  1. This song made me scared... I don't mean it like "Oh yeah it was creepy." or, "Yeah it sounded scary-esque".... No, this song actually made me too scared to walk around my room when it was dark after hearing it. This is the first song that I wouldn't listen to after a certain time for I knew it would leave me with insomnia. Though by now, after hearing it several times, it's much less scary and much more awesome. The note hitting near the end about 2:58 has the perfectforeboding sound to it (I know there is a musical term for it, but at this point in time I know not what it is known as). Truly great material. Would make excellent cinematic music.
  2. I usually don't like rap, or at least most of the mainstream stuff, but this mix put a smile on my face (which borderlines impossibility) from the moment I hit "play". Seriously though, this is one of my favorite mixes. Very creative stuff from a guy who sorta has the same name as I do.
  3. This is THE song to listen to when you're feeling blue, it describes that emotion better than any combination of words in any language in the universe. I got this song some time ago during a very tough, hopeless romantic stage in my life, and I found no other sympathy from any other person quite like I did with this one song. "Love Hurts" hits the nail on the on the very epicenter of the head with a needle, the emotion conveyed is just that.
  4. If you're down, listen to this song, It will give your life meaning again. There's no other way to describe it. It's that good. The different chord progression was eay to recognize, while at the same time it's relatively easy to hear the original in there. Given the mood of the song (which is a mood of its own, there is nothing that could produce something quite like it), I think it perfection. Trying to imgine the original in there doesn't seem to fit as well. A good call by DJP. Easily one of my favorite songs by who is quickly becoming my favorite artist, a definate accomplishment of truly marvelous proportions.
  5. My goodness, I'm in tears, this is indeed a glorious day for OCR.
  6. This song also holds a very personal spot in my heart (Yes... it does exist) as it was released after a very big breakup in my life. I got the song not long after it all happened, and it was on every CD I burned thereafter. For a time, it was pretty much all I was able to listen to. Slow, yet engaging; calm and serene, yet it sends you on a roller coaster of emotions. The kind of song you could listen to while walking through a rainy night. I think Vigilante knew exactly what he was trying to get out of this mix, and he did just that. I always enjoyed the Metroid theme after Ailsean's "Metaltroid", but this song really has taken it to a whole new level. I played this song to get some "calm" music going as I did some work, yet I couldn't concentrate, I just had to sit and listen (Especially at about 3:58, where it really picks up the pacing). Yes, this song is that good. Easily one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard in my entire life.
  7. Absolutely hilarious. I must give this song to a friend of mine, he plays nothing but FF games, so he'll probably pull a 9mm on me for it but it'll be worth the laugh. Joe Redifer should join a friars club.
  8. trenthian, ah yes, he's seemed to become quite popular round here, probably for his work with One Winged Angel (which is very good, might i add). i'm defiantely liking this, throws you in a loop between genres, though i would say it gears towards orchestral more than others. i really like the sound effects in here, especially around 3:47 where it really hits the mark. very awesome, im defiantely looking forward to seeing more from trenthian.
  9. i believe this to be among those tracks i find to be the pinnacle of mankind's dream to create music. though it definately has a very special niche, it's definately beyond greatness.
  10. i seem to remeber this posted some time ago as a WIP.. since then i can clearly tell you've cleaned it, polished it, and made it run much smoother, very nice, i love it.
  11. this reminds me of the "Blackbird" WIP you (Dhsu, or i think it was you...) posted awhile back. not as depressing, but certainly hits that button. and always very good. another good song to kill yourself too, im beginning to wonder where the motive for such depressing music comes from....
  12. i thought thie initial drums (or whatever they are) were a little bit too strong and made the excellent guitar work hard to hear. anyway, defiantely something... different.... not bad, just different. if i didnt know who did this mix i woulda screamed "Mustin!!"
  13. Mr. Yamori is quickly becoming one of my favorite remixers (this started with the magnificant "Saturday Night Speedway") and this track only further improves my admiration for him as a mixer. nice stuff. Very slick.
  14. If I were to describe this track I would call it an "audible seizure", and it almost gave me one. Loud, harsh, and downright filthy sounding, this is one of the memorable ReMixes on site (opinion) for its glass-breaking percussion. Even the most dirty and unpleasant noises come alive in this piece without sounding ugly. Excellent, excellent work. Most certainly not for those who want something easy on the ears.
  15. I remeber awhile back someone requested this track ReMixed. i hope thy're happy now, cuz this song does a pretty good job of doing just that.
  16. so dramatic, i can feel the sweat dripping from the ends of my fingers, this wold've made an excellent final battle theme for FFX. regardless, i still fail to tell what track this is from, i bet i'll figure it out eventually. VERY nice work.
  17. love it, really love it. this is one of the few mixes that i can honestly say it has a good ending. Add to that the transitions are really good (specially the first one)
  18. The first half of the track honestly reminded me off the "Gladiator" soundtrack. The ending was VERY eerie as well nice work, i liked it.
  19. 1000 strong and what a kickin track to put it on. i dunno why ppl keep complaining bout the sax, i think it's PERFECT. its adding another reason why i m gonna learn to play (sax that is) major bonus to DJP (we're not worthy!! we're not worthy!!) for a kickin tune. ((BTW, i think your sig is the funniest thing in existence, neostormx))
  20. Sheer insanity. I hated that tiresome screaming, but the rest was AWESOME. btw, i laughed my ass off at the end with the "Stupid game." one-liner. BONUS!!
  21. awesome track, i love the bells in the first half on the track. The engine sounds and voices in the intor were an awesome way to bring in the melody. DANG I LOVE THOSE BELLS!!
  22. very smooth and very mellow. quite an interesting take on an FFVII track.
  23. Amazing, absolutely amazing. your voice gets a little cracky and whiney, but i aint gonna complain, this is a VERY good piece of fine, dramatic music. BONUS!!
  24. Good Lord i love this mix..... *listens again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again..........(you get the picture)*
