  1. I saw a WillRock ReMix called "Walking Weapons Unit" and, justifiably, braced myself for a rad blast of synth shredding. Then I heard this, became momentarily confused, and sat back in my chair as my overactive brain cooled down. The song hits that sweet spot of energy and calm. I reeeeeeaaaaally like it.
  2. I appreciate that the first forty seconds or so of this ReMix work on setting a moood-- a mood that carries through to the end. The melody went to some awkward places (the source tune is a secret to me), but I started grooving a little harder near the end. Nice work capturing a distinct, awesome sound!
  3. Man, I am in love with Lake Hylia, and now, as it were, with this ReMix. The sunlit waters and euphoric chillaxation are present in spades; I really dig the signature change as it brought a heightened sense of fun and a newfound focus on the very slick bass. Yes sir, this is a wonderful song and that's the truth of the matter!
  4. Yep, this is a weird one, and I'm really rather fond of it. Actually, I remember using the "Hey, listen!" drop for an intro segment on a VGM interview show I used to host. Good memories!
  5. A no holds barred guitar-driven guns blazing adventure. That's what we have here, folks, and I'm on board. It's almost a bit too much, what with four minutes of intense shredding, which is why I appreciate the break at 2:22-- especially since it reinforces that '80s vibe. It doesn't really stray from DusK's usual stomping grounds, but, I mean... there's nothing wrong with that.
  6. As a Chrono Trigger outsider (a traitor to taste and neutralizer of nostalgia), I love this ReMix, synth brass and all. No, especially the synth brass. I think this is your best work yet, Argle, so I'm glad you returned to the source!
  7. A light, effortless touch makes this arrangement sound so natural. Beautiful work, Wrinkly would be proud! (Except I think she's dead now? Donkey Kong canon, I tell you...)
  8. Such a cool use of vocals! The piano cameo for Terra's Theme was another bit of brilliance. The whole track exudes an ominous, introspective vibe that really gets in my head. Excellent.
  9. Larry stole the words right out from under me: Grant Kirkhope. There are lots of other weird, wonderful sounds in this intensely fun ReMix, but I bet the melody-driven Mr. Kirkhope would have a lot of fun with this tune. This wasn't really what I was expecting when I saw "Sixto Sounds" but I'm not even the tiniest bit disappointed. This is creative genius at work!
  10. Seriously? ANOTHER Harlequin ReMix? Uggghhhhhhh. Beyond the overplayed nature of the source tune, I was delighted to introduce this song to my ears, both of which approved. The bouncing drums and bass at 0:43 really do it for me. Were this ReMix a piece of armor, it would doubtless yield +14 Happiness.
  11. Wow, this ReMix is super way easy on the ears-- never a dull moment. It sounds vibrant and totally in control of itself at every turn (of which there are many). I like it, I like it!
  12. Oh my gosh. Katamari and Kirby in one boisterous ReMix of passionate joy? This is amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. The beats are bouncing off the walls from start to finish; so much fun, energy, and skill! This'll get played a lot, mark my words!
  13. Sadevakio is one of those ReMixes that I'll have to appreciate from a distance. This genre of music never quite makes it through the ears and into my soul, and although I'll never argue that this isn't a polished, constantly moving mix, my mind wanders with incurable regularity. Melodically there's not enough to hold onto yet the soundscape doesn't draw me in. Impressive work, didn't connect!
  14. I would not hesitate to curl on a comfortable couch with a fire crackling gently in the corner, mug of steaming coffee in hand, as this ReMix plays out the night from a stereo. It's rich, jazzy, and really rather impressive.
  15. I had to laugh at djpretzel's allusion to OCR's 2002-era dance music-- that's exactly what I was thinking as the song began. In fact, despite a fairly rudimentary execution, there's something nostalgic and satisfying about this ReMix-- especially at 1:32. A good time was had by me.
  16. Man, you can always trust DusK with a guitar. This is some good, honest, straight up rock with a boatload of energy behind it. It might be a little bit abrasive or unpolished for my tastes, but that doesn't stop it from making me bob my head and play my fingers like drums on the desk.
  17. Congratulations on finally getting the ReMix posted! I thought this would be a straightforward piano medley at first, but I was pleased to discover just how wrong I was and how creative this piece is. I had the same thoughts as Chimpazilla regarding the fadeout (bummer) but it doesn't detract from everything else going on. That piano slide at 5:02 was fun stuff.
  18. Oh man, DiGi Valentine and Palpable together again! You guys did fine, fine work Temporal Duality. I never would have thought to include a voice like Bekah's in the mix, but the contrast created is a beautiful thing. Her calming, melodic performance made Digi's unbeatable rhythm filled with frustration all the more convincing. The build up of 2:01 is a really impressive example of this. Fantastic collaboration as far as I'm concerned! I'd like to see this trio reunite in the future.
  19. I fully embrace the silly, bombastic attitude on display here, but do wish the result was a little less muddy; the timing and production feel off. Nevertheless, I like what the ReMix is aiming for and particularly appreciate the sweet, simple ending.
  20. I wouldn't say it's an especially creative ReMix of an oft-played tune (I mean, not everything can be Tetris Plays You!) but it's punchy enough to stand on its own. A good thumping drum helps out with that, particularly during 2:09, which sounds kind of awesome.
  21. Geez, this hit the right spot between inspirationally modern and warmly nostalgic. I apologize if not knowing what a Mellotron is makes me a heathen, but my unlearned opinion gives this mix a thumbs up.
  22. This is one of those ReMixes that makes it fun to re-listen with the sole intent of focusing on a single portion of the song. There's a lot going on in there without ever feeling messy, which is just grand. I love Link's Awakening (best 2D Zelda game, maybe?) and this is a satisfying homage to its color-challenged grandeur.
  23. This is a lovely ReMix. It flows along at its own pace and unfolds a watery world worthy of exploring-- very nice!
  24. The opening to this song is lovely and reminiscent of a woodland, reinforced by a beautiful flute performance. The brass caught me off guard, jarring me out of the moment with its-- and I know this is a really technical term-- doofiness. And yet, as the flute continued to dance and the guitar jumped in to steal the show (wow that was good), I ultimately embraced the brass and came out loving this ReMix big time. - Stephen
  25. I would imagine that this is what it sounds like to have Confusion used on you. For giving me a good trippy beat and a closer look at the Pokemon psyche, Benjaminn Briggs, I thank you. - Stephen
