http://www.videogaming247.com/2008/10/17/sony-littlebigplanet-to-be-recalled-on-global-level/ SCEE has just confirmed to VG247 that shipped LittleBigPlanet units are to be recalled on a global level thanks to a licensed track in the game containing two “expressions” from the Qur’an. SCEE has made a just made a statement on the issue, saying the game will be delayed as a result of the issue, but hasn’t confirmed a new release date as yet: Quote: During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused. It was thought this afternoon that shipped units of the game were to be pulled back in Europe, but the move will be made “worldwide,” Sony’s just told us. When asked how many units are to be recalled, a SCEE rep said, “We haven’t been given any figures.”. Yikes

Good metal/rock guitar pugin(s)
Nekofrog replied to Tarnish's topic in Music Composition & Production
How do they do it? Real guitarists. There are many here who would happily offer their services should you require them. Myself included, depending on the level of work. -
Starcraft Starcraft II They're two different games that fall into the same genre. I would hope that the mechanics would be very different, otherwise why make a sequel to begin with? Just make another expansion.

WIP-Releases: Feedback, Discussion + ?s
Nekofrog replied to Liontamer's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I've come to the conclusion that honestly, the only thing that can save the WIP boards (whether or not they need saving is another debate) is more judge interaction. Outside of the actual judge posts, there's never any actual feedback on the WIP boards. It's almost as if most simply ignore it. You can get some good advice from amateurs like me, but when it comes to the real pros, their presence is pretty much absent. -
But that honestly teaches you nothing of tactics. The SP campaigns in the first one taught you what unit does what, how to use this there, and what kind of terrain has advantages and what have you. This will just be throwing the player out into a lake to teach them to swim.

The only thing that worries me about this is the multiplayer. When SC first came out, you could get a handle on each races thanks to the single player campaign and being able to choose which race's campaign to play whenever. With this, you won't be able to, you'll have to do that IN multiplayer mode; learning as you go. Huh?

Final Fantasy 7 'Jenova Project APPROVED'
Nekofrog replied to Nekofrog's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
NEW VERSION: http://www.yousendit.com/download/bV...Z2pFd2RFQlE9PQ The song has taken a different direction that originally intended. It is no longer simply Jenova. It is now a hybrid of FF7's Jenova and Xenogears' Omen (a tune that I've already remixed and will be on the site soon...), and I think it has turned out quite well. The old issues that I've addressed are still being worked on; most notably the drums. There will be changes from what you hear in this WIP, but in general the structure is set in stone. Critiques? -
K, keep me informed.

Still available.

I'd give anything to play like Michael Romeo.

And the Wii gets a fighting game. Somehow karma is balanced. -
Final Fantasy 7 'Jenova Project APPROVED'
Nekofrog replied to Nekofrog's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
New version: http://www.yousendit.com/download/bVlDWUhndWMwZ2xjR0E9PQ I'll have a more permanent link up soon, but that one should work fine for now. Summation: The bit at 1:16 with the flangy cleans over the bass will likely be altered, it's just a placeholder for now. Drums before 1:42 will be changed in the final version Harmonizing leads at 1:53 will be changed, they're placeholders 2:20 is bare because I just finished laying down the rhythm tracks for it. Of course I will layer other stuff over it eventually. Just wanted to update everyone as to the status of this piece, it isn't being ignored -
Gearbox, POD, it's all good. Line6 has some really amazing stuff for the guitarist who can't afford thousands in tubes, monitors, and mixers. Just make sure you get a good set of mixing headphones ($80 at least).

Sorry guys, the money has been sent and the laptop will be on its way soon.
-
Sold! Lock this up, thank you atmuh.
-
Unfortunately atma has dibs on it first (he expressed interest in IRC first), and he says he'll send the money tonight. Failing that, you're next in line. HD isn't tremendously huge, it's 40GB.
-
Not sure how old it is, but it has spent most of its life either off or plugged into a wall in sleep mode, so it really hasn't been used very much.

This'll be my last FS for a bit. Have a Dell Latitude D600 that's in fantastic shape. Stats: 1.6 GHz Pentium M 512MB RAM Radeon 9000 It's older, but decent. Won't play HL2 or Doom 3, but it can play stuff like GTA and the like. I can also do the following to it: Fresh install of XP SP2, with any version of Office you like, and any other apps you might request for it (photoshop, paintshop pro, etc). Can include a USB optical mouse (dell), and obviously comes with charger. The keyboard is in fantastic shape, it's clean, and has no scratches on the screen. Only asking $50+$10 shipping. $60 for a laptop like this is a steal, I think.

Let me know. Trying to raise enough money to pay the car insurance before the 19th...
-
$15 + $5 shipping. Don't be a sucker and buy it new for $50 because GameStop has a monopoly on these things like I did I've dealt with many people here, and have many references on eBay as well as sevenstring.org's sales forums should you want to see 'em.

What upcoming project are you hyped about the most?

By the time I found that one all the tracks were taken > : T -
A truer truth was never truthed.

Have you ever cried because a song was THAT good?
Nekofrog replied to LuketheXjesse's topic in General Discussion
I've got to be the only person in the world to have LAUGHED when Aeris was killed. I remember thinking in 1997, that the game was trying to manipulate me into caring about a character I had in my party for a grand total of like five minutes. Good tunage, but hamfisted attempt at tragedy. -

Same here; DKC1 is the first game soundtrack I actually found myself trying to record with a tape recorder up to the TV. Wait, no, I did that with FF3 first, and THEN DKC1.
