  1. Now if only they'd pass the Super Dodge Ball tracks in queue...
  2. And the two of them never remixed anything ever again. Seriously though, congratulations on getting one of the most thankless jobs on the internet.
  3. Not any creepier than Itagaki referring to ALL of the female characters in Dead or Alive as his "daughters" while at the same time putting them in situations with sexual undertones (DoA Extreme Beach Volleyball, anyone?)
  4. Just as a note: GameCube and GBA games are included in this sale too.
  5. Let's see OCAD on Arecibo Radio. Sex up...I mean, talk to n0c. He'll set you guys up.
  6. Sorry, but Gary Hoey has built his entire career out of , and his version is definitive.
  7. I think if you went with that and the video card I linked (because there isn't one included), you'd be in business.
  8. For an extra $50-$60 I'd go with an nVidia GeForce GTX 460 (in fact, here's one on TigerDirect for $125 after rebate). It is commonly considered one of the best-performing video cards on the market for the price, and it has DX11 support. I recently bought one and can vouch for it being a great performer with all of the games I've used it with: I can crank up the settings pretty high in most games. But DuSK isn't looking for a video card anyway, so this is pretty useless isn't it? Anyway, I'm a diehard fan of AMD processors (I personally couldn't care less for their video cards though, ironically,) so that's where my main experience comes from. If you go with AMD and want to come in under budget, you may have to sacrifice a bit and go for an AM2+ board as opposed to an AM3. I actually have an AM2+ board with an AMD Phenom X4 9750, and while it's locked and can't be overclocked, it's extremely serviceable with the games I've played: GRID, DiRT 2, Bioshock, Mass Effect 2, F1 2010, City of Heroes in Ultra Mode (which is notorious for being a CPU and GPU hog,) and some low-end games. Windows 7 also boots up startlingly fast; it's almost practically ready as soon as the desktop pops up. You might be able to go with something better since you're not looking for a graphics card or power supply, but the Phenom I will do the job.
  9. You can actually fix the controls thanks to some Ocarina codes. Unfortunately, you need the Homebrew Channel to use Ocarina, and Retro should've added Classic Controller support in the first place, but it is something that can be fixed by the player. Also, the island theme has been there since the original Donkey Kong Country. Not sure where you're getting the feeling that it's more of a "Crash thing" when DKC1 and 3 were both set on tropical islands.
  10. Thanks Coop for making the post I was going to.

  12. This is a great one that needs to happen more. Also: GameJams: http://www.cheshirecatstudios.com/GameJams/ This Week in Geek: http://thisweekingeek.net/ C64 Take-away: http://c64takeaway.com/ (kind of in the throes of coming out of a lengthy hiatus) Into the Score: http://intothescore.blueandbrownbooks.com/ (no new episodes in awhile, but it's definitely worthwhile to peruse the archives) VGM Decibel: http://vgmdb.net/cast (no new episodes of this one in awhile either, but still a great listen)
  13. I support this show and you should all listen to it. It's great fun!
  14. Are OCReMixers bad enough dudes and/or dudettes to arrange Machinae Supremacy's awesome Jets'N'Guns soundtrack, or are you too scared? http://machinaesupremacy.com/music/jets-n-guns/

  16. Clearly, this post is flawed and wrong in every respect.
  17. Hey guys, I'm commandeering the Arecibo Radio stream in about 30 minutes to do a show that won't have much of any video game music. It's tentatively called, originally enough, ROCKFUEL. If you're one of those people who listens to stuff other than VGM, you should probably come join us in the chat. I will take requests!
  18. Xenogears? Hardly. It's an RPG made by Square, and it was released on a console with more permeation worldwide than Radical Dreamers was. I considered Armored Core as well, but then I realized that it's a pretty big franchise with a billion zillion games across many consoles, so SOMEBODY must be buying them (even if it is only the two biggest AC fans I know, AnSo and ZioMatrix, buying them repeatedly.)
  19. I kind of wish I was there to witness it, because that sounds pretty fucking awesome. Lame, but awesome.
  20. I think Radical Dreamers might be more obscure than Super Dodge Ball. It was never even released outside of Japan, and over there it was released for a satellite add-on that not many people owned in comparison to the number of people who owned a Super Famicom. Hell, RD might be even more obscure than Teen Agent outside of Japan.
