  1. I like this. I can't say anything for the technical aspect as I know nothing about it, but it sounds good to me. Hope it makes it to officialdom, but I am downloading even if it doesn't.
  2. Quite love the lyrics. Agreed with the judges, the background music needs to have some more variation, maybe a couple of instrument only transistions
  3. Thanks all. I have several songs over the eleven minute mark now to try. Hopefully I can manage to make it through one of them at some point.
  4. I am attempting to go for the Ninja Legend achievement in Audiosurf, and I am realizing rather quickly that I don't have any songs that meet the requirement. So are there any songs on this site that are over 11 minutes long?
  5. Has some very interesting elements. I am going to Audiosurf this one as is just to see how it goes. I think the middle section where it is mostly the source melody could use a running harmony in the background. Something that just goes all over the place but stays in harmory. No clue if that makes any sense. Just my two cents worth, and take with lots of salt as I am not a 'musician'
  6. I am preetty sure that song has already been remixed. In fact I think I even have two of them on my computer at this moment.
  7. TOTALLY SECOND I played this game so much. It took just a few seconds of listening to the music for me to get knocked into the far past.
  8. The Great Journey. It really does sound like epic roadtrip music that you hear in a lot of movies. Definately a win in my book.
  9. I don't even know what genre I would classify this as. Its fun to listen to. Slip it into your playlists as a good 'genre transition' song.
  10. Agreed with South Pacific Islander. This is a what?!!!!........ I was reading the introduction to this piece and was thinking "Uhm this is video game music. What in the world is DJP going on about?" So much for knowing my vgm. I feel dumb, but in the same moment I think it totally awesome to learn what this really is. Anyway, the 'Tetris' song is amazing to start with and Vurez takes it too a whole new level. I think I have all the remixes of this song that this site has put out. Thank you OCR staff for canonizing this song.
  11. I have never heard of this game before and have never heard the source before, but I couldn't resist downloading this one. It is so much fun to listen to.
  12. I like this one. I heard this music a lot as I was one of those people that actually tried to scan/land on every planet in the game. This remix gives the source way more power and emotion, not to mention its extremely nostalgic as well.
  13. Agreed with the other posts. This is a fun tune that does well with an extremely short source.
  14. What media players do people use to listen to the songs from this site when playing them on their computers? Is there a good EQ setting to get the most out of these songs? I know that varies from person to person and from song to song, but is there at least a midline? I use WMP with a 3 speaker system.
  15. Nice and mellow. Songs like this make a nice change to the stuff I normally pull off the site. I didn't look at what song had been remixed, so halfway through the song I had this sudden realization of what the source was, and promptly downloaded it. Although I could see this song being more upbeat like the source, it really truly gets rid of the repetitive feeling of the source. I like this better.
  16. Dude Zircon I have a bone to pick with you. I can't stop listening to this song and its your fault. It was running through my head just now so I had to get on the computer and listen to it again. Anyway that is all I have to say. Amazing work.
  17. This song captures the mood of Outset Island really well and its fun to listen to. That should be all you need to justify downloading this song. This is one of those odd cases where I listened to this remix well before hearing the actual music from the game. Its sort of a weird reversal.
  18. So I played the preview of this one to refresh my memory for this post, and couldn't bring my self to cut the song short. I just sat here and listened to it. Really well done. My room feels way more open and full of wind when this song plays. The Derrit was totally accurate in saying that a non gaming person who had never heard the source, would really enjoy this piece. Wonderful work.
  19. I like this one. Its much better than the source and feels more urgent. This is one of those ones that is really fun to Audiosurf for those that do that.
  20. :lmassoff: Is this the same theme as Bubble Bobble for the Commadore 64? I laughed sooo hard when I listened to this song. Cheers to DjPretzel for creating this insane piece.
  21. Totally Agreed. Somebody please take up this challenge. A megarace album would be even better, but I will settle for one totally awesome remix. Nonamer: what does 'right equipment' entail? Is this something that could happen in the next few months, or do you have to get all the parts of 'the right equipment' which could be a long time.
  22. Ok correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Weird Al do a cover/spoof/parody of this song? I see the whole discussion about it not being a System song, but it doesn't bother me either way. I think it would be hysterical if Weird Al did indeed parody it, since it wan't a mainstream artist that wrote it.
  23. Could I interest someone in attempting a Super Mario Sunshine remix? Biano Hills, the FLUDD user instructions, and Noki Bay would be good together me thinks. There are lots of songs from that game though
  24. Am I right in thinking that the Russian Roulette randomly picks songs from the site? Would it be possible for someone to write a gadget for iGoogle that linked the Russian Roulette or did the same thing as the Russian Roulette? I found the one that shows the most recent remixes, but I need something more random.
  25. I agree with several people who have posted already on this song. You can't not listen to it. You also can't stop listening to it, or fail to take notice of it when it does play The first time I listened to the song the pauses in the melody nearly drove me crazy, but then I couldn't stop repushing the play button on the song again and again. Awesome work. Pure and simple.
