OCR03301 - Sonic Adventure "Red Barrage Aquarium"
Jorito replied to Liontamer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Excellent stuff! Funky song that's a lot of fun, and if you'd told me this came from the OST I would have believed it -
Good call! I'm essentially doing the same (and waiting on some recordings) so it's gonna be an interesting battle between us. Have at you! in all seriousness, I'm very curious what you came up with!

Sweet, 2 rounds with the full set of tracks already and also already 3 tracks for the next round (mine is as good as done, just want to polish it some more).

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
Jorito replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
Quoting myself, this is exactly what I did. Saw the error again and PM'ed details to djp. Again, same issue, short line of text ending in a smiley that gives an internal server error. Remove the smiley and it works fine. -
Man, this is fun! The sources I'm working with (Wicked Child and Heart of Fire) blend really well and there's a good bunch of source material to play with. Me likes. Very excited about what I have so far

Final Fantasy VIII: Collision Course - History
Jorito replied to Brandon Strader's topic in Projects
I'm looking at the track list and the tracks already claimed and all I can say is "wow". -

Hell yeah! If you need anything else than an instrument or vocalist, I'm happy to sign on -

Really tempted to do Eyes On Me, but without any scratch track yet it's hard to start searching a (female) singer. So let's claim on Fragments of Memories in stead. Nice to do a slower, sad, reminiscent song with teh feelz again -

Sweet! Mostly posting here to express interest, no claim yet. Hope I can do a quick relisten of the OST and post a claim this weekend. Let's see if there's anything from the second half that stands out to me -
High five! I'm 99% it's okay to use live instruments or vox or other recorded stuff, I'm guessing it was mostly midi because of choices, skills and deadlines. I know my track is gonna be midi, now that I can't ask WarMachine to play me a solo

Interesting, I'm battling against WarMachine with who I collab'ed on a Castlevania song for Vampire Variations 3 My schedule is pretty busy, so it might mean a weekend allnighter. Hope to squeeze out something enjoyable though!

So I noticed that MindWanderer is already using the forum's calendar to schedule the voting. How about adding the compo rounds themselves to the calendar too? I'm a bit preoccupied atm, and not having to go to the opening post to see the dates would be helpful. Might be interesting to other people too

Cheers mate, I'll check it out. Also good to see some Bitwig streamin' (and some more synth action!). I found the commenting pretty good. Like you said, it's probably very educational for new people, but I also found it cool to see how you work. My only remark is that the overall volume was a bit low and the mic not that clear (at least in the first stream).

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
Jorito replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
Not that one apparently. I saw it twice, one in a PM, once in a thread, with a regular smiley at the end of the line. Both inmulti-line replies. Maybe it was just a server hickup, I dunno. If I see it again I'll make note of the timestamp, maybe that's of some use for djp to check the logs -

I also saw it twice. It seems to b0rk if you end your text with a smiley. -
I'd like to watch it, but I'm at work atm. Are you going to archive your streams for later view? I'd be game for that!

Speeding Towards Adventures: 25 Years of Sonic the Hedgehog - History
Jorito replied to Black_Doom's topic in Projects
I'm mostly waiting for recordings (vox, drums) and then I can complete the mixing and mastering. Hope to be fully done in the next few weeks. -
It would even the odds for the rest of us poor folks in the bracket that don't have holidays though Funnily enough, in the last MMX compo I also had a holiday for my first track, but my second track scored higher when I literally hardly had any time to make it

Yay, Spacesynth! It's cool to see another Spacesynth & Italo enthusiast around here. I'm not that familiar with the source, but it definitely has this Laserdance-like vibe to me. Good job (apart from the notes on the timecodes that Larry mentioned), enjoyed it! Also great to know that you don't need (want) expensive synths and samples for this but freebies are all you need
-
Noooooooooh, he's a precious resource that you have to use sparingly! Although I do not rule out I might ask him (or any one of the other 14 people I collab'ed with ;))
-
Quick Q: is the compo solo only or is one allowed to bring in session musicians to record the parts that you wrote?
-
I'm happy to help out. I like to collab and it's a cool source tune I'm no instrumentalist and work strictly in the box in a range of styles. Check my Soundcloud to get an idea, if needed.

I'm also in the retro branch, but I don't see any participant called 'Woe' in there

Was pleasantly surprised the remix period is 2 weeks, where I expected one. That makes my remixes less of a rush job so that can only mean they will be better quality, rite?
