  1. IAS % stacks, of course. It just doesn't benefits your damage as much as you character sheet makes it out to be. It bloats the numbers.
  2. I hope OneUp picks something I can mix for the next PRC. I'm aching to mix something.
  3. Attack speed is often misleading as a damage increase. Attack speed only shows its true benefits when you are standing there just casting or shooting, and on inferno we all know that is nearly impossible unless you're running with a group with good tanks. Attack speed reduces the cast time of abilities tho, so it makes you cast and kite easier, but it's not a direct damage increase as the tooltips and damage number in your character sheet makes it out to be. However, there are some exceptions for IAS on some abilities where it acts as a direct damage increase. For example, Hydra benefits directly from IAS. The spells that benefit the most from IAS are channeled spells and abilities, and as far as I remember the DH has none.
  4. No but I got some achievements I don't deserve, like getting the blacksmith to level 10. I left it at level 6 or 7 yet after the patch I got the achievement.
  5. Yeah I just got my wizard to lvl 60 and boy is it easy mode with a ranged character. I expect to fly past act 2 this week.
  6. hm. Now I wonder if they received my submissions. Oh well. I don't really feel like emailing them about it.
  7. BTW there was a hotfix today that disabled the increased damage from mobs in cooperative games. This should make melee classes' life easier when doing cooperative games. I shelved my barbarian for a while, might try it out again now and see how it feels when going in a party.
  8. Meh I dislike magic missile cuz its so boring, but I know where you're coming from with this. more ap = more meteors I like some aspects of this build, and I will try it out but I will switch out magic weapon for my trusty slow time. When you get in a pinch it acts both as a damage increase and escape ability along with teleport/mirror image.
  9. I'm levelling up my wizard for inferno, almost at a3 hell now. Is there any build out there that uses meteor and works? I'm running this build at the moment http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UkgROP!aYf!ZaZbbZ I mostly wait for a champ pack to appear, if I can attack first then I drop 2 meteors and a hydra from the edge of the screen, that leaves most of them ready to be melted with lightning. If they attack first, I drop slow time, drop the meteors+ hydra then mirror image out. Run around a bit to recover my health while they are busy with the duplicates and when the cooldowns are ready I just repeat the process. We'll see if this works on inferno, most wizards are just running blizz+hydra atm but there are certainly others viable ways to progress. I am currently looking into replacing forked lightning because as we know most spells that require you to stand there and cast are pretty bad with how things are atm (one shots and such). Any suggestions?
  10. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6262208/Patch_103_Design_Preview-6_6_2012#blog Moving in the right direction. I still have faith.
  11. Enjoy Cleave and WW while you can bro. It won't last much longer.
  12. You want to check the diablofans.com Forums. Here's a tip to getting through hell quicker: go to the AH, and get new weapons and armor. Since you're a witch doctor set the filter for intelligence and vitality, and the buyout amount to 5k-10k I assure you will find awesome gear for your character for less than 5k at that level that will be an upgrade for anything you brought from nigthmare, and it will help you faceroll Hell. I pimped up my wizard for less than 20k and I'm facerolling act 2. Also, here's a spreadsheet for comparing items for witch doctors courtesy of diablofans: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AtSFZM2UJ5OJdGFnWXVLTTRocDJFZk8tanduOHlBVXc&toomany=true#gid=0 If you really want to know the inner workings of your class or what specs are viable you should really visit those forums and read up a bit.
  13. well, I couldn't take any more psychological punishment so I switched my beloved offhand for a lame ass shield. Killed a few champs already, steadily progressing. The Bul-Kathos looked down on me in disgust as he shed a tear today.
  14. It depends on your attack speed. Your dps isn't averaged. You do 1 attack with one hand and 1 attack with the other, this plus the 15% attack speed makes it almost even. You deal more damage if your attack speed is very high. This is how it should work for Dual wielding barbarians, you get 30% attack speed from dual wield, then you get 30% from a 5 stack of frenzy, that's 45% faster attacks , more with speed affixes affixes and it yields more dps than 1h and shield.
  15. I guess I can complain about the game not allowing me to play a barbarian as they should be played? I mean, there are VERY few barbarians out there that are happy about being sword and board, must of them just tolerate it to be able to progress. When people think about a barbarian they think about a big guy smashing faces not a wimp that only can tank a lot of damage while chipping away at enemies for pitiful damage. I'm not really trying to seem overly angry about the whole deal because I'm really not, I love the game for the most part, its just frustrating to see every other class living up to their archetype AND making progress much quicker. But I have faith it will get fixed, Barbs will be back to their 2H and dual wielding goodness soon. In the meantime, I'll spend more time levelling up my other characters so I can farm better in the later acts and get enough gold for my barbarian.
