PacificPoem just dropped the "medley" idea and is instead going for Covert Town and Dark Crystals. Kate is on Eternal Wind and Lute of Noah. There's still a good amount of tracks left to claim, and some that could potentially be dropped. I think we've already gotten a strong enough line-up and every completely needed song is accounted for, in just 2 days... Thank you all so much... <3

Pre:edit - even bigger apologies cause sixto just claimed Eternal Wind... i'm gonna let him have it, and Boss Battle and Ending Theme.... sixto instead of Dr. Manhattan or BONKERS is a good compromise IMO! Apologies to both of you I will try to make it more clear in the first post. This is some of the "tough decisions" I was speaking of. I got no doubt both of you could knock it out of the park, and even produce remixes that would be posted to the OCR front page, but the scope is a little higher than that for what I would call the really KEY tracks of the game. It's higher than I can even properly explain right now so for lack of knowing, I'll just say they may remain unclaimed for a while. Something I want to try for some songs is a "voting" process when we get the private subforum. It'll be a way to vote for a remix that you think deserves to be on the album or don't. It's something I wanted to do personally with my own work, I don't think I would want anyone else to get shut down, but the option will be on the table for people. I haven't thought out all of the details yet, but it would most-likely be project member-based voting, sort of like a pre-judge panel for inclusion... In particular I wanted to try my hand at "Under the Deep Sea" but let you guys choose whether it's good enough or if we should hold out for something better. That's going to be the unpopular idea with this album, "holding out for something better", but in the end I think it will make a stronger album... or if it blows up in my face, we can change things later on. It's experimental. Another idea I had was possibly doing a DoD-style anonymous competition here at OCR through the Competition forums. Sorta like Zircon's FF6 contest. Hopefully that is either something we'd do very far along, or not have to do because we get enough claims. In conclusion! Sorry. But please do not hesitate to claim something else, all of your support and consideration is very much appreciated. The Dual Dragons today claimed Jinn the Fire and Beneath the Horizon, two songs I thought would be quite difficult to get coverage for... that's what I like to see, they didn't even ask for Eternal Wind or Elia! The more difficult sources need love too! EDIT: This might sound weird but if anyone on the project wants to toss me their cell phone numbers to get personalized, real life updates or correspondence concerning your contribution (and Happy New Years calls while I'm sitting bored at work) feel free to send them my way.

I'm thinking of either persuading Dr. Manhattan to do it, BONKERS, or if both of those ideas fail make it a huge mega-collab of organic instrumentation, it'd be awesome. :3 But I'm holding out for... someone like.... Jeremy Soule to pop in and claim it.. Also I am sorry, it's nothing personal nor a knock on your musical quality, I wouldn't even want to claim it my own self, I am hoping to hold out for something really magnificent.

It's for hiding and sadness. I bet we missed out on a good 5+ claims so far due to it being hidden! When I talked to djp at MAG I said I didn't want to direct people to a hidden thread or recruit by hand for it like I did with ff1 and ff2 so I thought the Community thing would fly.

Final Fantasy III AN ALBUM PROJECT Hi! As some of you may have heard at MAGFest 11™, the Final Fantasy III album is officially starting -- in January! This will probably be my last big community album project before I take a break, and as a result, I want to encourage community involvement more than ever before. Recruiting is now opening to the general public of Oc Remix -- anyone who is a posted remixer can make a claim immediately, and anyone who isn't posted may submit your best work for consideration (audition) to make a claim. Yes, for the conclusion of the trilogy to be the best that it can be, the quality control has to be overly strict. Tough decisions will be made, butts may be hurt, but it's with the best intentions in mind and a love for the soundtrack. The hope is that the community will band together to make this one of the best albums available, with no genre restrictions. Without further adieu... Your WIP was great, I'm looking forward to hearing more! I feel like a bum having already finished my song like... 2 years ago or whatever... but I also think my song is really strong even though it's a genre most won't get or be into, with Willrock's help I got it up to what I'd say is industry standards for the djent genre... as for whether that flies at OCR is yet to be seen... I don't know OCR's stance on djent as I'm not familiar with any djent remixes... It's always fun and interesting to get something new out there and see how they go with it! But enough about me and my bummishness, I just feel like maybe I'm not being as active with this as I could be, if I were actively working on music for it. If anyone feels like I am not engaging enough let me know and I'll do better, I don't want to upset anyone or let this project fall into any kind of stasis. The previous deadline was the end of the year, so let's see if we can possibly get some finished songs by February 15th! I appreciate all the hard work, please keep me up to date. The sooner the songs are done, the sooner we can move towards making a really sweet and sexy package to send to OCR! My focus on ff2 and ff3 will NOT interfere with any duties I owe to you for this project. Just send me a PM with any questions, concerns, or wip feedback, and post your WIP in the private project forum too to get feedback from everyone!
