  1. Well, he plead guilty today according to the news. http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/Christian-Metal-Singer-Tim-Lambesis-Guilty-Murder-for-Hire-San-Diego-247112481.html I don't know much about law, but a 9 year prison term seems kinda light for something like this.
  2. This is actually a new arrangement of an old song of mine. Very different and only in good ways. Just got to a good point in working on this song to upload it and let people have a listen. Still an early WIP but it's going well. Unfortunately Soundcloud lowers my sound quality a bit but I still think it sounds fine for getting a little feedback https://soundcloud.com/brad-charles/you-shall-go-no-further-boss Made using the VSTs that I can afford on my budget - Miroslav Philharmonik, SampleTank, EZDrummer guitars recorded using PODFarm
  3. You must be right then Mirby, I just didn't notice somehow. I fixed the name so now it should be clearer. Thanks!
  4. Ohh thanks...I don't remember hearing "Fighting to the End", but I know I've gotten like 4 asterisks so far or something like that, so maybe you don't hear that one for a while? I've only put a few hours into the game so far. Thanks for clarifying
  5. It's not awful. The story just doesn't seem very imaginative. I played a little more last night though, it's getting better. The combat system is what makes it interesting really. Just my opinion. I'll hold off on the final judgment until I finish the game.
  6. I just picked up a 2DS and Bravely Default. Honestly, the game is not spectacular. However - the music is great. I love the battle themes, it's right along the lines of the stuff I like to write myself. (Thanks to Mirby for correcting me on this...) The asterisk boss battle theme (That Person's Name Is) is especially good, and I can hear it being done in my head as a piano solo. However, I don't play piano. Maybe someone can take this on and make something awesome with it? Source:
  7. Metal icing on the remix cake...yum. You can leave me as being available for guitar work if anyone needs it though.
  8. I haven't heard any update on this, but I am giving up my claim on Terrarium of Terror (Day).
  9. I hate to do this, but I need to give up my claim on Dodo. I can't find the time to work on anything anymore and there might be someone else out there with some good ideas for it.
  10. I would like to relinquish my claim on Fusion Dragon. I don't think my life is going to allow me any time to work on this.
  11. "Dizzy" is neat. I'm too poor to buy a Wii U though. I'll have to settle for listening to it on Youtube and maybe someone will remix it.
  12. "Car" and "jaguar", "guitar" and "jaguar". But seriously, not the point of the thread. I'm going to pick up EWQLSO and see what happens, and I'll come running back for help if it doesn't work like I hope. Maybe I'll keep that Vienna Library in mind for the future.
  13. My first car was not a Jaguar But my current guitar is indeed a Jaguar. That also rhymes. Edit: Forgot to actually respond to anything meaningful. Meteo Xavier, I'm glad to hear that what I was thinking is not wrong. I'm excited to purchase this and get started making some sweet tunes.
  14. I'm cool with the big Hollywood sound for now, especially considering it's 280 dollars less for EWQLSO Gold than that Vienna collection. I don't mind spending that 400 now and upgrading later if I need more options. Now just to wait for tax refund time...
  15. You know, there are so many variables, I'm just going to have to do SOMETHING, see how it works, and go from there.
  16. Also, since the EWQLSO Gold samples are only 33GB total, I think I'll just install them on my internal hard drive first to see if how it performs that way. Who knows, maybe I can get away with doing it that way.
  17. Moseph - I think after looking into it more I'm going to go with EWQLSO Gold instead of the more demanding Hollywood stuff or the CCC2. I think that should help out, my computer would probably laugh at me if I tried to go for the CCC2 Diamond editions. Flexstyle - I wasn't completely disregarding your advice about buying the biggest SSD I could find, but that Samsung Evo is an internal drive and opening my computer and putting things in it is scary. I guess maybe I should look around for someone in my area who can do it for me, because it certainly seems like the best idea. Trying to find an external Thunderbolt SSD that doesn't cost more than the samples themselves is not going to happen for sure. Thanks for all the advice again folks.
  18. Yep after that edit I think I am definitely more confused. So an SSD with a Thunderbolt connection would be about the best I could do in my circumstances, right? Since I can only use Thunderbolt or USB 2.0?
  19. Thanks for kind of clearing that up. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is...so the Complete Composer's Collection 2 by EastWest comes on a 1TB hard drive with USB 3.0. My iMac doesn't have USB 3.0, and according to EastWest 2.0 is too slow to have good performance with the samples from that hard drive. Their suggestion is to get a 7200 RPM hard drive with Firewire 800 and transfer all the samples to there, and then run the samples off of that one. (Please keep in mind that I'm pretty much just quoting things, and have little to zero idea what I'm even saying). I'm just trying to find something that is equivalent to that. At least a 500GB storage medium of some sort, whether it is a really fast hard drive or an SSD, and external, and some kind of connection that I can use with my iMac - which would only be Thunderbolt or USB 2.0. I'm sure I'm being confusing. I'm kinda confusing myself.
  20. And by comparable, I meant as far as speed/load times for samples goes...
  21. So for an update, I've started looking around and kinda decided which direction I'm going. I was wondering though, does anyone have experience using a Thunderbolt hard drive? I found one in the Apple online store that is a 1TB hard drive with Thunderbolt connectivity and it's like $200. I just want to know if this would be comparable to an SSD or a 7200 RPM hard drive. I really don't know what I'm looking at/for and searching online doesn't seem to help much.
  22. I'm not trying to put my name on every track since I already did Smithy and am in the process of working on Dodo, but you can put me down for collab on guitars if you want.
  23. Wow, this sounds pretty nice. I'm working on my own orchestral skills as well. What VST(s) did you use for this?
  24. Your playing sounds good, but yeah it's very repetitive and sleepy in the beginning. I also can tell you're using Drumkit from Hell (right?) and I'm not a big fan of the way that it sounds (personal preference, lots of people love it). I use EZDrummer but I'm a really big fan of the Metal Machine EZX. Maybe a key change and a bit more of your own melody would make this stand out a little more. Also, and I'm listening to this as I type, the kick is getting really covered up once the electric guitar comes in. I think it sounds pretty decent overall, just could use some fixing up here and there
  25. This version sounds great too. It sounds like it belongs in the game Want to tell what all you used to make this?
