Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015
Jorito replied to DarkeSword's topic in Competitions
You do miss the chance to show your Killer Studio Chops tho Usually I prefer the more retro sounds of the (S)NES, Mega Drive and so on to work with, guess I'm old I think I'll manage... I'll let it simmer in the back of my head for a day or so, usually something comes out. -

I'll be working on this week's Maverick Astley track... Not sure yet what to do with the source track, might be a bit tricky because it's not very melodic but mostly atmospheric -
Also don't forget to release the trailer... bring the hype

Whohoo! Now let's hope dem judges and dem website can be ready before Halloween 2015
-
Hey, why are XPRTNovice and yours truly not ft.'ed in Damned from the Outset?

Heh, I guess I was a bit too subtle with Rickrolling in this rounds track, everybody missed the second reference. Hint: check around the 3:00 mark -
About the judge panel. How does it exactly work?
Jorito replied to Daniel Pellicer's topic in General Discussion
I'd check with Chimpazilla; just last month I had to submit a track twice because of some technical hickups and she was able to verify for me that my second submit arrived properly in the judges' inbox. -

Maybe that sums up how I feel about music theory, somehow to me it feels like an after-the-fact explanation of 'hey, what did I just do?'. I definitely see the value in having theory that explains why things are the things they are, but not playing an instrument and relying on ears and 12 notes in an octave probably skewed my perception... Anyway, it'd be good for me to learn a bit more music theory at some point, as well as (re-)learning score and a shitload of other stuff. Choices, choices -

Heh, I guess hardly knowing music theory has its positive sides too; at least I don't get confused about scales and keys -

Heh, I wasn't consciously aware about being inspired by bLiNd's track, 't was more that I was feeling fed up with the dubstep thing and I wanted more energy and the DnB transition felt like a good next step. Too bad you missed the second rickrolling -

Not sure if there's more than the 2 Shovel Knight songs by Eino & me in the queue, but a Shovel Knight mixflood might be cool

Fair warning, you will be (subtly) Rick Rolled again in round 3. Incorporating our third source nicely was actually a lot of fun in this track -

You are aware it's called a kickdrum, not a clickdrum, eh? -
Whohoo! Looking forward to the release, hope it doesn't reach the delay epicness of the FF9 album

Only did a cursory listen so far, but let me quote the boss man here to illustrate my feelings: -
Hm, interesting, I was just looking for a guitarist PM'ed!
-
Having worked on this track a bit myself I can definitely agree, it's cool in all its quirkiness and has been stuck in my head for a few days now... also due to some very wacky solo'ing by one mr. McGee. Oh, and just to confirm that I made good progress on the mixing this week and that I feel this track will be finished this month if Eino gives his blessing
-
Pretty sure that Eino's track can be finished this week
