play. I think I know what my problem is......
-
tra-la-la-la-laaa 256kbps. 2:49 length. Not really christmasy, but somewhat nice.
-
the 2 big sounds clips (the one in the intro, and the one in the middle/end) were ripped from one of my VHS tapes. Along with that rip came a lot of fuzzzzzzz since the tape is like, 10+ years old. Steampipe would fit in with this, to add some fill in with everything. I shall look into it.

but, but, it isn't sytrus =( I do believe I gave it more of a high end boost with the e-piano. I could always bring that down so it's more mellow and mid-range. I'm also trying so very very hard to avoid using reaktor, or kontakt, as they will kill my CPU, and right now it's running pretty high.
-
Intro? Are you talking about the clip or the e-piano/rhode thing I'm using? The sample clip in the beginning is only there because something has to go there...it can't start with just the piano. Plus I wanted to show F4T4L if he heard that before. Chances are, if I find something better to put there, then I'll put it there. As for the melody, I have done a little something something. It's just a matter of find a fitting synth, and bring it in properly....which is becoming a bit of an issume. Holy shit! The voice samples that you've added to this are so awesome. It seems like you've added some more scratching too. My only complaint is that I don't really like how it ends, but I'm still very happy listening to this, and I've had it looped for like 10 minutes, as a matter of fact I'm listening to it right now. Good stuff. I've indeed added several voice samples to this, with more to come (as soon as I find, rip, scratch, record, slice, and insert the clips). Bonus points to those who can get the origin of these clips. Ending will change, of course. This song can/will go on for at least another minute. and I'm glad people like the drummage, and don't think I'm going just a tad overboard. and for those who think I am, stfu!!!1

Electrosonic Therapy - a 4 track EP
Skrypnyk replied to Splunkle's topic in Post Your Original Music!
I agree with that's said he. Good ideas that could have been executed better without the Fruityness. and that album cover is pretty kick ass. -
Pretty much what avaris said. I tend to keep my songs simple, perhaps a bit on the minimal side of things. Then just go nuts with the drums. Because I like nuts on my drums. Anyhoo, there is an update. Did what I said I would do earlier, and extended the song. I doubt very much that there will be a climax, and I think I for see a fade out in the end D=!! . I'm not 100% sure where I'm going with this now. I want to add more scratching in this, and vocal samples, but right now I'm feeling really lazy (boooo). Or maybe it's because the project file is really disorganized....*shrugs* Thanks for all the comments thus far

Check. It's actually the release mixed with the delay that causes it to sounds like reverb. Turn it down a bit so it should sound cleaner. Check. Brought up the volume on it, should be more audible. I agree on some parts I go a little overboard with the scratching. I will probably re-do those section later on. And you are right, it is mallow's sad song. Or suppose to be. I'll try and add more from the original to this. Next update should be some time tomorrow, and thanks for all the comments :>

sadly that's the only real choice I have until I get a DVI monitor. Which isn't going to happen till this one dies. Which shouldn't happen for another 5+ years.

Pretty much what Chavous said. It also has no genre, no direction, no climax, no originality, no style. It is indeed a really really n00b attempt at a mix, but no one is perfect at the beginning. Simply practice more, try new things, learn new things, do new things. Learn more about the sequencer and mastering and production. And listen to how other songs on this site are re-arranged. Yours really sounds like a midi-rip. (or close to)

The "who uses what" thread
Skrypnyk replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in Music Composition & Production
I have komplete 3. Pro-53 and Reaktor are my favourite synths to use. Reaktor itself is oh so sweet because you can literally do anything and everything with it. the only things really I haven't really touched much in komplete 3 is the vocoder and the spectral delay, although I should give the delay another chance. But yea, I totally recommend it, especially if you can pick it up for that cheap 400 price now or whatever. -
*giggle* This has to be one of the coolest things I've done. It's like Boards of Canada meets DJ Shadow meets ....me =) . This originally started as a joke/test track. I wanted to do something like Kid Koala, but then I something happened and I changed my mind. I'm curious though if you can detect which song I remixed, because it sorta sounds pretty distant from the original. oh, and bonus points to the person who figures out what audio clip is scratch at 0:36ish . the game I plan on playing is Flatout 2. I know that my current card is 'suppose to' be acceptable, but even on the lowest, shit setting I can get it, the game will start to look like it'll crash, then it'll crash. So I'm hoping this'll fix the problem, and keep me up-to-date with most of the new games to come out (portals ^__^). And hopefully, these cards come in this week.

that is so very awesome then =D

xfx version is an extra 40 bucks D=! plus with the evga I can get a 20 dollar rebate, which I'm sooo taking. Now, in my haste to get a new video card a.s.a.p, I over looked one minor minor detail. These cards are duel DVI, and my monitor is VGA D=!!! . Now I know vga to dvi converters exist, if anyone knows off hand, does best buy or future shop sells them?

Yayz BoC ^__^. I'm sure it would have been better if I used a snare at that part instead of a clap, but I don't think it would really fit in with the rest of the song. So I have to stick with the clap. Hopefully it doesn't sound too too bad. I'm still tweaking up that part though. They're certain parts that don't really work for me. I totally agree with you. Totally totally totally. I currently got rid of that break and just continued the beat. It sounds alright, but a little change up there would be better. Thanks a lot for the listen and comments. Really appreciated =) .

1.9gb of free HQ samples from East West
Skrypnyk replied to zircon's topic in Music Composition & Production
when trying to load the samples in kontakt or kompakt, it keeps telling me they aren't registered and I should register them. Anyone getting the same thing/know any way around it? -
that was my motherboard. untill I upgraded to the SLi deluxe version ^__^ EDIT: my bad. I wrote a8n-e. I do have the SLi mobo though.

Awesome. If you were to say otherwise, I'd have to strangle you cause I just bought the video card 2 hours ago. And now I wait

1.9gb of free HQ samples from East West
Skrypnyk replied to zircon's topic in Music Composition & Production
I'm hovering just under 7 kbps. Although I was downloading a bunch of other stuff. Getting it soon? Aren't you still on a 56k? -
Yeah, my ambient pieces don't really have a climax. Just a beginning, middle and end. Thanks for listening
-
ooh, that's a sweet card. And only 10 bucks more (off tigerdirect). Small question: Will it run on a ASUS A8N-SLi deluxe motherboard? (I'm unfamiliar with GDDR3).
