  1. I don't think that was hijacking the thread XPRT. I agree with you. :)

Going back to Magfest, even though I had a great time doing everything i could I found it a little strange that the people who have made a name for themselves doing game related videos had more people at their panel than the people who were responsible for making the games.

  2. I'm only on 4 gigs and it plays great with a GTX460. Very smooth and i have only encountered some pretty severe server lag at times. Unlike 1.0 that had a lockup everytime I walked into a room.

Only a few hours left before the servers are taken down so get your time in while you can!

...plus you know, there's catchicks n' shit!

  3. I don't know any of y'all but I'm going to the OCR server. Didn't play 1.0 so I'm not obligated to any past server.

I will be Lalafell. I will cast nuclear bomb meteorites and they will call me Galcien. Or Galcienn, if necessary. Shall we go to Tonberry or does it smell like galka?

Oh GOD dont get me started on Female Galka. That's going to be the most underplayed character in the game.

1.0 chars dont come back until phase 3 anyway so everyone is in the same boat right now. Which is trying to figure out what to do while squinting through a sea of blue names. The first combat quest is so overcamped it took me 20 minutes to do what should have been less than 5 but the game plays extremely smoothly even with 50+ people running around you.

  4. Hurdy Gurdy AWWW HELL YEA!! Though I don't see some of these as unusual as meteo says. Though maybe it will be in a few more years when everything is digital and every song has french compression and every listener is braindead from the constant dum-chick-dum-chick-dum-chick-dum-chick-dum-chick... I mean repetitive rhythms.

It seems there is not nearly enough Erhu on OCR. *hint hint*

  5. I thought the 360 did have backward compatibility, but it sucked really bad?

They never got around to emulating the games I really cared to play again since they went by how many units of a game were sold. Then they scrapped the whole thing. I still can't play my TJ&E III!!!

  6. Just ran the benchmark that went up today. On medium I have a 12800 something and on maximum a 9700 something. Both extremely high marks or so the benchmark says so i think i'm set.

Also it looks like yoshi p is not pursuing f2p with this game. I'm not a huge fan of people flocking to a game just to play it for 20 minutes while they spam the chat panel either but this is going to kill the amount of people who will play it. I remember when they decided to start charging the subscription fees and a month or two later they closed half of the servers.

I was hoping for a pricing plan close to planetside 2 that offers subscription and micro transaction but it looks like that might not happen. yet. I guess yoshi p still thinks the game will get by on the Final Fantasy name. :)

  7. I got legacy because I forgot I was paying for the game.

This was more or less what happened to me as well.

I'll come clean, i played this game since launch. I'm not sure how much time i'll have for it but I plan on playing the beta in a few days just to see how the game is.

When the servers come up let's get organized and play together! Airships and Catchicks baby! Airships and Catchicks!

...you'd think other games would have picked up on this demographic by now wouldn't you? :)

  8. True story, however I prefer the Wii Classic Pro controllers via usb interface to the 360 controller. If you can't get ahold of a 360 controller, just get x360ce on the internet and configure your device that way.

saw this too late. my bad.

I picked up a 360 controller and even though the game was fun with a keyboard it's amazing with a controller.

OCR Racing would be great but the friend invite seems to not work. Maybe it's because I have no one on my friends list on steam but that's beside the point. The point is... no maybe it is.

Though I wish they would have included some wayto mute the other players. Every game has had someone with their mic way too close to their speakers and filling the game with tons of feedback and distortion. ...and some of these trash talkers. Watch out for this guy named Loki he did nothing but talk trash for a solid hour nonstop. and it wasn't even the entertaining kind of trash. Just the annoying nerd kind. :)

  9. To hell with this holiday! 2 Chocolate covered strawberries for five bucks my ass! Get some chocolate and a package of strawberries. Total cost: 5 bucks. But you can have like 20 of 'em. No wonder there was a recession...

Still, I love you guys. Happy Valentine's Day!

  10. ...Heck, who's to say NES and SNES won't have another surge after the epic fail of next-gen? :-P

You mean those games people are playing for free on their PC's? Well I guess I'd be the one to say they won't have another surge. But i'm not gonna. Because I still like some things to be tangible. Like my copy of Sonic 2. :)

As much as I love Steam it's wrecking my game budget. Instead of saving up and buying one game i really want at a time, I just wait for the game to age a few months then get that and several others on the next Steam sale. :) So instead of buying one for $60, I end up buying 6+ games for $80. That's how they getcha!

