  1. I second this! Managed to catch the listening party and immediately bought a copy. It's really delightful stuff, and definitely chip in (haha chiptune jokes lolz) if you can! - Bryan
  2. Is anyone driving in to MAGFest from Atlanta? OverClocked PodCast friend/contributor Matthew Tucciarone is interested in teaming up for the drive to split the gas bill (and possibly the hotel room, too). Let me know if that might work out for you! - Stephen
  3. I won't be making any Mega Knight / Shovel Man tunes, but I'm really looking forward to hearing how this plays out! Choosing the Game Boy Mega Man soundtracks was real smart. Nobody's going to argue that the NES versions are anything but amazing, but they've been revisited... what, 200 times on OCR alone? Exploring new territory sounds fun. - Stephen
  4. I'm really digging this! Sounds surprisingly natural and really satisfying. Also, nailed the vibe of Apotos. Really fun. - Stephen
  5. Yo guys. I can't make the musics very good yet, but if I can help at all with this album, drop me a line. Obviously we'll cover it on the podcast when the time comes, but my unshakable enthusiasm for Sonic the Hedgehog music demands that I volunteer. If anyone needs feedback or help organizing stuff or what have you, I'm game! And definitely give me a shout before this thing goes live so we can plan for it on the show, hopefully along with an interview. - Stephen
  6. I haven't had too much time to play it so far, but-- I REALLY LIKE Overwatch. Pharah, Lucio, and Winston are my go-to characters so far. I want to add Tracer and D. Va to that list, but I'm honestly pretty bad with those two. Feel free to add me as well: Emblem180#1675 Any interest in putting together a game night or two? I'd be into playing with some OCR folks, even if our skills levels vary wildly. I'm on PC. - Stephen
  7. I'm very fond of the original SSB's sparse, chill music it employed for menus and extra modes. They don't often get the full ReMix treatment, so I'm happy as can be to hear this! Those old tunes were just begging for some mild jazz to bring them back into the spotlight
  8. It always amazes me how a single instrument can hold more layers, technique, and meaning than an orchestra. Thanks for reminding me, Nostalvania.
  9. I think I'm with the judges on this one. It's a solid, smooth tune for sure, but you've got to really appreciate the groove for this ReMix to stay interesting from start to finish.
  10. When I saw the game in question it was no Pokemon Mystery as to who was behind this ReMix, but it is a little baffling how TheGuitahHeroe nails it time and time again. I absolutely love the percussion, so it must have been one doozy of an overhaul.
  11. Yep, that "3, 2, 1, GO" gets me every time. You know something rad is cooking and then you're in the thick of it. Every corner of this ReMix is filled with fun, creative ideas!
  12. This is what I love to hear in thoroughly rocking guitar work. Good times are had at 2:19, which makes me real happy and no mistake. The Intergalactic Dictatorship has arrived, and I like it.
  13. This ReMix reminds me a bit of margarine: it's smooth, complimentary, and inoffensive in every way but doesn't really taste like anything. Even though I'm a fan of the production quality and I can feel its calming presence as I write this, it's tough to say the buildup is worth the wait. Of course, house music makes a habit of going in one ear and out the other when it comes to me, so take that with a grain of salt!
  14. This entire song reminds me of The Glory Days-- and seeing as that's one of the greatest works from Big Giant Circles, I'm confident in saying that this is hyper cool rad good yes indeed music. Can't get enough of those bright, fun rhythms!
  15. Mm-hm, yes, that was indeed both funky and fresh. All the grandeur of a quest-ridden dungeon and all the groove of one notably knightly Sir J. Hard to not grin happily at some of those brass hits and drum fills. I like it a lot!
  16. I'm so confused! And happy. And horrified? This ReMix is like a Magic Eye in that you need to give up and unfocus your mind for anything to make sense-- and then, when it finally does, oh does it. Oh does it. Does it? I love it.
  17. This here is a ReMix to get you seriously pumped up. I just love the mix of guitar, strings, and hard-hitting percussion at the end.
  18. I'll have whatever that percussion ordered at 2:52 because it has a healthy glow of rad. This ReMix is a real solid blend of two cool tracks with a techno beat that doesn't bore. And that, I should think, is worthy of a smiley.
  19. I do love how those pretty plucked strings and chimes begin and end the song without ever abandoning the listener. They're always there sprinkling magic in the air-- it's just that they happen to be backed by loads of funk. Quite a delight.
  20. This is scratching an itch I didn't know I had. There's something so pleasant about this rhythm with such a cool, consistent slap bass. It's smooooooooooth.
  21. I'm not sure how I feel about this. But really, that's a clever genre shift and a creative atmosphere wrapped into a chill ReMix. The lyrics do kind of-- if you'll pardon this horrible turn of phrase-- beat you over the head without much subtlety, but perhaps that is the very point.
  22. This whole "scoring a cartoon" idea is good, goofy fun. It's not something I would often listen to on its own, but sitting down and imagine the animation is pretty darn neat!
  23. Oh my gosh, Sonic and the Black Knight has such a killer soundtrack. Tommy Tallarico was even on board, man! I'm a real fan of this arrangement, particularly because of those attention-grabbing piano beats. This will no doubt enter my extensive Christmas playlist next year.
  24. Oh, hey, I'm way late to Christmas party but it's awesome to hear something from Jayson's compilation! It's straight up lovely how Goomin subtly gave this entire piece a Christmas vibe without overtly stampeding all over it with sleigh bells. Clever and oh-so-peaceful.
