Songs for an Album or Something...

there's still room in the lowend for more sauce. generally it is good to think of the entire EQ spectrum as a a series of curves with the bell curve being the principle curve used to define which frequencies will be cut and which will be boosted in the mix. the end goal is to create a "flat" frequency response that sounds "good" on all devices... of course, you can also ignore this approach entirely and create a sonic weapon with the right approach too, lol https://www.edmprod.com/eq-guide/ -

sounds good compositionally mixing is a bit loud on the high end -
not a remix (yet), just a reconsideration of how to approach an iconic track... I have also done some preliminary tests using an onion instead of a potato and it shows great promise. Because the onion (unlike the potato) consists of concentric rings, it is possible to stab it just the right way with 1/4" instrument cables such that the tips occupy the same ring and conduct along that ring selectively. The membrane that exists within the interstitial space between onion rings acts somewhat like an insulator such that the sleeve(s) of the cable are able to ground together without interrupting the signal of the tip as much as the potato. Future recordings using 3 electric guitars as a microphone will incorporate both the potato for its natural distortion and amplification qualities, as well as the onion for its tonal quality. And I do love good quality onion rings...

Thank you! This track is part of an analog alt-project wherein I record piano but the microphone is 3 electric guitars. The signal path is then pushed through a high-voltage gain-stacked potato to create the abyssal sounds (yes, a potato). There are some videos on my youtube that explain how I accomplish this and it's very simple, all things considered. The tracks are mostly just single practice takes that I'm doing for fun, but I am currently working on an album with more structure (and vocals) to be published in the (hopefully) near future. Anyway! There are more tracks on my youtube and I also have a soundcloud for "the microphone is 3 electric guitars". Enjoy! p.s. i have a bandcamp too: https://100-percent-roemer.bandcamp.com/

The one-and-only "Potato Pedal" It's a potato juiced from 0 and 45 volts with 1/4" inputs Any type of potato works - size is inversely proportional to signal strength You can briefly warm the potato in a microwave beforehand to add warmth to the tone Potato in use:
