I'm wondering something about frames. Is it possible to have a frame entirely encompass another frame, like so: Or must it be done like this: dividing things into frame 1, 2, and 6, and then dividing frame 2 into frame 3, 4 and 5? I'm wondering because I want an evenly gradient image as a backgroud in the purple field, and I want the image to resize itself to cover the whole window's background... EDIT: Hm, I guess floating frames will do the job. Or won't they? EDIT 2: Ok, this is the code I made, but the middle frame won't show up. Here's a bit of advice. Begin by listening to this thing I made for you. It starts out like your intro does, with every not being the same velocity. Sounds pretty mechanical, doesn't it? Then the same thing plays again, this time with more individual velocities for each note. It still sounds fake, but it does sound better. No person can play an instrument to sound the exact same every time they play a specific note, so when an instrument is played like that, everyone thinks it sounds fake. When you can actually hear the same sample being repeated so many times in a row, and on the same note, it sounds really fake. This is what happens in your intro. You need to vary the velocities. The piano instrument I used has lots of different samples and plays them depending on how high I set the velocity for each key. A loud note has one samples, a faint one has another sample. If this orchestra pack you're using doesn't have this (I believe it's called layered samples) feature, you need to look for a better one, because you will never make a good brassline with just one sample for each note. Also, you need to make sure that the notes aren't always playing perfectly quantized - they need to be slightly off-beat to sound real. Pull the notes around so that they're not exactly on the beat - sometimes they should be ahead, sometimes they should be lagging. We're talking milliseconds here, but it makes all the difference. Also, you're leaving this brass of yours, which is never going to sound convincingly real no matter what you do with it, completely naked. It feels almost embarrassing, like going to the freshman high school marching band's first performance. You need to divert the attention from the parts that aren't so convincing. Try adding some pizzicato strings to fill up the empty space between the notes there in the beginning, or some subtle woodwind chords in the background. Don't let either of these let the melody fall in the background, but keep them just audiable to make the song feel less empty. I think I've been kind enough to another person to sate my conscience for a month now.

How'd you get those snapshots? DOSBox? LOL... I can't believe that's how small 320x200 looks on my monitor... or how my eyes can appreciate graphics that lo-res (and they do, believe me). Glad we got that sorted out and out of the way.

Yeah, I was thinking it might be inverted colors at first but had to give that idea up quickly. I had like 4 colors... and none of the green was on the doom trooper At least now you saw proof.

Well, Paint.NET is a hell of a lot better than MS Paint, though not nearly as powerful as photoshop. The screen dump is grayscale no matter what, though.

No, not that one. What kind of strange version am I playing here??? .pcx, huh? Like I said, I tried using print screen earlier, but pasting it into Paint.NET didn't work, and as it happens, Paint.NET can't handle pcx. I'll try using photoshop next time and if that doesn't work I'll give your way a shot. EDIT: OK, here it is. Too bad it's only grayscale, since that kind of defeats my point... This is when playing the TNT campaign, I only have that and Plutonia.

There's no screenshot button in doom95 afaik and print scrn doesn't work either, but I assure you he pops up with the stats after each level, just like duke. I'm not lying here However, I'm ok with skipping that "after each level" thingy, as should be evident when reading the bio. Good input though, and thanks for looking by, Coop.

I'm not seeing the apostrophe, and didn't last time either. Are you sure you're not loading from cache, have you tried hitting reload? I did miss out on the other 2 fixes though, thanks. See if they're fixed this time. Is the apostrophe still there?

Ok, I'll fix Toad's link. What of the Doom Trooper's spacesuit? Should I remove all mention of it or be more specific about when you get to see it?
