I love your work, Schnab, just wanted to say that while I had a chance. DKC2 could always use some more mixes, I've been listening to its soundtrack a lot just these last few days. Now, this feels a little loud, I think. Personally, I'd have preferred that synth piano that comes in at 1:15 to be the real thing. I also only barely feel the original song in here, and I would have a liked there to, at some point, be a more obvious cover of the original song. The best mixes, I think, are those that tease you for a few minutes by almost covering the main theme and then actually do... that climax is missing here, I think. Comparing this to your other stuff, though, this seems to be in an early stage, and I'm sure I'll like this a lot more when it's finished. So... keep it up!

I feel like there's a word or two missing in each of these sentences. I don't quite understand what you're saying... Though the next sentences kinda make up for it, I guess. I could make one myself, I guess. I realize that the break itself might not be the best there is, but I was mainly concerned with the sound of it.

It sounds negative somehow. "Randomly" sounds too comical, and also like it happened several times. "Haphazardly" also sounds rather habitual. These songs are just 2 second jingles. Do these numbers refer to something other than the NSF track numbers? And if they do refer to the NSF's, do they refer to the ones at Zophar? It seems there are several rips (Akuma, Zophar, OCR), and each rip has a different track order... also, I could only find Dragon Warrior 2 at Zophar...

The reverb is very excessive, the trumpets don't sound realistic at all, and the strings, among other instruments, are too slow on the attack, especially when playing the melody. Other than that, beautiful!

Very cinematic... I think. Unlike the source, which is very "go get them!" action-like, this feels like a movie scene where the hero is flown in by helicopter to the place where he is to meet someone, at least the middle third of it. The first and last thirds feel more like a scene where the bad guys are planting bombs and stuff. Keep it up!

Sooo... I actually asked ParagonX9 to do this, because I wanted a remix of Cavern Caprice and I wanted it to sound like his "The Alternate Route". He hasn't replied to my request though, so I tried my hand at it myself. I realize it's nowhere near as good as his mix, and I'm not likely to finish it either, but, I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me why my beats suck. Are they too intense, too weak, or what? For whatever reason it doesn't really feel like they're pushing the song forward like those in The Alternate Route do, or like a solid 4 on the floor beat would. I've been listening to music that has this kind of drum programming for years but making something like it myself is new to me. Yeah, there are other areas that could be improved, especially balancing and the bassline. Well, HL2 doesn't actually need that much juice considering how awesome it looks. M2TW, on the other hand, needs a lot more than it deserves... plus, if you want to play newer games, you might want a newer card, so you can actually enjoy the new effects. Meh. I'll need to upgrade my cpu pretty soon anyway, so no point in getting a new card until I've done that, I guess. But then I'll need a new motherboard for the new cpu, and then I'll need new ram... bleh. Might as well get a new case while I'm at it. And a new burner. Come to think of it, my hard drive is feeling kinda small...

In that case, I'll try to be done before then, if I can.

I have a 3GHz P4, 2GB DDR and an ASUS 6800GT. For whatever reason, I'm getting pretty crappy framerates in most games. Most notably, F.E.A.R., which I've played and beat on this same computer a few months ago, is hardly even playable, even on the lowest settings. What could be wrong? I realize my computer isn't top shit, but it should still be keeping up, and it really isn't (or isn't really). Last time I did a full reinstall of windows and all was about 6 months ago. Could it be that the cpu fan doesn't really connect to the cpu or something? Or that I've gone from a CRT to an LCD monitor? EDIT: Lol... this chart is rather disturbing: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html - apparently, an 8500 gets beat by a 7300, despite having higher clock frequency and twice the RAM. The same 7300, and the 8500, beat the hot version of the 7300 (7300 TC), which has more MHz than either of them. WTF? Furthermore, and as was said, the 8800 GT with 256 MB RAM beats the 8800 GT with 512 MB by a considerable FPS percentage. Again, WTF? I can, however, see that my own graphics card does not fare well in the competition, though it, too, is better than the 8500. I guess anything less than an 8800 *input random abbreviation* isn't worth the money.

What's wrong with the built-in windows firewall? I really hate ZoneAlarm. It keeps minimizing my games, causing them to crash, and it never remembers my settings. Hate it. Really do.

This kind of stuff wouldn't be accepted here anymore. Which is kind of sad. But there's OLR nowadays. A lot of people here speak of this mix as the best on the site (though admittedly in a not too serious fashion), though, so it's kinda weird how similar songs are no longer good enough for it. Meh. We're not really editing your bios all over again, Linearity. We're looking out for small things like curly qoutation marks (lol), dead links and various other minor flaws. As I've understood it, Polo is already done with his bios. The reason we still aren't finished is - *trumpet fanfare* - me. I have another 25 bios to proofread, with Polo's help. I took 2 months to get started and this last month I've done 25. I'll do another 25 within a month. And then we're done (I think). You have been of great help, Linearity, and I don't mean this to sound like we could have done this without you, but I think we can finish this without any further assistance from you. You mentioned a while back that you would be unable to help us anymore because of time constaints or whatever it was, and I'm still counting on you not being able to help us. This should all be done before 2008, even at the rate I'm going.

Congrats! Though I really can't say I liked this mix... at first. As soon as the strings and that buzzing bass come in at 2:28, however, it's awesome. I understand you must have gone through a lot of crap programming those drums, but they felt weak somehow. I guess I'll have to agree with Liontamer there - but not on the rest of what he said!

We don't want spoilers, do we? Why don't you tinker with X's bio while you're at it? I don't mind Alex Kidd's bio being the way it is - it doesn't say he's a faded memory, rather the opposite. I really can't imagine a comeback myself though, except a portable or cellphone version. What's the point in an Alex Kidd 3D?
