Just submitted my bonus. Definitely not MnP, but I figured since it's a bonus I had room to flex a little.
Oh, and given the pre-requisite for next week's source, I looked up Rouge's Theme from SA2 and have had that stuck in my head since. lol

What you could do is use a standard visualizer, like what comes default in many media players.  Then you can screenshot the result.
I've seen many visualizers that turn it into fractals or shapes or whatever.  There are many options out there!

This just came to mind while going through OC I noticed that were was a lack of Persona songs, beyond the one in Unsung Heros, and I figured I would see if others who enjoyed the game series and loved the music wanted to take the challenge in making a few songs. The upside is there are four games total in the Persona series so if there are enough songs in it there could be a Album. So if anyone wants to take up the challenge you know what to do.

Liking this frosty bonus tune! Those foot steps in the snow and the wind samples really set the mental image nicely.

Got mine done - Not quite as polished as I'd have liked it to be, but I was really restricted on time this week. Still, it's something a little different from the others

Just submitted my entry, I was pretty busy this weekend with the kido and didn't have much time to finish where I was headed. Its more a less a simple midi refresher with a new synth arp line that i sequenced and a few drum edits.

Hate to double post, but my track is up. Rather short, but I'm trying to go for substance. EQ could probably use a bit more work, but eh.

Fwiw, my track is coming along pretty well. Definitely won't have any time issues this round.

    Firebird. (Wurlitzer is AWESOME)
Saurus and Nucleus demos (save song, close program, reopen program and song to have demos again, you must save and exit and then reopen the song periodically)

Come for the emotion. Stay for the developing musical arc, the interweaving piano/string sections (like at 1:47), and the beautiful transitions (like 2:50-3:05). Anyone who can't get over what are totally sufficient drums missed the entire point and need to remain outside.

I always wanted to pick the source but that was with the idea that there would be others participating.

I don't remember them down to the letter, but I remember the general sound quality, style and sample usage.  More or less lol.  You're improving mate

Thanks. I'm a little proud of all sounds except for the weird pad in the background being mine.
Also, I'm surprised you remember those.

That was definitely one of the worst arranging experiences I've had.

Pretty much what @Skrypnyk said. Automation is a convenient way to turn knobs and move sliders in a pre-programmed fashion. The great thing about automation is that you can pull off tricks you can't do in a real studio (unless you had like 5 people working your mixer at the same time), making production on a DAW that much more powerful.
    For instance...
You could automate the EQ bands in an EQ plugin so that the mids are scooped for a certain section of your song with particularly thick textures, but only for that section, for your chosen instrument(s). You could extend the range of LFOs (a tool that basically wiggles a knob or slider back and forth at a certain rate and slope) within a synth. Some (most?) synths have a limit to how slow the LFO can be. Sometimes you may want to assign an LFO but make it last like 20 seconds for half a cycle. Well, with automation, you could just construct an envelope that imitates a really slow LFO, in your DAW, by assigning the automation to the parameter of your choice in the synth. You could gate your sounds manually, if you don't have an algorithmic way of doing it (simply automate the mixer track slider down to 0 and back up to how it was). All of the above at once? and so on. This video may be a good exposure to production talk:
The blue, purple, and yellow playlist elements are examples of automation clips.
