Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos - History

Nope, the back is fine. Also, I think the gold works, instead of the bonus stage spheres, the color could represent Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. -

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos - History

READ CAREFULLY EVERYONE This will be a 3 (THREE) disc album. Since I do want to have a CD version, the only way to really make it work would be to split it into 3 discs. And the best way to get THAT done, is to create a second album. So yes, there will be the primary Project Chaos album, and the secondary Project Chaos Special album. I think the competition themes and the most notable of the WIPs should be included and showcased, not tacked on to the end of the album. The primary album will be 2 CDs, 10 to 11 tracks each. It will be broken up by Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. I've really been driving myself nuts trying to figure out how to make a CD release out of this, and this is really the only way. We'll need to make TWO album covers, tracklists should be EMPTY till I sort out what track will go into what album. I am going with Spire's designs, so all your suggestions should go to him. Third disc should be gold. Everything else is up to everyone who's interested in the art. -
nope, the carvin is back home, here (vacation house) I'm playing my friend Norg's ESP. The active EMGs are pretty much the only pickups I can plug into guitar rig without a pre-amp and have them sound good. (them or the active unit that my Carvin runs on)

Remix volume question
SnappleMan replied to Rennoc_Attamenski's topic in Music Composition & Production
If you didn't realise from the beginning that -1dB was an extreme exagerration then you should start reading more of my posts, kimosabe! -
Well, he's Steve Vai... I never could really learn from watching him play because his hands don't move like normal humans. All you gotta remember is that the more of the strings that your hand is resting on, the more you'll choke the sound. Lemme give you a couple of examples so you know what I mean. www.inverteddungeon.com/triacesuperfan/SnappleMan/shitty.mp3 The first bit of crap is standard muting technique, then I do a bunch of muted chords, the first is lightly muted, like you would mute any normal note, but as you can hear, the more I move my palm onto the strings, the more badass it sounds! Then you get to hear a typical application of set technique!..... sorry about the sloppy playing and bad tone, it's past 5am and I haven't slept yet.

That's called chocking the strings. It's like palm muting only you move your hand father into the body. The farhter you move from the bridge, the more chocked the strings will get. Also, be sure to kill the resonance with your left hand as well, you don't want those heavy bass overtones to fill the air. So yeah, bring your picking hand farther onto the strings when you're muting, and mute the strings with your fretting hand so they dont resonate after each chug. Not hard to do, but it takes a little practice.

Remix volume question
SnappleMan replied to Rennoc_Attamenski's topic in Music Composition & Production
Dream Theater does some of the best mixing and mastering I've ever heard. Maybe since they produce all their own albums they actually care to preserve the dynamics as much as possible? -
Remix volume question

Do me a favor and open any professionally mastered track between 2001 and now. Open it in Audition or whatever will let you see the wavform. It's a square world, my friend. -
OGG IS LOSSLESS NO ARTIFACTS, N00B! lol

Remix volume question
SnappleMan replied to Rennoc_Attamenski's topic in Music Composition & Production
God created the volume knob for a reason. You should always be more concerned about doing a good mixing job rather than a good mastering job. If you mix everything properly there will be little to no need for mastering unless you really want to exagerrate the sound. Sparing you a long and confusing lecture about mixing and mastering, there are two ways to check the volume of a track. The first is Peak volume, this measures the maximum volume of the track by checking the peaks of the waveform (the point where your song is the loudest). The second way is RMS volume, or the "average" level of your song, which I think is different than calculating the average of a song, but for all intensive purposes, the RMS is the overall power of the song. A high RMS means LOUD ASS SHIT!!! So if your track comes to a -1dB RMS, you need to turn down your FLStudio and chillax. -

I guess it's time I started looking into album art. Spire really captured almost exactly what I wanted of an album cover. I love the use of the original game font!! but then again, we'll see. I'll contact people soon and see what I think is best to use as a cover. -

Looking for mixer reccomendations
SnappleMan replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in Music Composition & Production
Considering Taucer here records acoustic guitars and other instruments, I would think that a pre-amp is more important to him than a mixer. But having said that, a pre-amp is pretty infuriating when you have multiple instruments to record (which all require different gain, EQ and volume settings). Knowing you and the direction in which you are headed, I'd say it's a good idea to invest in a mixing console of sorts. Mackie makes a great product, but the problem is that everyone knows they do, so you'll be paying for the name more than the product. Solution? HAH! Remember who you're talking to, Taucer! I suggest you look at..... CARVIN MIXING CONSOLES... http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=sm162 Carvins mixers are all hand-built in the USA with the best parts in the industry. The important thing you should care about is that they've always been regarded as some of the best mixers to record acoustic guitars through. For $250 it gives you enough inputs for guitars, basses, vocals and if you also get a nice multi output audio interaface, you can mix all your tracks in very nice analog fashion. Not to mention the quality you'll get. So yeah, my recommendation to you is that thing. .... ... Carvin should be paying me for all the advertising I do for them -

SnappleMan replied to The Vagrance's topic in Music Composition & Production
Ewww That's a waste of $600 if I do say so myself. You are much better off buying a REAL instrument for that amount of money. But what do I know, I'm just an asshole. -

I had a talk with DJPretzel a few days ago, and we've decided it be best to let OCR1500 go first. So once that's done and sunk in, we'll start the release process. The website is done save for filling in the info and uploading the tracks to it. All mirrors will get the tracks early, once everyone is uploaded we will set up the site, take off the protection and let it loose on the world. -

The Ultimate software ?
SnappleMan replied to Shiro_Utsumi's topic in Music Composition & Production
ReMix.exe , it has a built in search engine that scours the VGMusic database. All you do it type in the name of a game, then chose from a list of MIDIs, click ReMix and it does all the work for you. -
