I think the ladder effect is too present in this one https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/902318

I'm putting this here because I don't think it really belongs in Poast Your Original Music. Not long ago, I purchased RYM2612 (developed by Inphonik), and I had a lot of fun with it. This is one of the things I did with it. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/900571 For the PSG (square waves), I used Plogue's chipsounds plugin. It is the best you're ever going to find if you want sick pitch bending capability. The toms, kick and snare drums are from TMKD, crushed with RYM2612. The crash cymbal is from Trisamples 808 Trapstep Sample Pack Vol. 2. Any other "percussion" you hear is the PSG noise channel. And yes, it has the ladder effect going on, if you couldn't tell.

https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/899114 Really short, though.

Kinda last minute, but I think I'll take a crack at this. No guarantees.

https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/896747 Short, sweet and bouncy.

Oh, so you're saying she didn't trip over a hot iron...I'm guessing she got fisted instead?

Loop here: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/896595 "Full" version coming soon...
-
Okay, we get it. Cool your tits.

https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/896471 It's not even a remix, but I thought it would be appropriate to poast in this forum instead of "Post Your Original Music!" I used RYM2612 to make this, which I recently purchased due to the fact that it really sounds like the original hardware. It even has a DAC output feature to crush down the drums!

A nice little loop: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/896532 If it skips, it's not the loop. Looping on Newgrounds Audio Portal has been broken since the switch to the HTML5 player (was flash before and worked perfectly).

imma stay. I do get some lols when a thread gets derailed here. Especially the YTP memes. Also gonna expand genres, so it would be good to get the feedback here. It seems Newgrounders have forgotten the purpose of the review section these days...
-
Eh, it's my fault for bitching about shit in the first place. I just need to keep in mind that my ears are different from pretty much anyone else, and what sounds like garbage to me might not be to others. Fuck. I can't stay away. It's pretty chill here. Sorry about that.

With legit sounds, yo https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/896452 You can download from the Newgrounds page. I'm not so sure you can download from SoundCloud these days.

I'm actually done with everything right now. It's been a long time coming, and I can't hold it off anymore. I'm doing stupid shit again, so it's time for yet another hiatus. I'll get back to y'all when this depression blows over. You may still see content from me on Newgrounds, but don't count on me responding to anything unless it's super urgent. I won't even be on the forums there.
-
Maybe you're right... But, then again. I get feedback on Newgrounds a lot. That's how I got to where I am tbh. By the way, I voted for your piece in PRC. Good stuff, but room for improvement, too. I left feedback with my vote. If anything, I may only participate as a voter from here on out to give others feedback. I have my own projects that I've been pushing back for these compos in order to make my presence known. I really need to stop attention whoring and get back to work.

I'm done with PRC, y'all. If you can lose to the objectively worst entry, it's not worth entering anymore. I am severely disappointed with Sonic fans in general right now.

FMDrive vs RYM2612. Also, SN76489?
Seth Skoda replied to Seth Skoda's topic in Music Composition & Production
Like I say below, I have been using the regular chipsounds plugin through sforzando, and I think the pitch bending is fantastic. But I never used trackers, so I've been using MIDI since day one. I guess it just takes some adjustment. I'm considering it for the ladder effect. Unless that's included in Chipsounds MD... I've been using just the regular chipsounds plugin through sforzando so far. Promo code isn't working... I think I missed the sale. It's already December 2nd... -
So, I've heard pros and cons for both. While RYM2612 is more full-featured and offers a better GUI (and better customer service), the price point is higher (€49) than FMDrive (€20). So, which one is really worth it? Also, the other thing: I've been using Plogue's chipsounds plugin for emulation of SN76489. It's very good, especially with pitch bending. Is it the best thing for that, though?
