It's rendering 480 video while the console runs in an HD resolution. It's inherently applying anti-aliasing to the image. It's upscaling the signal. That's what upscaling is.

Yeah. For stuff like Sonic 3 where Act musics are clearly just remixes, it's fine. But if you've got an Act music that is basically a completely different song, then it's no go.

Well it's not even that. It's just that aside from all the nickel-and-dime bullshit EA does as a publisher, the quality of their releases (aside from say, the recent SimCity) is pretty good.
