  1. Thanks for another great project, everyone. Can't wait to listen to it. Also, Shariq, on the media page mirrors 1 and 2 are both for Herograw... You may wanna fix that.
  2. So it's done? About shoeing time.... Anyway, some funky shit from Adhesive Boy. Yummy stuff - Great quality and never gets boring. So Kirby turns into a UFO eh? Nice.
  3. I heart this. Gorgeous track - The synths have a kind of mellow sound that you don't hear very often.
  4. I never noticed Quinn's style much in the past, and even the ones I really enjoyed by him I had never really attributed to him. But I think this is some very good stuff, and now that I'm looking more into Quinn's stuff I'm finding more mixes that catch me just as well. I like this interpretation of Flashman. The futuristic synths sound damn nice.
  5. I just about pissed my pants when I saw a brand-new Turrican 2 mix on the main page. I've never played the game, but after Mark7's mix introduced me to the awesomeness of the soundtrack and helped me recognize the name Huelsbeck through my journeys over the Internet, I came to appreciate Chris Huelsbeck as a god. I loved the combination trance/80's vibe that certain sections have going for them. That melody was what made me love The Desert Remake, and it'll definately make me listen to this song with religious frequency. Nutbustin' work Awesome-A.
  6. That made me chuckle. Ah, must be getting late. OCR has had some good stuff on the front page this past week. Plenty of variety, which refects on the site and its members pretty accurately. Anyway! As for the mix, I loved it. It feels vaguely similar to something that Jeremy Soule would write/produce at times. I loved the changes of pace and instrumentation throughout the remix. Damn, this kicks so much ass. If there's anything wrong with this mix, I flew right the fuck over it, because the sheer quality of everything is enough to drown out any flaws that I'd ever notice, even if I looked really really reaalaallyylylyy hard. Keep up the good work, I look forward to hearing more from you.
  7. Oustanding, Sir Nuts. Typical of your style of electronica, and I liked the subtle Asian elements thrown in. Seems slightly more melodic than some of your previous submissions, which I like a lot. This mix held my interest from beginning to end. Again, great job. Edit: Hm, just noticed that this mixes the same tune as "Sprinting Riffs"... Which I also liked a lot. Anyone listening to this who likes it should download that too. Also, hurry up and submit "Introduction to Heaven". Just 'cause it's old doesn't mean crap, it's still one of your best works ever.
  8. Simply superb. I love the flute and piano. Nice string work too. This also seems to be one of Darkesword's more relaxed pieces.
  9. You should've been around for PRC 2-7. They had to remix this very theme, and they had some excellent entries, but this one would've won for sure had you entered it. It's about time we got a Golden Sun mix in here too.
  10. Definately sounds like it could be the theme song of a C&C commando. I like the military vibe this mix has. It doesn't exactly make a huge effort, but still decent.
  11. Basically a combination of disco/electro/funk. While some people will love this, others won't care for it. As for myself, when this was posted a looong way back, I didn't like it initially. But when I listened to it more, it grew on me a lot, and I'm just now writing a review of it. I see the judges were also split on it. Good stuff though.
  12. Aye, this feels so old school. Great melody. Almost like the bastard child of some random trance and a C64.
  13. You don't seem to have any appreciation for the musical style. It's not supposed to progess at all, and if by "flow" you mean "composition", then yes, this song has plenty of flow. I like the song, personally. The quiet atmosphere and low-quality samples make it sound a lot like a track from an old RPG, perhaps during dialogue or a cutscene.
  14. I've had this for quite a while now, never would have guessed it'd end up on OCR. The vocals are very well done; I didn't even know it was a love song until the English translation was posted.
  15. Whoa, the melody feels a lot more slowed down than it really is... Anyway, nice instrumental themes. A bit repetitive [but perhaps deliberately so]. Sequencing is what they call it, I think...?
  16. ^ What he said. Awesome guitars, awesome mix. The drums are a bit too much in the foreground, but that could just be my headphones.
  17. Personal 100th mix review. zircon did a great job composing and rearranging this. The sinister/epic orchestration holds perfect connotations to the "Nightmare Before Christmas" theme. Lively, but crowded [at least to my ears].
  18. Certainly among the best of DJP's early works. The blending of instrumental and electronic is pretty good, and being the sucker for the traiditional Russian sound that I am, I can't help but like this.
  19. While it's a decent tribute to the original, I would've liked to hear more "mixing it up", and also higher quality instruments. Sounds better than the original, anyway.
  20. I enjoyed this one a lot. Kind of reminds me of one o' them injun tribes. Some neat percussion and horns througout the piece.
  21. Very good, wonderful really, but not for close listening - Too repititious if you don't allow it to work its intended effect as background music, at least up until the guitars. Then things get heavy, but in a good way. The guitars are very high-quality with the perfect amount of reverb. Good job.
