  1. I've heard good things about PRS, my dad dropped his jaw when he found out my cousin got a job there Other than that, I don't know much for guitars. I'm more versed in basses, really. Actually, question for any guitarists: I can tell tone differences between a P-Bass and a Jazz Bass pretty easily, does that come up for you guys too?
  2. Me and my gf haven't had the problem but I've already seen a majority of my friends have to restart games.
  3. Hey! People! DO NOT SAVE IN THE OUTER RIM OF LUMIOSE CITY. A GAME BREAKING BUG FREEZES AND FORCES A RESTART IN ALL GAMES RELEASED THUS FAR.
  4. Forgot it in my original post, but ProJared! He does some good reviews for new games, funny reviews for old games, and sometimes just funny skits
  5. Not to mention releasing for a 2 year old handheld console compared to 7 year old home console. It's difficult to give an arbitrary value for success, since quantity will almost exclusively favor home console releases, also the time since it's release is different. I'm certain someone out there has an algorithm based on decades of game sales data to solve this problem.
  6. I usually watch The Completionist, JonTron, and Errant Signal. I sometimes watch Extra Credits, but their format seems to have become a little thin lately. I used to be a fan of the Game Overthinker back when he was more philosophical about games and talked on not-controversial subjects as an opinion piece, but recently it's just been "here's my view on the latest controversy also watch 10 mins of me sword fighting my brother on camera." Also, as of late they haven't been big about games, but I gotta mention Loading Ready Run, which provides content almost every single day and it is spot-on comedy every time, and its rife with game humor and other subjects like magic and movies.
  7. Well, he has good picking technique, good fretboard movement, and he knows the fretboard by the musical alphabet (which confused me because he barely knows what a note IS, but it's a good trait nonetheless). And frankly, about the ranting, right now it's "rant about everyone who is apathetic to actually learning music" time I mean, my brother is an okay guitarist and he has purchased several books and taken a few lessons from me about theory, as well as memorized the circle of fifths, and I jam with him very well. It took me two hours to learn one of the other guys songs because he would always show what he played on his low E string, not the actual root of the chord, which doesn't help when 3/4 of the time it's the open E. Also, he never kept rhythms and when he played stuff like triplets, I had no reason to expect it and he wouldn't know what he did wrong. (yay ranting!) (also probably gonna stop ranting about it here because I don't know exactly HOW on-topic this is)
  8. I'm not sure about if that is a major mechanics change - I think what they tried to do is mix Pokemon with low catch rates into earlier routes to give a bigger sense of difficulty. I use the Absol thing and Snorlax on Route 7 (before the SECOND gym) as examples.
  9. I've been feeling this a lot lately. I recently joined a band as bassist with this excellent self-taught guitarist, but he doesn't know what a scale is, what a semi-tone is compared to a whole tone, what quarter/eighth notes are, or even any chord names besides major or minor, even though he only plays blues type chords. I ask him what rhythms to play and he can't even tell me so he tells me to played around with it. So I wing it and he gets pissed that I can't "feel what I should play in a song." I might be a slave of sheet music, but a good musician should know what is making something sound a certain way at a basic level (not physics-wise, but music theory-wise) and should be able to communicate it, or at least have the desire to and the drive to learn it. Communication is a big part of creating music.
  10. Gonna leave and get it with my gf oh man I am pumped up I'm gonna vomit when I turn on my 3DS
  11. Tons of other mega evolutions are out, so I'm curious if ALL final evolutions get it. Other ones include: Pinsir Heracross Houndoom Scizor Manectric Banette Honesty, I have gone past hype and have entered the astral plane of hypitude and have achieved critical hype.
  12. Gonna agree with Bleck. I don't enter Zelda expecting a great story. Ocarina of Time wasn't a great story, it was a MacGuffin quest with basic "but thou must" dialogue until you save a princess. Majora's Mask only succeeded because it's "story" was more like a book of good short-stories with one slightly bigger story that isn't much more noticeable than the short stories. Wind Waker survived on it's visuals and it's charming characters. TP had pretty much no leg to stand on, I think the story and the game were really empty, and Skyward Sword just...I don't even know. It was okay? It felt the most like an actual story, with Link seeming most human in that game. I'd venture to say the best story Zelda game is A Link To The Past. Anywho gonna get my girlfriend a Wii U for Christmas, what games do I get? WWHD is a definite
  13. The Wii, for its first year or so, was focused on proving it wasn't a gimmick, so if they added GC controller support it would have reflected poorly on Nintendo. That said, the GC controller is my favorite controller ever so I wish they didn't do that.
  14. Gamestop in Fruitland, MD is giving away posters, don't know nothin about quick balls
  15. what if we get the game and all the graphics are different from the leak and all the stuff we've read is wrong and all the early cartridges were a completely different game from what we'll get on Saturday?
  16. Pre-ordered X just for Clauncher. Might make my first playthrough a Clauncher only run.
  17. http://scottsbasslessons.com/welcome This guy has hours of free lessons on youtube, and he definitely has chops. He taught me the useful of focusing on modes for feeling changes, how to walk, and he has a few funky groove lessons. As for groovy basslines in songs, a good place to start is ska. Ska bands are usually ignored for their goofiness repetitive songs, but something you can always count on is catchy bass. Here are some examples (even though Streetlight isn't really ska they're going here anyway.) Streetlight Manifesto - Forty Days: Suburban Legends - I Want More: One Cool Guy - Double O Shoe: (solo at 3:28 is good)
  18. Unfortunately, I couldn't really help ya, but if this becomes a thing, I would love to take a trip out and see this happen.
  19. I buy almost entirely from Fangamer. I still have some stuff from Hot Topic (eeeeeaughhhhh) from when I was younger, but I've cycled it out mostly.
  20. Just like Capcom worked hard on Megaman Xover™
  21. Giving Sonic some Color powers would be really cool, and he *****might***** even get something from All-Stars Racing but considering that's Mario Karts competition I think not.
  22. I mean if we're talking lead, the effects I have on might make it a bit detuned.
