    Hello OCR!

We have a very special remix contest happening this month over at dwellingofduels.net, involving crossover with OCRemix for the upcoming Final Fantasy III [NES] album! All entries for this month are encouraged to be submitted to OCR after the voting phase for consideration on this album, and will be fast-tracked through the OCR judging process!

Any song from the FF3 soundtrack is allowed (note: this is the Japanese release of FF3 on NES, NOT the game known as FF3 in America which was for SNES). There are a few songs that are more 'preferable' from the soundtrack and do not currently have representation on the album:

    • Crystal Cave
    • Battle theme
    • Crystal Room
    • Opening Theme
    • Return of the Warrior
    • The Way to the Top
    • Cute Little Tozas
    • Sailing Enterprise
    • Veggies of Geseal
    • Castle of Hain
    • The Requiem
    • Swift Twist
    • Good Ol' Fellows
    • In the Covert Town
    • Salonia
    • Deep Under the Water
    • The Invincible
    • Forbidden Land
    • The Dark Crystals

    What is Dwelling of Duels?

    • The song must be previously unreleased
    • The song must not be shorter than 2 minutes
    • The main instrument must be played live

Check out our full rules page for more info on how to enter! Deadline for submissions is September 28 at 06:00 PM Eastern.

  2. Hello all!

To those unfamiliar, Dwelling of Duels is a monthly VGM cover competition. Competitors anonymously submit redone versions of game music based on a monthly theme and the entries are voted upon by the community.

We just launched a Patreon to help us get some $$$ together so we can pay the visual artists who create our banner artwork each month. Once we reach a decent amount, we hope to put the excess money to use on other things in the future (More prizes? Licensed song releases? Physical compilations? Who knows!). It would mean a lot if anyone tossed us a buck or two, especially since so many great OC Remix tracks have started their lives as DoD submissions!

And also, check out our competition and submit an entry sometime ;)

Hey guys! This FREE album is an international collab released p̶e̶r̶f̶e̶c̶t̶l̶y̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ two weeks after the Quake II 20th anniversary! It covers (almost) all of the soundtrack to both the original game and the expansions, originally composed by musical mastermind Sonic Mayhem. Check out the team page on the website for a bunch of sexy pics and info about the team. If you buy the album on bandcamp, the money will be going to a charity supporting music education in public schools.

    Hope you enjoy it!

  4. Hi everyone. I was wondering if it wasn't too late to hop on this and claim a track? I made a pretty cool take on the title music from SF https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1665268/music/lylat system - theme audition.mp3

This is me messing around with it and brainstorming ideas, no mixing or anything. Thinking of keeping it short since the source is very sparse anyways.

  6. Sweet. By the way, my recording has a setting, it can go from 8 to 44h CD quality. It only gives me an hour of recording instead of 5, but it should be worth it. However, there is no stereo mono setting. What should I do?

"Stereo-mono" is a nonsense oxymoron as these are terms that mean the opposite thing. The only thing it could possibly mean is that its making a stereo track out of a single mono file, which would do nothing for you. I personally have never seen someone record a vocal line in stereo, it is always a mono recording. It may be panned to a side of the stereo field during the mixing process, but for recording it is no issue.

I think you should do some research on basic aspects of audio recording so you can fully understand what you're doing.

  7. Hi all! I'm looking to get some voiceover work for a new song I'm working on. Looking for a female voice,18-25, who can record some lines, which I will cut up and glitch around some in one part of my song. Either post here or PM me with some samples of your work. This is for a secret song, so I can give you more details once we've talked a bit. I can't pay you, but you will definitely get credit and link to your page from where the song is posted. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