  16. Ever heard of revenge? It's one of those mandatory abilities for barbarians. Yes, it heals you. Also Charge+dreadnought heals you as well. Also, I have 500 life on hit atm, which is supposed to have synergy with frenzy and dual wielding (speed boosts). I know how to play, I know how to kite, and duh of course I will not be running to unexplored territory while kiting . Problem is, the only way I can heal as a barbarian is by getting hit or hitting mobs, and if getting close to hit them means dying well you get the idea. Monks need to get close to gain spirit for their heal, but monks can stack dodge and resistance easier. Stacking dodge on barbarians is bad because your healing DEPENDS on you getting hit. Believe me I understand how barbarians work, I have done my homework extensively. As i said, I'm not advancing because 1-Barbarians are much more gear dependent than any other class ATM and 2-I am not using a shield.
  17. I have 46k hp, 12k dps 600 resists and 8k armor. I have good dps and ALL my talents including passives are defensive oriented (minus frenzy). I get killed by all champ packs on act 2. why? well for starters im a barbarian, and also I'm not wearing a shield. So yeah...
  18. Look at the Inferno slideshow. It specifically says CRAZY BUILDS. Jay Wilson says this builds would work through the game and specifically on inferno. They are talking about this working on inferno. And again, Inferno is not uber trist. You did uber trist after you've ubered your character. You're doing inferno so you can uber you character. This is not "extra challenge", this is part of the progression. EDIT: You can hear the crazy builds portion a bit before, around 9 min mark. So yeah, I really dunno what happened with Blizzard and Inferno balance. It only takes 15 minutes of play to realize that you can only progress with an optimal build.
  19. I just remembered the last Blizzcon where they were talking about viable builds and how you could be a melee wizard or petless wd and such. Yeah right. I can't even be a real Barbarian atm. 10 min mark. Hilarious when you see the current situation of Inferno.
  20. Yeah, SOE is a very well-known Barb item because its good and also because its the only legendary worth paying for (it gives a really good boost to everything a barbarian needs at the moment, which is survival stats) EDIT: Well, there's also Stormshield but fuck that. In my mind a barbarian wearing a shield is not a barbarian. I'm gonna finish this game on inferno as DW or not finish it at all.
  21. Nice axe. I've yet to find a good 1h that I can afford to change one of my 500 dps ones. Overpower is good and does decent healing but you have to build a decent crit amount to make use of it' date=' also you might lose some mobility spells like leap. Im running this build currently [url']http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WSXVkP!VbX!ccaccZ Which allows me to leap on elites, unload everything and get out, regen a bit while kiting then get in and unload again. The maniac rune made a huge difference for me, it is really great for DW barbs.
  22. Butcher was no problem at all, killed it on the first try just like every other time. I've bene in too many wow raids to get killed by a boss fight where all you have to do is get out of bad stuff. I pop man mode twice in the fight to get the DPS I need and I don't have to get to the enrage timer. The hard part was getting there with 5 NV stacks, since champs and elite packs > bosses. But I can manage now.
  23. Beat Inferno butcher, got to act 2, back to being oneshotted. But at least i can farm inferno butcher without too many deaths now.
  24. Yeah that's like... against everything that made diablo a lasting game. Suppose you're not a hardcore player just a normal gamer. You beat diablo 2, what's next? you can go up till you beat it in hell, which isn't too difficult. You go and do that, whats next? next comes the item hunt! the most engaging part of a diablo game and what kept people playing this game for years and still keeps them playing. If Inferno is made to be unbeatable, where's diablo 3's replayability and lasting appeal? If only 1% of the playerbase can beat inferno, then only 1% of the playerbase will be allowed to take part in the most interesting aspect of a diablo game, the item hunt and the character building. Does Blizzard really wants only that tiny percentage of the playerbase playing for the years to come? Your character isn't maxed out when you beat hell, your character is just ready to be built into whatever you want.
  25. oooh so you are bestrader. I already added you WE'VE PLAYED VIDEOGAMES TOGETHER ALREADY YO. I just didn't know it was you. Yeah for normal through the first acts of Hell you can pretty much do any build you want and you will be fine. Inferno becoming trivial wouldn't be an issue if the system behind it is fun. Diablo 2 Hell wasn't nearly as difficult as D2 inferno, yet people played it for years because the loot hunt was fun. That's what I'd like to see this game change, make it more about loot hunting and getting interesting loot to build your character exactly the way you want and less about getting gold to buy items in the AH to be able to progress.
