  1. With titles like Spore and Starcraft 2 coming out, PC gaming is doing ju-u-u-u-ust fine.
  2. You are welcome to slice up any of my mixes, whether they be on OCR or removed.
  3. I have two identical drives in my system and I constantly back up to the second one manually. I don't trust software simply because I've heard horror stories about them not working. I also get new drives in my system yearly. The warranty on a drive is usually about 3-5 years, this is also about a hard drives life expectancy, etc etc i'm going to preach some more about backing up Lets put it this way. Would you pay $50 to have your data back? Pictures, WIPs, stuff that can't be recreated? Good, then pay $50 for a new drive and prevent that from being necessary. i MEAN it guys
  4. You'll have to use a tool such as Partition Magic to resize the existing partition and create a new one - but I strongly recommend against doing this WITHOUT backing up first. If it crashes in the middle, you're screwed.
  5. http://compo.thasauce.net/compos/view/OHC One Hour Compos at ThaSauce! Last week we had a decent turnout of 12 people, the system is set up to handle more so come participate! We meet up every Thursday at 5 PM Pacific, 8 PM Eastern to create an original piece. Compos run for one hour and are themed. This compo is open to everyone, from aged veterans to first time mixers. You are given until 15 minutes after the hour to finish up and get your song uploaded. You are welcome to create something original or remix pre-existing work, the purpose of this compo is to encourage practice and skill up. You may remix in any program, but please only upload MP3 format encoded at 128kbps or less. Voting ends one week after the completion of the compo. You are welcome to come to #thasauce on irc.enterthegame.com during the compo as there will be a crowd there. These compos are themed, but there is an extreme shortage of suggestions. Please feel free to suggest what you would like to see in terms of themes!
  6. Please remember, you're challenging someone to remix this song because you want to hear it mixed. Please don't request something impossible or over-remixed. This is your chance to get your favorite under-remixed song some love! I'll start off requesting Labrynth Zone for Sonic 1. http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sega/genesis/s1_labyrinth.mid -- Plenty of source midis of this over at http://vgmusic.com. http://www.zophar.net/download.php?file=gym/sonic.rar -- Here's the original in GYM format. You will need a winamp plugin or program to play this, available at http://www.zophar.net/utilities/gym.html ... good old Zophar's.
  7. Thanks for the props, bean. Now for the obligatory self promotion...
  8. Just a reminder, signup ends tomorrow night at midnight. So if you're hesitating, on the fence, undecided, whatever, time is running out!
  9. So get i the kitche ad make me a sadwich. Also, no boobs (or boobies as the case may be). For alas, no unmod.
  10. I'm super jealous of the owners of existing OCR shotglasses. They're freaking gorgeous.
  11. he's already back in, sum1 move this to help and n00bs kthx
  12. It was programmed with future systems in mind. It's kind of ridiculous, really, considering it chokes up the best systems out there. Then again, nowadays I can run Quake II at 150FPS. I'll suggest RAM for an upgrade, since the jump from 1 GB to 2 GB is significant, to me at least.
  13. Yes, but you'll remember me forever and spread stories about our epic "hug"
  14. I'd really like to attend an after-VGL party if anyone in the area is willing to host. I'd like to host, but I'm coming from way out in Folsom and have a tiny apartment. I can bring Rock Band though. Any suggestions?
  15. I've had a similar problem before.... but I don't know if this will help you. Using an older ATI card, when changing the monitor from a CRT to an LCD or any monitor to a different model, the XP splash screen would show, then go blank. I discovered that booting up in safe mode, uninstalling the monitor, rebooting normally and reinstalling the ATI drivers fixed it. It was very obnoxious, since I had to do this every time I changed monitors.... and she had shipped me the computer by itself for repair, so I had to guide her through this process when she got it back. Maybe you can try something similar?
