This initial screen is outdated anyways, the whole design changed quite dramtically since then. Hmmm.... The main thing that's going to delay a public release of the site would be the background music... I need atleast three tracks before this thing goes online. I have snapps and kanjika helping out, but if anyone else wants to make some background music for the website, it's open to anyone on the project. Actually, if you're good, it's probably open to anyone. What I need is short, background music-ish remixes. Quality here isn't quite as important as tracks on the project, but obviously we want stuff that still sounds nice. You can make it mostly original, but be sure to mix in bits and pieces from s3k tunes. It could be a medley. A good length would be around about a minute. Longer or shorter is okay, but I don't want people to have to stream massive files so keep that in mind. The songs will appear on the bonus tracks section of the site... this is sort of like the "unofficial" third disc, I suppose. Any questions, just ask! ~Hadyn

I think jan 10 is an old date. It better be an old date. I'm not going to make it otherwise. I'm struggling to finish all my work for Project Chaos first, and I've officially put my work for this project aside for the time being. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to finish this mix... just not in the next ten days... And I'm in the final two months of my diploma, so there's a lot of work for me to focus on there, aswell. So yeah, Jan 10 is not good.

Ichi... There are a few reasons it's not public yet. The main reason is that the background music is currently placeholder, and sort of in violation of copyright, which obviously needs to be changed. The second reason is that some of the content such as the "thankyou" section is currently non-existent. IE. I need to get that info from the project leaders. I also need to amend some of the content, like the news page and the about page to include info on our new third project director. I also need to get the links page working with some fancier buttons, though that's not nearly as important and can wait until after the site goes public. So mainly the first two reasons. Don't worry though, I promised to make a good site and I'm determined to come through!

Jan 31st is fine, I plan to have it done much sooner anyways, hopefully within the week. But I've hardly been slacking off, for the record. My course work for college has been getting heavier and heavier, and in the whole year I've only had two weeks holidays (this is my second week now), and even then I'm doing homework throughout. I also did the website for this project, and doing stuff like that takes a lot longer than you might think. It's not just about finding time, either, it's about being in the right mood to work on something like this. There have been plenty of times when I've forced myself to sit down and try something out, working on it for a few hours, only to revert to an older version because I didn't like the way it was sounding. I've revised the mixing countless times, reworked the structure and changed instruments around. I'm no musical genius, trying to get this to sound nice is a whole lot of trial and error for me, and that takes time. As another note, I did have more than one track, another one which I'd completed, but that didn't make it onto the project if anyone remembers. Ohwell, doesn't matter. It'll be done in time either way. But seriously, KFC, get some damn webspace already! If you want the site to go up, this week is the best time for me to make that happen. I can do it later too, but this week would be the best, so yeah. Webspace would be nice. Cheers, ~Hadyn

When you say "short", what time do you mean, roughly? Like, 3 mins? Or shorter? 2? What's the shortest a mix should be? Mine should fairly easily break 3 mins, but I'm just curious to know for sure.

Probably because it's spelt Hadyn I just found this thread, sorry I didn't get a chance to post earlier. I was contacted by epo about joining the project, and recently I created a short demo, which I assume he passed on to you guys? Well yeah, I'd like to be part of the project. On the other hand I live a very busy life sometimes, so if I don't get it done in time there's not much that can be done about it. I will, however, try my best to make it before all the deadlines. I wasn't really on a break myself, I've just been too bogged down with other work. I have holidays in another two weeks, I can definitely finish then. I'm considering canning the bonus thing I was making for the site, though. I have some massive assignments that take priority over it, and there's probably not enough time for me to finish it. Either that, or I'll make a simpler version than origianlly planned. In fact, I'll try to do that second idea. A lot of work already went into it, it'd be a shame to not use it in one way or another. Oh, I finished the site with sound effects and all. Obviously the content and background music is just placeholder stuff right now, but that's easy to change and so everything's good in that respect! If KFC or Snapps want to organise some webspace I'll be able to update the content and upload it during my little holiday.

It'll be good! It'll be done soon, too... maybe. I might be able to finish inserting sound effects as soon as today. Then I'll just need the project leaders to review the site content, and we're all good. The bonus feature won't be done so soon unfortunately, but that's okay. It'll hopefully be worth waiting for.

To be honest, that's quite a relief for me. Assignments are piling up and I haven't been able to work on the site as much as I'd have liked. I'd still have a "finished" version if the project was released then, but there's a bit of extra content I really want to add, and it would be good to have time to work on that.

That's cool then, but the reasoning behind my idea was that maybe if you gave them something - anything - they'd stop nagging about it. As for "not owing anyone shit", I disagree. We're making this project for the people, and I think we need to atleast make an effort to treat them with a little respect. You can tell them that you don't know when the project's coming out and that you would appreciate it if they stopped nagging, but try to be nice about it. Just my thoughts on the subject, feel free to disregard. ~Hadyn

Why not just be really non specific about it, but still give everyone atleast some sort of answer. They'd probably be happier hearing "This year" rather than "piss off I don't know".

Don't worry - even if they quit, a new leader will appear and everything will be fine. The mixing's almost complete, and that's the hardest stage. I'm going *reasonably* well with the website, and the only other real concern is hosting, which we can worry about later. Besides, I doubt either will quit anyway. Hell, they're probably over it already. It's all good... Right people? ~Hadyn
