  1. Don't kid yourself. We'll all have died in a horrible accident as we delve too far into the depths of a subsubsubnuclear hell within the first 1000 years, wireless power or no.
  2. would have been better if you did only that first line and left it at that also sinewav take your woes to livejournal I could have quoted whoever I wanted and no one would give me crap because I am cool
  3. And I work 8 hours a day then spend the rest of my days watching old TV shows and movies. We're all so busy.
  4. Brilliant. Although I still don't have access to that level, guys.
  5. I don't see the new level? Do you have to have completed them all to get it? (I still haven't found something that actually works for the Hump...)
  6. Um, guys, the interwebs got over hating The Legend of Celda for its looks by the time the game went gold. The majority of people who still hate it do so mainly for other reasons (e.g., long, boring, retardedly repetitive sailing). That said, I thought it was pretty good.
  7. I forgot to say: Thanks for the badges, Doulifee! Especially the nice surprise for GA Jedi Knight (our close "Honorable Mention"). Okay, so now that I have a day off, here goes: SoulinEther: Your piece began intriguingly, but I found it mostly confusing. At first it seemed like the narrator was the one who had been "betrayed" by the banister, but then it turns out not to be so? And I really couldn't get behind his motivations in being so fascinated by this scene; they were a little obtuse. The end: is he really experiencing this as some kind of torment in hell, or what? It seemed like you were trying to build the scenario with an element of suspense, but ultimately it felt ambiguous and, well, confusing. As you said, this may have been helped if you had written more with it, but the exposition would need some refinement, too. thesim: The main reason I couldn't get into this piece was because I couldn't care about the character, or what happened to him, at all. He came across as a bit of a cynic with few endearing qualities, so when the entire piece centered on throwing him into "peril," I lost interest. I liked the twist, though, of this guy (who ridicules some "idiot" who got lost two miles from the road) being so close to salvation all along (even if that premise is slightly implausible, to me), so maybe if you developed that irony a little more... I don't know. It was a fairly well written piece, it just didn't do anything for me. just64helpin: I wanted more. There is not much more I can say than that. You basically just gave me a striptease and told me I would have to pay for the full show. (And that is basically what I wanted: for you to show me this vastly intriguing premise, instead of telling me about it.) GA Jedi Knight: I really liked the piece, how it was introduced and how it developed and how it concluded. I just had to ask myself why twenty-nine would be such an important number to anyone, and how convenient (like, deus ex machina convenient) it was that he figured this out on exactly the right day. Maybe if I could have suspended my disbelief just a little more, this would have been my absolute favorite. That's all I've got for now. I also have comments for Random Hajile and Washington Maverick, but I can't really talk about either piece without going more into detail so I'll get them up a little later.
  8. This is the simplest, possibly fastest one I've seen: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=701640
  9. Edge's Defense is decent enough, it's his Magic Defense that's terrible. The "best armor that money can buy" doesn't give him much Magic Defense, either, so you should probably find a lighter armor that's better for that if you want him to survive heavier spells.
  10. I let this thing sit for a good half-hour and it still hadn't finished.
  11. Blink is the key to Behemoths. Rydia can Summon without worrying about the counterattack, but Rosa and Fusoya should worry about keeping Cecil and Edge constantly Blinked so his physical counterattack doesn't kill them.
  12. 'm sorry I still have some standards
  13. does this mean we are friends does this mean we are lovers
  14. I love the ones that explode. Flash's inability to handle lots of complex equations FTW!
  15. Some people are more creative than I am. A lot more. YESSSSSSSsssssss now that I've stolen it from you I have more time for myself
  16. Critiquing is an entriely optional service you may do to your fellow writers. The only real guideline we have about it is you shouldn't discuss the entries before the voting period ends. So, feel free to critique as much or as little as you want. I'll be critiquing most, if not all of the entries once I've satiated my thirst for old episodes of The Office.
  17. hahaha look he's swearing because he's not intelligent enough to do something again how cute
  18. Oh come now, give Doulifee a break, he's a busy, busy Frenchman.
  19. There are two general ways: either come up with something to get there before the ball drops, or build something that can "dig" under the ball, pushing it up and out of the way. A powerful catapult is probably the easiest way to do the first version (just play with the angle to avoid the obstacles above and still get into the goal zone quick enough), and something that has a "drill" wedge in front (possibly with counter-clockwise wheels to help lift the ball all the way up, if you don't stick the red block in the front) will do the trick for the second way.
  20. THE RESULTS ARE IN! Runner-Up: Imagery 1st Place: Washington Maverick Excellent work from Washington Maverick! I have some thoughts on all of the entries but I'm about off to work, so for now, here's the vote spread: Contricity - 2 GA Jedi Knight - 6 Imagery - 8 just64helpin - 1 Mechasonic4ever - 1 Random Hajile - 3 SoulinEther - 4 thesim - 4 Washington Maverick - 13 I really wish we could have had more votes with how many entries we had. When you've only got seven people voting on eleven entries things get a little tough. However, congratulations to all our hard-working newcomers for jumping right into the fray and going toe-to-toe with all of us old geezers. That takes some guts, that does. Doulifee will have badges ready soon.
  21. now that's not entirely true, BAD lyrics can ruin a song too, but if it's something like Daft Punk or Justice then I'm not going to be overly concerned if the lyrics are just mediocre throw-aways
  22. this one has wheels wheels and rods
