pretty much take your time with it.
  18. Congrats on a job well done. When the day comes when I have to update to a new computer, I'll be sure to take advantage of these torrents to restock up on all this great music.
  19. Aw man, that was enough to make me take the plunge for an upgrade to $100. A pity I was at work when it happened. Oh well, at least I got to hold a copy of the FF4 album for a little while, and it's not like I don't already have the music for that and the Sonic album already downloaded. This was definitely a smart move and I'm eager to see what the final total will turn out to be.
  20. They managed to reach their goal. Looks like they're pushing for a double disk if they make it to around the 40,000 mark. I really wish I could afford to donate enough to be able to request arrangements from a game/series of my choice, I'd go for something from Phoenix Wright or Battle Hymn of the Soul from Persona 3. I'm glad they managed to break $30,000 and hopefully they'll see another surge of support in the final 24 hours.
  21. I downloaded it earlier today off the PSN. I missed out on it during the Saturn era so I got to play it for the first time a couple hours ago. I like it so far, though I definitely need to practice with the flight controls. The soundtrack is fantastic.