  11. Everyone - also, as I mentioned earlier, I am looking to add a few more remixers to the project to do some 'alternate/additional' remixes for the bonus disc. I have a few in the works now, but I would like to add a few more. PM me if you're interested! Thanks!

What...if.... remixers of the same zone on opposing soundtracks team up to do something extra?

Yes i'm popping this just to try to collab with Willrock.

    :-P

  12. I don't know why they bothered with a ranking system at all in this game though. You can go from last to first with a well placed shot or blowfish. Or someone else's.

Most of the time though I find myself getting RAPED and becoming the victim of drones, Ice and rockets usually all at the same time. It's still a lot of fun just please turn down your mics if you start getting upset. Nonstop F bombs and this game don't mix well.

    :)

  13. the only people that they would be affecting besides the gamers who play used games, are places like GameStop. And honestly, with the way GameStop treats its customers at times (not always, but I've heard more bad than good)

In my small ass town we have a small ass mall that somehow has two gamestops just a short walk from each other. It's been this way since Gamestop first came up from the ashes of Software ETC and a bunch of other game stores I could care less about. Well, i kinda miss Babbages i think it was called. and that other one....Electronics.... Boutique .....i think.

So anyway, one Gamestop has the best damn employees that i've known by name for the past 7 years and have always done a great job and have no problem talking about even the dumbest game related conversations i can come up with. While the other one has always sucked ass no matter who they have hired. EVER. Some freaking DUMB ASSES have been hired in that store too lemme tell ya! (one chick thought it would be a really funny joke to threaten me about stealing my credit card.)

If the used market died I guess it would kind of suck knowing that some decent people who worked at Gamestop for the past several years might be facing some hard times but if the VG industry can get away from that movie industry crap of a game only having a few weeks to make all the money its going to before the used market takes over then I think it would be a step in the right direction. Videogames aren't movies!! And shouldn't be mirroring Hollywood! damnit!

Another half drunk rant from a guy with the same name as a fish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gar

  14. I just picked this up on steam to kick off a weekend of nonstop SEGA binging and it's the best racer i've played this generation. I had no idea it was going to be this good.

After all the years and a near complete stop to all real SEGA games it's good to what Nintendoes SEGA still does better! yea, that's wit right there!

  15. Wow damn, some immaturity from a half decent potential. I'm shocked. Not everyone who works on Streets of Rage remixes are this immature. :)

The only remix I have submitted so far was a Streets of Rage mix that i worked on for over a year before it got No'ed. (I still dream of getting it resubbed at some point). It sucked but it wasn't a huge deal. Listening to the version I subbed now i'm glad it got no'ed because it was AWFUL!

On a postive note, if this mix came this close to passing then i'm getting all my stuff subbed NOW. :) or in a few more weeks of work.

  16. Interesting style for the video, wasn't what I was expecting.

"...the steel drums remind me of, sand!" got a few nyuks out of me.

Given how subjective VG music love is I wouldn't want to call something like this a review. Where do you draw the line for such a review anyway? Without getting into music theory or sound design aspects which don't appeal to everyone, it just becomes another personal opinion on youtube and not really a review at all.

If you kept the rhymes going though I think it would be worth a five minute watch.

good luck if you decide to make more.

  17. The first Witcher is one of my favorite RPGs ever. I'm working my way through the second one, but it's not capturing me the same way.

I picked up both games back over the summer and sunk 40 something hours into the first one. Some of the most god awful combat and busted dialogue i've ever seen in a game but for some reason i loved it. It was probably the soundtrack.

I'm a few hours into the second one and the changes they made to it are stunning. The combat is not perfect but on the plus side i've died several times trying to figure out what i need to do. Mass Effect didn't kill me once! I'm tired of player pandering! I want to die once in awhile! ...but not in a Dark Souls having your finger nails pulled out kind of way!

As for the score of the second one I can't say a whole lot yet but it doesn't seem to have the folk influences of the first one. More like generic film score music that is getting too common. Hopefully that won't be the case for the rest of the game.
