Well, imo, if you were to add some sort of effect to the drums after you boost them (I wouldn't know what to use), it could still sound a bit jazzy. Or, if your drums are Virtual Instruments, then I would add a bit more "stagger" to them.

I use USB keyboard, and I haven't noticed any lag, unless I am using the Microsoft GS Wavetable MIDI interface. I just let my DAW run the MIDI, not the Microsoft GS.

Yeah. I finally got hold of the source. I agree, this needs to be remixed.

Needs a more broader sound library- Add more instruments to the mix! If you are on your hands and knees here, then if Garageband is VST-capable, you can go out and find a good set of VST effects. Also, your Apple pack will be very useful if it is a VST format (,dll), but I don't think it will... If you are going to eventually upgrade to a better DAW, then a VST instrument can be used there as well. However, an Apple jam pack is probably made up of Apple Loops, and I only know of one other DAW (Besides Pro Logic) that can use apple loops. Good: Very close to the original, with out sounding like a MIDI rip. You do have deviation with your sound, too. I like that. This could work out to a very good mix. I like. Bad (Not much here- that's good!) : Like the first line says, needs more sounds. Also, the background synth is repetitive from the beginning to the end. You can either switch it out for another synth, or change up the pattern a bit. Overall, pretty solid. It is a bit low-Q, but, not your fault, right?

both halc and Snow are right- there is something missing. but I can't seem to find it. I have to disagree with snow - I like the Major/minor switch. ...! What if you were to boost the bass at the end, starting with the break. also, make the sound... broader somehow? Maybe it will work. that's my 10¢.

I think that I will put this on the back burner for now- that doesn't mean that the projects off, just that it won't be MY priority for a while - I know that there are a bunch of running projects right now, and not everyone is ready for another one.

I know what you mean- i have whole folders full of unfinished projects just because I can't find any good face-value with them... Maybe if I just posted them up, I could get some guidance with them.

I can't answer fully, but I think that it involves an overdriven saw with a heavy flanger on it.
