  1. Tsukasa, your sig's too big. Alatafuka or whatever your name is, I think .bmp extensions got disabled along with .txt.
  2. Anything is great in piano, and JigginJonT executes this nicely. Kinda reminds me of Build Mode in The Sims, as progressive19 said. Definately does the track justice.
  3. Heh, I like the percussion in this mix combined with the saxaphones. Pretty good mix, possibly one of the defining mixes of OCR.
  4. Whoa, I really like this. The "delayed acoustic bass" sounded almost like bongas or whatever you call them. The sax has the perfect tone to it, and you bring in the piano at a great time. Didn't even notice that it was a piano. At around 00:53 it sounds like you change the kinds of pianos you use... And then you go back down with the bass at 01:15, with some occasional sax. When the piano comes back again, things start coming back... And I know why they're calling it "industrial jazz" now, because of that industrial clap-like sound in the background that always seems to accompany the piano. At around 01:57, you can tell things are really get back up, and soon enough all the intruments are playing in unison, with the exception of the trumpet, which takes the place of the sax nicely, with the sax still playing a few notes occasionally. I like the fadeout you used at 3:30. This is another Mazedude classic, and I think it's his best work ever. Even if you don't normally like jazz, this mix has a great pace and a variety of instruments. Excellent work, Maze.
  5. You didn't read the whole thread, did you? DJP sez he'll make an OCR01000 to OCR01250 once he gets to it. I'll have to re-label the folder OCR01000 to OCR01500 and consequently change the playlists once it comes out though... Which won't be much of a problem, really...
  6. I can't really find anything that would define this as a "eurodance", but for some odd reason it still fits the title perfectly... As for the mix itself, it's really nice. Not too repititious, and other than a nicely placed break around 1:25, it doesn't go up or down hardly any. Good stuff. 90%.
  7. 19 seeders 41 leechers 15 seeders 54 leechers <.< >.> Uh... a little help here?
  8. Excellent mix here. Dr. Fruitcake sticks to a strong tropical theme here, while keeping the origninal tracks completely intact. Anyone who's ever played a mario game will be easily be able to identify at least some of the themes. The sound quality is high also [from what I could tell, anyway, I'm deaf in the left ear]. The song hardly ever drops off from its energetic pace. 95% EDIT: Woohoo, first mix review!
  9. I highly doubt it, as BT only writes to the exact directory you choose. Thus, you'd probably end up writing the files over again in the top directory.
  10. 00:00 - Not a bad intro. Somewhat misleading though. 00:11 - THIS is what I mean by misleading. The vocals are just...perfect... 00:32 - Kinda cheesy, but a'ight. You mix the original melody back in occasioanlly for effect. 01:28 - My favorite part of the song. This made me do a review. There is no word in the English language that can accurately describe this. 02:03 - Here come those vocals again. They add an emotional, even melodic, feel to this mix. 03:08 - In my opinion, I think those string-style synths are ruining the overall effect of the vocals. They'd best be taken out or replaced with something less frontal and less up-and down. Same thing with the strings in the beginning. After 03:08 it just kinda fades out. Unnecessary, but you did a good job on hiding the needlessness of it. Overall - 96.5%
  11. Ok, just started the song [which is nicely done] over: 00:00 - Nice flute intro. 00:06 - Here come the synths. 00:12 - Here's where the trance comes in. 00:19 - You mixed the electronic trance beat perfectly with the flute. Starts going up from there. 00:34 - The flute still blends semalessly. I have to congratulate you on this. 00:59 - I like how you blended some electronic noises in the background there with the flute doing its own thing with the lower-paced melody. 01:04 - Here come the synths again. 01:12 - Perfectly placed break from the happy-go lucky melody...but it'll come back to haunt me... 01:24 - It's coming back from the break very fast, which is a good thing. 01:38 - You took out the flute there for a little bit and put a synth in its place flawlessly. 01:44 - Here comes the flute again. 01:56 - I like the underwater effect you put here. 02:09 - You aded more ambient electronic sounds with a few appearences from the flute. 02:22 - The flute's back as part of the main melody here. 02:48 - An electronic break from the happiness that's been building up. After that, most of the instruments from the song as a whole come back and build up to 03:26. After that, it's like some underwater percussion instrument leading the closing melody. Overall, this is probably my favorite mix on OCR, even though I never played any games on any Sega system. Very, very happy. The flute is my favorite instrument in this mix. Again, nicely done. 99%.
  12. *looks at The Coop's posts* ... Heh, this really IS the oldest thread on OCR... EDIT: As for an actual contribution... Giygas. ... What? I was 7 back then!
  13. Only 14, yet I remember this... I don't mind it stretching on. It's pretty good for the most part. And I had no idea Ormgas would introduce me to two mixes by the same artist that I would want...
  14. I never owned Tales of Phantasia. I came across this mix on ormgas. I heard it, and a minute through, I KNEW I had to have it. A great addition to my newly formatted hard drive... .... *sob*
  15. An excellent, calm, ambient mix....I downloaded this in the WiP forum a long time ago...like with It's About Time.... I don't have time for detailed comments right now [my mom's yelling at me to get to bed], so I'll just give you a 90% rating on this mix. I might go back tomorrow and post a more thorough comment.
  16. Actually, I think the intro is just fine. The overall track is great, but unfortunately it's so great that I can't pay attention to it...it sort of purges you of any care in the world. I've had this track for several months, and still like it. 92.5%.
  17. I downloaded this some time ago in the WiP forum, and now it's a mix... I'll download this version tomorrow, and post my comment of it then. btw, the version I have is GREAT...it's one of my favorite tracks. Can't wait to try this.
  18. This is T3H PWNZ. 0:00 - Nice. 0:12 - Gettin' started... 0:22 - Excellent tuning there. 0:39 - Sounds like a synth duet. Cool. 1:20 - Perfect! I love this part! 1:48 - A pause??? In a DANCE mix??? What am I supposed to do, just STAND there???? [heh, just kidding! this is nicely placed.] 1:49+ - Climactic, sounds like multiple synths, and not just two. Excellent mix, finely tuned, perfectly placed transitions. 95%.
  19. I'm pretty sure it's Koholint. I have a GBA and the Link's Awakening DX pak right next too me, but I'm too lazy [besides, I have a laptop in my lap and am typing into my home comp right now, how am I supposed to handle a GBA at the same time? ] Anyway, this is some great techno/rave music. I often listen to this and Kakariko Rave Party one after the other, although the kakariko mix is better, in my opinion. 88.75%
  20. Link has pointy ears. Zelda has pointy ears. Thus, they are both Hylian. End of story. Anyway, DJP has a great mix here, dunno why some of you guys don't like the funk drums, but it could just be the headphones. 87.5%
  21. Here's how you solve the bass problem. Get some headphones. Don't turn them up all the way like some of you idiots do. And there you go, the bassline is fixed.
  22. I've been taking advantage of my school's wireless broadband network, and even on a laptop with headphones, this mix is an extremely high-quality, happy, fun, upbeat spin on the Kakariko theme. Is actual rave music this good? 93.75%
  23. This mix is much better than Disco Dan's Blue Lightning mix, partly because it's faster paced, partly because it isn't 8 minutes long, and partly because it's...just....better. EDIT: I take that back. Stupid laptop speakers getting in the way of Dan's greatness... You're still cool though. Truly a work of art, this was one of the first mixes I've ever had but never got around to rating it. 92.5%
  24. Much like the MMX4 Stage Select mix, this song has great overall sound quality, but lacks variety. Some new chords somewhere between the original chords would have done this mix some good. The track is way too repetitive. I still like it, though.
