Something else that I almost forgot to mention is the reverb response of the headphones.

I proceeded through the following headphones:

    Sony MDR-7502 (~$40) -> ??? (forgot)(~$60) -> Shure SRH240A (~$60) -> Grado SR-60i (~$80) -> Beyerdynamic DT-880 (250 ohm) (~$400, but 51% off, so ~$200)

How I would describe them is the following:
Sony MDR-7502 - Hugely lacking in bass and treble (honestly, above 1000 Hz was terrible); didn't pay attention to the reverb response here
Shure SRH240A - Rather washy (with reverb), lacking in bass and upper treble
Grado SR-60i - Less washy, clean bass, crisp treble (somewhat hard for bass mixing, though)
Beyerdynamic DT-880 - Just dry enough for some excellent clarity, well-defined bass (loving it for bass mixing), distinct treble (so I can tell the difference between 14000 Hz and 18000 Hz, for example)

So if you can, I think you should test the headphones you want to get on a song with a lot of reverb to see how much clarity you get. This aspect of headphones could change the amount of reverb you want to put in your music. If you can't test it... I wish you luck on that!

Yeah, M 'n' P's 2 week remixing time is pretty generous considering the amount of work it requires. Otherwise, there isn't really anything that offers more than 2 weeks. Tournaments usually give just one week. Then there's always the One-Hour Compo.

RWS is on a short hiatus, but MnP's and PRC's absences from the calendar appear to be oversights.

Yeah, but those were spin-offs.  I think people expect more consistency out of the main numbered series.  Add a "Tactics" or a "Crystal Chronicles" or whatever and people don't expect it to the the same sort of game.  Heck, it could be something instead of a game entirely (i.e. a movie).  But the "core experience" should mean something.

That would be pretty darn tricky.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps a "generation ship" left the Milky Way before the conclusion of ME3 and thus escaped its ramifications. Then this could be centuries later but still be unaffected.

The story has to leave the Milky Way because 1) that's the only way to escape the galaxy-spanning effects of ME3, 2) they hadn't explored very many stars, but they had explored all the mass relays, and 3) the developers felt like they already filled out the "map." I personally think it'll be good to get away from the political structure of the first trilogy, and get into a galaxy with new, powerful races. There will still be echoes of those politics, but they'll be in control of only the local government and not the whole galaxy.

AHHHHHHHH the new characters are so good.  If you haven't seen the reveals yet, make your way to e3.nintendo.com post-haste, because spoilers abound below......

    ......(filler).....

Lucas is really good, and probably the character that makes the most use of B-reverse momentum -- alas, the Magnet Boost technique appears to be gone.  I assume Zap Jumping is out as well, but forgot to check.

Roy actually feels slightly different now!  It's Fox / Falco instead of Marth with a different sweetspot.  This is a great step in the right direction for the character, and those of you feeling like we didn't need a 3rd swordsman, I can assure you that the slot isn't a waste.

And lastly....holy balls Ryu is fun.  He has completely different attacks based on how long you hold down the button for each of his grounded normals.  This gives him roughly 2x the amount of normal moves for any other character.  Full list below:

Neutral:  jab (into strong-->fierce for AAA standard Smash combo) or Roundhouse Kick.

F-Tilt:  St. MK or F. MP (the overhead punch, which destroys shields in Smash as a substitute for "beats blocks")

U-Tilt:  Close Jab or Standing Strong.

D-Tilt:  Cr. LK or Cr. MK

All of his special moves also increase in damage based on how long you hold the button down....and all of them except Down Special (the focus attack) have a special "EX" version that can be activated by performing the appropriate motion from SF2 and the A button (note:  B button works also, but Ryu _can_ use specials with just the normal punch button).  So 236A is the Hadoken, 41236A is Red Hadoken (only usable via motion), 623A is Shoryuken, and 214A is the Hurricane Kick -- which gives a nice rising boost if used for recovery.

Lastly, all of the standard SF combos function -- Cr. LK --> Cr. MK --> Fireball is a thing, and Cl. Jab --> Standing Strong --> SRK works as well.  The character feels like there was MUCH more work put into him than they needed, and it makes the future of Smash DLC look very nice indeed.

    Thoughts?

With OCR around, I hardly ever feel the need to buy music.  I pre-ordered History Repeating.  Money damn well spent.  Their lyrics are cheesy but often clever, their arrangements are a lot of fun, and their playing is fantastic (listen closely to the guitar solo in Annihilation of Monsteropolis--most guitarists just sort of smush their fingers all over the strings at that part, but they hit every note.  I finally understood "hammer-on/pull-off" outside of Guitar Hero once I saw this live).

If only they'd write faster.. I believe they all have full-time non-music jobs, so I get it, but man it's hard to wait years between each of their albums.

Maybe it's a temporary caching thing, but it looks like deleted posts in "Remix Comments/Reviews" show up in the remix comment summary section.  See http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR03139and http://ocremix.org/community/topic/41084-ocr03139-doom-helljam/ , with timaeus222's experiment in getting ampersands to appear (was post #3).
