  1. Hey, you already got YOUR praise last week! Wait your turn til next time
  2. OMG I HAVE NO IDEA!!! When I was compressing it into a .zip, I was like wow, this is taking forevWHATTHEHELLTHISIS100MEGS. Really, I have zero explanation for it. Maybe it's the grooviness or the soul. It could even be both. And you're in touch with flashygoodness? Man, I can't even get the time of day out of him. I've tried to contact him about his methods, but no such luck. Tower of Heaven theme 5ever <3
  3. Well, of course I made it pretty colors n stuff. I wanted to make it beautiful, just like the listeners <3 I don't think your project needed any more attention to detail, though. What you did in that project file, it... I... uhh... it more than suffices. My bad My project file alone is over 100 MB for some reason. I'm trying to hold off on the unbridled praise til the voting is over. Must... not... influence... votes...
  4. If it worked for you, then it clearly is a problem on my end only. In fact, when I posted that message, it was after loading the .flp on my desktop for the first time, so there's something going on with my desktop, I suppose. I was about to post a scathing admonition, but then I realized that you escaped your childhood without falling into an infinite Kaepora Gaebora loop. Nice work!
  5. UM, MY PROJECT IS SCREWED UP. The first track in the playlist labeled "<3" in yellow which contains a sample called "noise" is super messed up. I have no idea why it's like that. I checked my project file on my laptop, and it's as it should be -- just a sampled noise wave I made. Not whatever weird-ass squelchy thing is in my project file in the .zip. :/ So what do I do about this, Jason? Want me to send you a new project, or do we just advise everyone to vote on my .mp3, not my project file?
  6. Oops I guess I left Edison in there... anyway, I didn't even use it to create the remix. The reason it is in there at all is because I was showing a friend how Edison autodetects loop points, so I used some random mixer track as an example. Looks like I never took it out. So yeah, please do not use that when casting your votes It was just an oversight not to take it out after showing my friend some Edison stuff. Again, I didn't use it to write the tune, so I operated within the confines of the compo and all that.
  7. YOU BeTTER HAVE APPLIED EVERYTHING I TAUGHT YOU IN REMIXING WITH THE STARS i will listen and i will find you
  8. I'm all for the sharing of project files, to take it a step further. Looking directly at the product of someone's methodology is the next best thing to watching someone create that product in real time. A WIP may not be your best work, being that it's unfinished, but there's still plenty of criticism to be made that would probably remain valid once the project were to be completed.
  9. o: Excellent album. Next time you need a remix done, you know who to ask ;o (ecto. you should ask ecto)
  10. Move to Indianapolis and expand our already ridiculously large OCR population
  11. - Make it past the 2nd/shittiest year of dental school - Regain the 20 lbs. of muscle I put on last year and lost after a brush with accidental Ambien dependency & withdrawal - Keep body fat below 10% while gaining this muscle - Regain the muscle in the same timeframe as I did the first time (unlikely to happen) - Get 4-5 remixes accepted by OCR - Win a tournament/gauntlet compo or be on a winning team - Get paid for music/write for a game - Continue my compositional services for Maddox/be his buttslave - Expand my improvisational ideas and styles on keyboard - Finish album for Ubiktune or at least finish several more tracks I GOT THIS. These two can be done AT THE SAME TIME! Other Indy OCR people = Ben Briggs, halc, InSixFour/Miearth (he's moving to Kentucky soon), and Antonio Pizza (have not met him). Another Indy friend of mine just joined, too, under the name Jehm Faulkner. And I've got another music-y friend here who writes killer, jazzy FM chiptunes, but he's not on OCR. Fun times ahead, man. Whenever you want to chill
  12. I have no issue with including SliceX, but the point of the compo, as I understand it, is that you can only use plugins or samples from the demo version of FL which does not include SliceX. So if we're going to be purists, no SliceX. If we're going to be pragmatists, SliceX. I vote for the latter.
  13. OK, so I actually got a solid minute and a half done on my track today. It's sounding excellent Chemical Plant Zone. Yeah, FAUX VASECTOMY is going to do all Sonic remixes. So what?
  14. Right, look at my edit I seriously have no idea how I misinterpreted the conditions so much. edit: You posted that before I posted my edit. I'm done with cognition. It's just not my thing anymore.
  15. My brain is broke'd. How does the theme preclude Mega Man robot master themes? edit: Please forget I said anything. This never happened.
  16. I'll be a star if I'm needed. Otherwise, nose to the grindstone for me... busy weeks ahead.
  17. That Kamen stuff seriously blew my mind. It's so clear to me now that everything I thought I knew was wrong...
  18. Hope I can finish my track this week I'm spread too thin at the moment, unfortunately. It might work out...
  19. Seriously, man. I just looked at your project. There's some black magic in there. You should record a livestream sometime. I'd love to see your sound design and mixing process.
  20. I don't understand the allure of blocks, but then again, I didn't really get into writing music til FL 10 came out
  21. Dammit, I want to go to this, but more than likely I won't be able to stick around MAG long enough to pull it off D:
  22. Oh my god, you had me at Dungeon Keeper 2. My hero <3
