  1. Sorry to double post, but I found a pretty good spot for pretty much leveling yourself and skills at the same time. Plus the monster drops a ring that probably sells for a lot(as mentioned above actually, heh).

Right here in the Forgotten City.

There are Lesser Demons(199exp a pop). Let them multiply(6 maximum I think) and have at them with your skills to destroy them. Easiest way to let them multiply is to stand on the statue's head and wait. It's hard for them to hit you there.

I'm currently working on the Javelin and it's going up pretty quickly. It's near a save spot, so you can kill them, refill your hp/mp and go back down. Rinse, repeat.

  2. We have a PS3 thread, a PSP thread (again), a DS thread, and we're on the third Wii thread.

But no X-Box 360 thread? Our coverage of the current systems is incomplete!

When you download new stuff for your 360 games, you're not really downloading them; you're downloading a key. And it unlocks stuff you've already paid for. And it costs you more money to do so. Yes, the age of micro-transactions is here and people are happily paying out more for what they already own.

It sucks, but there's probably an end-user license agreement somewhere that mentions this, and no one ever bothered to check (who really reads those? I bet you could put just about anything in one, and no one would notice until weeks, or even months later).

On the other hand, with soaring development costs and lower profits, game developers may see this sort of action as the only way to recoup the millions they spent on the games. A company that maintains a healthy profit can survive for years during rough patches between releases.

I thought that was why they charge $60 for games.

Also, more than 2million Burger King games sold, haha.

  3. [obligatoryPSPpost]

They need to get a Castlevania on PSP.

I don't see what the problem with making psudo-3d sidescrollers is. It worked great for games like Maverick Hunter X and Megaman Powered Up.

The PSP needs more sidescrollers IMHO.

Yeah, the wide screen is perfect for it. I can't wait to get the Metal Slug Collection.

Speaking of sidescrollers for the PSP, did you get Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins? That game looks like it was full of nostalgic goodness.

  4. I beat him doing 110 dmg a hit with Jet Black Whip + that offense boost spell.

That's about the only spells that I use. The Str Increase that both characters use. Too bad Jonathan's raises it so little compared to Charlotte's.

  5. The only reason why I die on any of the bosses is because I never really liked using potions on a boss fight, heh.

    But that's what they're for!

It's more fun that way ;p

Yeah, and I just beat the Belmont whip doing 50hp per hit and using about 3 High Potions and several food items(I have a million of them). :P

I just beat him using the Nebula and Impervious Mail. <3 Nebula.

  6. Holy balls, PoR is annoyingly hard sometimes.
I wouldn't say annoyingly hard, myself, but definitely hard in some places! I love it though. That's actually one of the positive points that sticks out for me in this game. Most other DS games I own I thought were fairly easy and I knew that I'd beat them in no time. PoR is different. I feel like I have my work cut out for me and that the challenge is there and I welcome it.

I do however find all of the bosses to be ridiculously easy. Maybe I was just leveled up more than what was expected of me, I dunno. I breezed through all of them up until dracula.

well, the part I was talking about to be annoying was how much HP the Whip's memory has. I mean, I was doing over 100hp a hit to him for quite some time and he still didn't die, heh.

  7. It's probably less related to overall horsepower and more based on the DS' unique features (two screens, touch screen, mic). Although from what I hear, Portrait of Ruin doesn't use the touch screen anyway (not sure on the mic), so I don't know.

The only thing you use the stylus for is creating an icon at the beginning(if you don't want to use a default one). Other than that, I really like having the map right above me without having to press start.

  8. Well, as usual, Nintendo's stuff can take a beating.

I was playing Smash Bros., and the dog has the obsession of looking out every window constantly in the house. She walked by, hit the cord and make the Wii fall over off of my TV stand. The game didn't freeze or anything, and there's nothing wrong with it.

  9. "Reliable sources close to Nintendo have told CVG that Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii, and Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on DS will not see light of day until Christmas 2007."

I call bullshit until official word.

Yeah, don't you love how they never provide the sources.

    Also, again:

    Question about component cables..

Is there really a difference in brand? I was going to wait to get the Psyclone brand at work($59.99, but I can get for $21), but it seems like we never have any in transit.

I'm thinking about just ordering ones from Nintendo.
