Yeah, it's just a sine wave and a bunch of glide, and then you can tailor the other effects to taste.
Most synth plugins will have some version of it under a lot of different names - but it's usually called "Hip-Hop lead" or something to do with rap music as it used to be used in a lot of hip hop songs from the 90s and early 2000s as a high pitch riff of sorts, and it's more generally what people might use it for now.

The Flyff synth is a simple waveform with a little bit of a layered.. bell sample, maybe? Lots of portamento (glide), reverb, and vibrato.
The Maple Story synth is similar but with no bell layer.
The third synth is pretty different. Hard to say what but it's not a simple waveform.
I think you'll get closest by starting with a sine wave in something like an additive synth, and then add a little bit of extra harmonics there. The thing that really gives these songs a similar feel though is the combination of glide + reverb + vibrato.

This is a little ambitious project I've been working on lately for Halloween. The song is supposed to portray a man waking up in a mysterious forest after a night of binge drinking out of depression.  As the man wanders through this forest looking for a way out, he has inner battles with himself about who he his as a person. At night this causes him to hallucinate his fears. It actually gets pretty crazy and ends with him running into a small alien scout group. The man eventually escapes them at the end. From this moment the main realizes what he needed in life: Inspiration.
Enjoy and don't be afraid to leave feedback. Happy October!

Gotta love them classic 90s bass lines! It's Interesting how you mixed the strings with midi bass and chiptune. Not sure if it works, but I think I like it haha.

I am a fan of meme circle jerks.
I'm not sure I would make it the final boss song though, it might work better as a theme on the way to the final boss.
Do you have a link to your album or game?

Not entirely sure about what I'm going to do with this song, but this is my latest song I've been working on. I may be adding it to the album I'm currently producing, still not sure. I would love to hear (or read) thoughts about this. Maybe some improvements or what you overall liked? Thanks

I love it... a lot! Really like the energy and emotion of this track!
I just think that, sometimes, one of the cymbals is a tiny bit too loud -- I also feel like it's saturated (but maybe I'm wrong). Try to lower the velocity a little to see if it's not better. I'm sure the lead synth could benefit a lot from this change since the cymbal often stops us from focusing on its melody.
If it's going to be part of the album you're currently working on, let me tell you this is another reason for me to look forward to its release

[url=http://www.mattmontag.com/projects-page/nintendo-vst]NES VST is the best plugin for NES, bar none. The problem with other emulation plugins or just trying to get the same sounds with generic synths is that they lack the unique envelope setups and features needed to properly replicate the more advanced and iconic sounds and timbres from the system. Things like abruptly changing the duty cycle of the pulse (at most you can hope for is a PWM LFO or ADSR envelope in an average synth, which isn't the same at all), or narrowing down the width of the noise to get that distinct alternate metallic timbre from it.

How's it going my name is Matt.
I'm brand new to the forums but have been doing remixes for a little while. I've known about ocremix for a while, though never thought of joining the forums till recently. I've been studying guitar for about three years now and am really looking forward to meeting fellow vg music fanatics! I do have a sound cloud if anyone is interested in hearing my stuff. I only have about one remix posted though, the rest is original stuff. If anyone is looking to collaborate or just talk about whatever feel free to message me! Thanks!

If you are willing to buy VST plugins, then I would definitely recommend Zebra2 for its flexibility and ease of use (synthesis demo here), or Serum for its synthesis engine (I have a demo of some experimentation with it). I also rather like Variety of Sounds' free plugins, especially their NastyDLA MKII delay plugin.
