  1. Super Mario Sunshine - Delphino Disaster (TriumphOfBowser) by mDuo
  2. No. It's nicely arranged, but unfortunately this could pass for a high quality .midi or a mid quality .spc. OCR demands more.
  3. I'll tell you one thing, it's got a cool title . . . -djp Hey, you may remember me from a while back, way back when OCR was orange, I showed the forums a half- assed, half-done Magus remix done using ModPlug Tracker. I had no knowledge of rhythm, timing, or notation. Needless to say, I scrapped it, and vowed never to attempt to create music again. It's been about two years now, and I'm sorry to say that my musical talent is still at pretty much the same level. This is actually my first remix ever, and perhaps the first piece of music I ever actually finished. I don't expect this to be posted on the first go; but I'd really appreciate feedback and tips: About the song, it's the theme from the town of Zozo from FF3/6. The name's a reference to the fact that it's the place where all the poor people live. It was originally going to be a funk/rock remix, but it mutated into.. something else. With a clarinet. I don't know where that came from. Seriously. -Osman "PsiOsman" Keshawarz
  4. Yes yes yes. Beautiful arrangement, beautiful instruments, beautiful style. This is one of those rare pieces that supercedes OC quality. I swear, if this doesn't get posted, then I quit.
  5. Greetings AP I just noticed that it looks like a lot of the submissions around the first week of October seem to have fallen through the cracks.. Well I submitted one around about that time and I'm just wondering if you could check up on it for me? The song's called "Interdit" and it's an Afro-Cuban style mix of the Opening Theme and "Le Tresor Interdit" from the game Radical Dreamers. It can be found at the following URL: Thanks for your time, I know you judges are really busy -~•Jaroban•~-
  6. No. Too empty. Your drums are fine, and your instruments for the main tune are fine, but they sound more like background additions than centerpieces. The vocals are a nice touch, however. Add some more insturments, toss in some improv. This mix has potential, so don't send it to the recycle bin just yet. For now, there's just not enough going on here and the minimalist approach (if that's what you were aiming for) wasn't quite carried off effectively.
  7. No. I like the disco cowbell thingy and I want to find it for myself. That's the only good I saw in this (despite the fact that it has no place here).
  8. No. Why is this even here? Yeah, I know that sounds mean, but it's a legitimate question. Why was this even given to us?
  9. This is one of them weird mixes that pops up on OCR every once in a while. Here's where the objective and the subjective compete and intertwine a bit. It is beautifully arranged, and it does stay true to the orginial Forest of Illusion, but I'm not diggin' the slightly chaotic nature of this tune. That, as strange as it sounds, is a matter of personal taste and does not reflect the technical merits of the song. Either it's that or I just don't want to be the odd man out. You decide that one. I'll decide this one. Yes.
  10. Daniel said "yes" to a song? Mark this day on your calendars, people...
  11. Hey, this is Section Nemesis from the forums, i've submitted my mix about two months ago, but I think it didn't went through. It might just be my brain twirling around in my head or somethin', but i'm just making sure it's still on the wait list, instead of being completely off it. Alrite', so here is the information: Remixed From: Legendary Super Warriors. Format: Gameboy Color. Song's Name: Final Flex. Remixer's Handle: Nemesis. Link to the Mix itself: Everything else: Everything else should be inside the song's ID3 tags. This is my first submission, as well as my first ReMix itself. I hope it's satisfactory, and I hope you all will enjoy it. Thank you for your time, ~ Nemesis.
  12. I'm gonna wild guess Fruity Loops on this one. Why? It sounds like something I'd have put together. The bassline, the beatdrop, the stereo separation...it all has a very "ap" feel to it. So it's a given that I like it okay. What's NOT a given is that despite my efforts, I've yet to be posted because my songs are always missing something. It's a cool interpretation, no doubts. But that's all it is. It's more of an interpretation of the original using new instruments instead of a remix/rearrangement. The part from 1:27-2:02 toys with some subtracting of notes and an original string flow in the background, but I don't know if that's enough. It'dve been nice to see this one posted, but it seems like it needs just a biiit more. Sorry, gotta say no to this one.
  13. Ok, this is the second time. Its been about 1 month 2 weeks now since I sent my remix, and i thought now would be an ok time to contact someone. If you could do something about this, that would be great. Here is the info. Name of Mix: DreamsOfIce Video Game: Donkey Kong Country System: SNES Website: Song mixed: Ice Cave Theme Other: Mixed for the winter season. Thanks again, for helpin me out. ~nex
  14. Holy shit, yes! What we have here is a short but VERY sweet rendition of "Time's Scar", the intro music to Chrono Cross. The only downside is that it plays more like a demo than an actual song. I say this beacause of it's short playing time and the fade out at the end. The song is slightly repetitive, but in retrospect, so is the original and this is only 15 seconds longer than that (which is all trailing silence). Other than that, this is a definite poster! I'm holding my vote for now. Why? The trailing silence. I have emailed the artist and asked him to cut the silence at the end and send me an updated link. If/when he complies, I will update you all and change my vote...so if this gets four "no's" right away, hold the phone.
