  1. Very relaxing track. You could close your eyes, and see yourself gliding above beautiful scenery under a starry sky. I wasn’t a fan of the voice samples thrown in there as they seemed somewhat distracting. But the voice samples do not take away from how nice and soothing this track is.
  2. This entire track feels like an introduction of a track. It’s a great, haunting, and relaxing guitar piece, but it’s way too short to really invest in.
  3. Freaky intro leading into an awesome rock/electronic arrangement of Half-Life music. Everything about this remix reminds me of an early 90s MS-DOS action adventure game. Whether that’s intentional or not, it’s nothing short of amazing.
  4. This is a bizarre medley. Like you did three separate tracks, and released it as one with virtually no transition between the three tracks. I almost want to put this in Audacity, and separate the Front Line Base portion of this remix because that part of the whole remix was amazing. The other two parts of the remix didn’t really do anything for me.
  5. Misleading title, but it doesn’t matter as this track is an excellent rock track. It’s simple, straightforward rock and roll, and the production is more realistic and smooth compared to the Blaster Master tracks.
  6. I actually kind of liked the panning bass. Made for an interesting introduction to the track. The rest of the guitar work in this track is pretty good. Like Rocket, the quality seems pretty low, and the track seems like it ends too soon.
  7. I’m not used to such low-quality audio from a remix on this site. But I suppose if you picture it as listening to an old school rock track from the 70s on the radio while driving down the road, it’s not so bad. Very short track, almost too short for me to really recommend. The introduction is wonderful though.
  8. And here’s number three in the list of remixes I listened to in my introductory year. This is a very drastic arrangement of the second Ice Cap theme. It’s kind of hard to hear the original melody over all the beats and samples used. The balancing is very uneven, as all I can really hear is the repetitive synth notes being played rapidly in succession throughout.
  9. This is the second track I’ve reviewed that I remember listening to the first year I was introduced to Overclocked. I like the use of the string ensemble, and I remember that being one of the reasons I liked this track back in the day. Not a fan of the percussion samples, but the string ensemble work alone makes this remix worthy of a download.
  10. A remix of a remix of an original. That’s kind of interesting. I almost prefer the first version, Dark Puppetry over this one. Feels like you took out some of the original synth work done. And the ending still seems abrupt to me. A little too safe of a remix (that's actually a remix of a remix) for my tastes.
  11. Oh wow, I actually remember this track from when I was introduced to Overclocked about 12-ish years ago. The kick/bass and the snare is kind of distracting, but I am still glad I rediscovered this track through this review process I’m doing.
  12. The transition to the original material (as short as it is) in this remix didn’t strike me as smooth, but this is still a very nice arrangement. The synth work is great, and at parts, it actually sounds the music is coming from a Super Nintendo game.
  13. Master_Yoshi took most of the words right out of my mouth. The percussion is too loud, and it doesn’t even sound like you tried to make the original track your own. It’s a nice performance, but I wouldn’t call this a remix in the traditional sense.
  14. I like how the first review I see says this remix aged well, and then the second one says it didn’t age well. I think it holds up well enough in this day and age. Great use of piano. Love how it blends with the dark (as indicated in the title) mood created by an electronic rearrangement. The end almost felt like the track was building up to something, and then it ends.
  15. This was an interesting arrangement of an iconic theme like this. The treble does seem abrasive to me at times as well, but it’s not super distracting. I love how the original sound effects, even those not used in Super Mario 64, were incorporated into this remix.
  16. Crulex is right to point out that some of the music in MMX3 was very repetitive, so it always impresses me when artists can stretch out original less than a minute long music into a full-fledged track. Of course this is a medley, so it’s not as if one track is stretched out into three minutes, but you wouldn’t know that without reading the profile. The ending of the track seemed very abrupt to me. Other than that, I really enjoyed this remix. Intense for the right reasons.
  17. This is an excellent “pump you up” rock arrangement. I am absolutely in love with the sentai show vibe already pointed out in the profile. It really sounds like an exciting sentai battle theme, and I love it.
  18. There were parts of this remix that I really liked, and there were parts of this remix I didn’t like. I didn’t like the club dance portions that make you want to have a fun time and dance the night away. Seemed kind of out of place in comparison to the rest of the track, which does an excellent job at expressing a dark and terrifying version of electronic music. The inconsistency of the moods expressed in this remix keep me from fully appreciating it.
  19. This track didn’t really grab me. It almost feels like it was more of experimenting with different samples on top of the melody (which I barely recognize as being inspired by Sonic CD). It’s okay if you want to have some laid back electronic music in the background.
  20. This almost doesn’t even sound like a “video game remix.” It sounds like something I would actually hear in a movie, video game, or even on Broadway. I do agree with RiverSound that there could have been a little more reverb and delay. Lovely and haunting arrangement.
  21. I feel like I’m hearing something Yuzo Koshiro composed in this remix. It’s a little laid back, but it isn’t so slow that it bores me halfway through the track. Groovy, and kind of dark. But in a fun way.
  22. Now this is an excellent trance track. Almost perfect in its production. I almost wouldn’t even know it’s inspired from a video game, let alone one from Bionic Commando. I would love to dance to this at a rave. And I love that the melody isn’t drowned out by the pulsing beats.
  23. The introduction to this track is nothing short of incredible. It really should set a standard for how to do an introduction to a rock remix. The sound levels in this track are great, as nothing seems too quiet, too loud, or too distracting. And I love the Spanish guitar. Overall incredible remix.
  24. This track strikes me as an almost psychedelic chiptune rock experience. I do wish there were more guitar solos like the one from 2:47 to 3:34. Overall, it was a very nice blend of chiptune age music with modern rock.
