  1. Yeah, I agree 100%. This just builds up the anticipation.
  2. SGX actually programs drums in Redrum, too. *drool*
  3. ocremixfan, the "dirty" feeling at the beginning is actually a vinyl VST. I wanted to give it an old time feel, but I need to adjust the parameters a little more and apply a low-pass filter so the upper frequencies aren't so piercing. Splunke, I actually started this ReMix to send to the Xenogears project coordinators, but then I decided I didn't want to wait until the project is released because I would like to submit this to OCR right when I finish it up. Yeah, after a few people told me, I agree the transition into the main beat is sudden. I guess before I didn't think it was since I knew it was coming. I'll change it up. I just have to experiment with how I'm going to. The song is actually around five minutes long, but I wanted to be a butt and just share the intro.
  4. Splunke, did you try to program drums in Redrum's sequencer or the main sequencing window? When I first started using Reason I arranged my drums in the main sequencing window, which I hated. I switched to using Redrum's and suddenly made drum parts quicker that were much better. It's all just a matter of preference, anyway. I myself never enjoyed FL Studio for drum programming and actually don't find the entire program to be very motivating. That's just me, though.
  5. I love Loopmasters. I have their Lounge and Chillout CD, which is wonderful. I should bust it out again sometime soon.
  6. My latest project: You Are Here. This is the intro to my ReMix of the Xenogears tune, "Lost...Broken Shards". It's actually close to being done, but this is all I wanted to share. Be teased!
  7. Shame on those people who blew you off. That's just a load of crap. I say take all the time you need. I, for one, don't want you two to feel obligated when doing the show.
  8. Very nice, zirc. This makes me all excited not just for your new album, but our collab, too. Omg, leak!
  9. More compression! Get those drums bangin', especially the kick since this is breakbeat. I suggest getting more drum parts goin', too. Maybe apply a loop for some spice. I think you could totally bust out into something hot with some gritty synths. Can't wait to hear an update!
  10. Wow, what a mechanical sounding piano. You need to breathe some life into it! Besides some much needed note velocity changes, apply some light reverb and delay (I'm partial to ping-pong). Perhaps layer another pad, too. The percussion could use some light delay to make it more interesting. Change up those patterns, too. They're kind of "blah" right now. The triangle (?) wave sound doesn't really fit, in my opinion, and sounds cheap. I think a light choir would fit nicely in this, too. Also, I think you need to push this forward in terms of progression. Keep at it!
  11. Yay, 80s goodness! 'Tis fun! First off, I feel there is too much reverb on the snare and toms. (I know it's normal to 80s music, but I feel it's too much.) Also, you don't seem to be utilizing the high frequencies enough. I think with some more EQing and drum compression you could make this really shine. Every part needs to have its own place and right now it sounds a little cluttered. Good luck!
  12. I say Reason is awesome for drum programming and the interface is great if you're into the hardware look.
  13. Check the beat, yo. It's a kick, snare, clap and hat and it's pimpin'.
  14. Listen to this man!
  15. "WinglessMix": Ah, my everlasting mark in the world of VGDJ.
  16. Holy crap, I'm back! Though, only like three people probably remember me. Great videocast, guys!
  17. I know this is so incredibly late, but it's great to see you guys on the panel. I enjoy reading your comments.
  18. This should be interesting.
  19. Swing your arms, from side to side, Come on it's time to go do the Mario, Take one step, and a then let's do the Mario altogether now! (It's all from memory but yes... would be great!) Hell yeah, now you're talkin'.
  20. Yeah, I was thinking about switching to ACID as a host, anyway. Thanks.
  21. Whenever I try to change the tempo mid-song the current playing position jumps a bunch of measures.
  22. q-pa, you're crazy.
  23. Correction then: ReWiring doesn't work when using FL Studio as a host.
  24. Must...catch...up!