  15. Hey I submitted a song like 1month and a half ago maybe 2 months. I haven't heard anything back about the song. Please let me know if it's bad atleast so I can fix it. If you do get it this time can you atleast give me a little priority since I sent it a while ago? Here is the song: I have a few more that i can sumbmit but im waiting for the OK on this one first. artist: Marc Star *NOTE* Sorry to Mr. Star. Won't happen again sir. At least not till the next time...I kid.
  16. No. I'm not caring for this. It's the arrangement as a whole. The stop/start nature of short note echoing chiptunes isn't helping either. The beatdrop is boring and repetitive. It's like if I were to pound my fist on the desk over and over. The ending isn't a cut off, but it's waaayy too abrupt. It's just... Oh, it may just be my EQ settings, but I think the bassline that enters around 0:46 maybe above peak levels. And one last thing. This song DOES contain a drumloop but not so much that the whole song is dependent upon it. I DID want to make sure I came to the artist's defense on that.
  17. Back in the first week of October I submitted a Final Fantasy IV remix entitled Boss Beats Floor and I was wondering whether it fell through the cracks. It's up at (the first link at the top, pretty well marked.) Anyhow, if you could let me know what the status is then I would be quite appreciative as I'm hesitant to submit new material before the old ones clear. Sincerely, Per *NOTE* Recalculate another month in his waiting time to date. Sorry Per Lichtman. I was slippin' but I'm back on the ball now.
  18. Well since it's a piano piece (which used to be the favored here a while back), it's probably going to get an auto "no" from a couple of the judges and an auto "yes" from a couple others. Hmmm...damn, I'm torn. It is a nice piano piece but it's pretty much follows the original without much variation. AAAGGGGGHHHHHERRRGGGHH!!! well... screw it. gotta follow through (i'm kickin' myself SO hard for this) No. Daniel's past statements are correct. We can't allow pieces on soley because they're piano pieces. Pretzel said the new year must usher in a raised bar in OCR standards... but he also said to stick to your gut (more or less in them words). I want to share this with SOOOOOO many other people. F*** it. S*** happens. No. It's just the piano and reverb done verbatim.
  19. Antonio: I have a submission that's hit the magical two month mark, and I was hoping you could help me. The song is entitled "Last Gasp", and it's a piano remake of the Wily stages of Mega Man 6. Here's the link: Thanks, Nemo Patrick Dubuque gordon@u.washington.edu *NOTE* It's been about 3 months now...sorry Nemo . Anyways, the song in question is track 12 on the .nsf.
  20. He said he hopes I like it and I do...but not enough to say "yes". The problem with this is that even though this is meant to be a club mix, it's not "club" enough, ya know? I never thought I'd say this, but there just isn't enough techno in this song. The standard techno beat is there, but it's not loud enough. A few more stereotypical dance tune effects woulda been nice in thar. I DO like this and I AM going to keep it for myself, but I can't say yes to posting. Some more technical gimmicks will help partially make up for the fact that these melodies are followed damn near verbatim. Please continue working on this. I want to see it posted. i feel so dirty. if you'll excuse me, i need to put my face in a meat grinder again.
  21. Mr. Pizza I'll get straight to the point and I hope you won't mind. Yes its about a remix submission but I believe that I've waited enough time to contact one of the submission judges. I submitted a remix and recieved an automatic conformation from DJP on October 3rd. We're now headed towards January and yet still nothing. I believe (along with numerous others) that my remix will be liked by MANY OCers including yourself. I dont know how this would work but I guess I'm supposed to give you the URL of my song URL of Song: (second song on that page named Nintendo Forest Mix) My remix takes the forest/woods themes of popular Nintendo games and converts them into a 6 min dance mix that I'm almost positve you'll like. Please Mr. Pizza if you could do anything to maybe speed up the process and somehow tell DJP to take my remix into consideration I'd be very greatful Thanks for your time Mr. Pizza. Sj (Sound Junkie)
  22. Damn this song seems long. I mean, there's longer ones on the site but this 4:26 seems to drag on and take a long time for some reason... hmmmmm.... Well whatever the reason is, it ain't enough to deny the quality of this song. Yes.
