  1. Excellent choice! I do think that track was actually first used in Digital Card Battle, I'll check and put you down for it.
  2. I've marked Rexy and Tuberz down! Chernabogue, just let me know the exact Digimon game you want to remix, since there's lots of them on PS1 (Digimon World 1, Digimon World 2, Digimon World 3/2003, Digimon Digital Card Battle, Digimon Rumble Arena) and they all have great soundtracks EDIT: I'll try to post more awesome ps1 soundtracks later, there's tons of stuff I forgot in the first post.
  3. Since I loved Legend of Dragoon, I may approve it (like I did with FFT) as long as you don't remix a source already covered on ocr
  4. Digimon would be great! Lots of awesome music in PS1 Digimon
  5. I was thinking about FF Tactics. It has 2 remixes on OCR but both from over 10 years ago. And it's Hitoshi Sakimoto. So if anyone wants to claim it, I'd be willing to allow it. As for the FF games from the main series, no can't do. There's enough FF remixes on OCR + there's an FF9 album coming out. EDIT: Poof! As soon as I said FFT was ok, it was claimed. xD
  6. So, I originally wanted to run this album last year, considering the Japanese PS1 release was December 3rd 1994, but I got caught up in Futebol Arte and decided to postpone it for this year. European and North American release both happened in September 1995, so September 2015 is our target release time! Album Concept: This album will serve to highlight some of the more overlooked PS1 soundtracks! Which is why there are some limitations on the sources available: You can only claim a source from a game that has 1 or 0 remixes on OCR, though I may approve games that don't fit this criteria on a case-by-case basis One claim per game, so claiming a source is equal to claiming a game Game DOESN'T have to be PS1 exclusive, but ports are not allowed Claiming multiple games is ok, but have in mind that you may be taking a spot from somebody else Sources from games that have more than 1 remix on OCR are allowed if part of a song that has at least one source with 1 or 0 remixes Tracklist: Alundra - The Legendary Zoltan Brave Fencer Musashi - The Legendary Zoltan Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back - Rexy Digimon World 2 - Sbeast Digimon World 3/2003 - Chernabogue, Tuberz McGee, Furilas Gradius Gaiden - Ivan Hakštok, Wild_Cat Gran Turismo - Ivan Hakštok, WillRock Gungage - Ivan Hakštok Klonoa: The Door To Phantomile - Detective Tuesday Legend of Dragoon - jnWake Persona 2: Innocent Sin - Yami Ridge Racer Type 4 - Jorito, Xarnax42 Space Invaders (PS1) - Trev Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - ExperimentalSoundLab Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - Tuberz McGee Suikoden 2 - Jorito, JoyDreamer, Lauren the Flute, Trev, XPRTNovice Tekken 3 - Tuberz McGee Vagrant Story - HoboKa no WIP basic WIP substantial WIP near completion completed wav received Deadlines: I don't wanna impose strict deadlines for anything except the final cutoff date, but I don't want people waiting until the last moment to work on something (like I usually do ). That's why there are only two deadlines: WIP deadline - May 7th - by this point you need to have a midi or half of a song or drums or rhythm guitar or anything, just to show me an idea of your remix. Final deadline - July 1st - This should give both me to check it and the OCR staff enough time to evaluate. Some game and source suggestions: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon Tekken 3 Brigandine: The Legend of Forsena Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters Vagrant Story Soukaigi Koudelka Lego Island 2 Digimon World 2 Come on people, grab the tracks and let's make some awesome music!
  7. I'm almost done with mine. Me and Snapple almost convinced Sixto to enter Btw, I think streifig said the listening party is friday evening, after mag prom.
  8. Reminder! 3 weeks left! Start working if you haven't already! Here's the theme song for this month:
  9. There's this track by Abreu that was on DoD back in 2012: http://dwellingofduels.net/dodarchive/12-10-Free_Month/05-AbreuProject-MM4-Dive-DoD.mp3
  10. This was waking me up during high school: These days it's just a plain regular alarm.
  11. I'm pretty sure it was either the Crash 3 warp room theme ( ) or Cortex' theme ( ) on bass.
  12. HOLY SHIT! I really seem to be having lots of luck with compos this year! Thanks! And also congrats to Sir J and Timaeus!
  13. Not so sure about these, there were songs with chopped up/reversed parts in the past iirc but they also had some other parts played live. I'll forward the questions to streifig
  14. I'm waaaaay ahead of you, already got 3 minutes of midi. I need to make up for last year's 14th place Live part can be in as many takes as you want. I usually record my leads in sections, so I end up with around 10 recordings anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds in length. And I see no problem with looping a live part if it's long enough, but it's always better to ask the people in charge (https://twitter.com/dwellingofduels or on the forums: http://dwellingofduels.net/forum/index.php) And yeah, collaborations are more than welcome. In fact, last three MAGFest compos were all won by collabs. I'm expecting lots of great entries!
  15. Sup, I made this today in 3 hours because I remembered it's the PS1 20th anniversary. Featuring some of the most known PS1 games! Youtube: Soundcould: https://soundcloud.com/haki-1/playstation-1-medley Download: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93696675/ps1medley.mp3 I don't plan to work on this any further. Just a small tribute to the best console ever
  16. I'll help with the spamming! And I promise I'll dance in my room during the listening party!
  17. So, here are the Batman Month results! As for the next month, it's DANCE MONTH! Get your finest swings, discos, rock 'n' rolls, or maybe even EDM! (hey, as long as you have a live instrument or vocals, it counts!) So remember the rules, main instrument must be live. Songs submitted for this compo will be played during the DoD listening party at MAGFest, so expect lots of people dancing to the sound of your music! I don't know about others, but that's more than enough motivation for me to enter!
  18. Sequencing is putting in notes, combined with any automation or midi events. Processing is applying effects such as eq, compression, distortion to the instrument. Anyway, I'm guessing the sound you want is palm-muted guitar. I've read the Strawberry Guitar manual and it should have a palm muting articulation (http://www.orangetreesamples.com/download/StrawberryUsersGuide.pdf).
  19. Are you talking about the lead or rhythm tone? And are your problems more related to sequencing or processing guitars?
  20. If you mean orchestral brass/cymbals, there are some included in the free sonatina symphonic orchestra - http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/
  21. I've accidentally misspelled dungeonmans in the email subject line xD Hope you enjoy my song
  22. I was wondering when you'd show up around here! Welcome! OCR peeps, look out for this guy
