It's rendering 480 video while the console runs in an HD resolution. It's inherently applying anti-aliasing to the image. It's upscaling the signal. That's what upscaling is.

Yeah. For stuff like Sonic 3 where Act musics are clearly just remixes, it's fine. But if you've got an Act music that is basically a completely different song, then it's no go.

Well it's not even that. It's just that aside from all the nickel-and-dime bullshit EA does as a publisher, the quality of their releases (aside from say, the recent SimCity) is pretty good.

Actually the games will probably be decent enough.

Those games you like are from a couple of years ago. EA as a publisher doesn't really take risks like that anymore.

I'm going to put people on teams. That's why I asked for both MM and Sonic selections.

As a publisher they have a tendency to interfere with the development of games by implementing rules about integrated-DRM (SimCity's always-on debacle), DLC (Mass Effect 3's "From Ashes" day-one DLC being so integral to the story), stifling creativity by allowing marketing to dictate artistic decisions (Dead Space 3 switching gears from moody survival horror to yet-another-third-person action game) and in-game real-money transactions (Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, Dead Space 3, etc.). It's not that they make bad games (personally I'm a big fan of Mass Effect 3), it's just that generally they have a lot of anti-consumer practices that kludge things up.
