I would probably wind up buying it anyway provided it came out and had downloadable content for Wii, but man if that setlist isn't disappointing as a many-times vocalist. A lot of my favorite bands up there, but some of their worst songs for singing. I'd probably have more fun playing bass of all things.

I would never expect anyone to write like Joyce, but knowing him is enough to get me interested in what you have to write. -

Hello! We're glad to have you. I've always enjoyed Irish literature and James Joyce is one of my favorite authors not of the last 50 or so years, so I can't wait to see what you come up with. -

I have been reading some Bukowski and doing a lot of observing and thinking during my week of vacation, so hopefully I will be able to produce something that's interesting to read and to write. -
I'm going back into hiding in the writing competition thread.
-
it was always stupid
-
"Most gamers" would whine more if CT3 sucks than if it never gets made. Just look at the people who are still butthurt about Cross.
-
everyone knows offtop is a worthless circlejerking waste of time plus imagery notices idiocy in threads he actually does reads and bleck has been producing an awful lot of it in said threads god damn is that an annoying way to speak
-
"Most gamers" being you and everyone you know who has actually heard of Chrono Trigger? I hope you can see the parallel here... Anyway, you ignored a strong point of my argument; would you really want them to force a third Chrono game into existence? I would rather they not make another one than add a terrible installment to the series, and I'm sure you would agree. Besides, what makes you think they haven't been working on it? It could easily take some time to produce something of sufficient quality, and as others have mentioned, who's to say this port isn't a way to bring CT back to the masses in preparation for it? If you make less assumptions, you might see more options here. P.S.: a colon might be appropriate to introduce the quote in your case, but "That being said" hardly suits the purpose, proper punctuation or not!
-
Posing as an annoying video game character does not make an inside joke?
-
Speaking in third person is not endearing.

I didn't have to lace anything with insults. I just felt compelled to inform you that you are the village idiot because I doubt you would notice otherwise. "That being said;" (which doesn't even make sense syntactically omg wtf why would you end a paragraph with a semicolon) As someone else mentioned earlier in the thread, how much time do you honestly think this product takes up? The game is already made, and from a programming standpoint it takes almost zip effort to incorporate the cookie cutter features that have already been perfected in countless other ports of similar caliber. At most they tie up a localization team for a new translation. And do you honestly think they make obscene amounts of money on a game that, as you claim, "most gamers" are hardly interested in purchasing? Even if they do, it clearly proves that the game does have a niche to fill (which The Damned has already explained to you so damn thoroughly), so you can't fault the company. Look, don't get me wrong. I want another Chrono game as much as anyone. Hell, I called myself chronotriggerfreak for several years. But I'm not going to suggest that the company I want to make the game should do so either exclusively or before they are ready. The first would result in bankruptcy, and the second would result in a terrible game I wouldn't want to play anyway. So let the company make money how it wants, and let the people who want to enjoy this game enjoy it.
-
Bleck, stop being retarded. SE releasing this port does not hurt you, unless you are somehow allergic to companies continuing to make money off their successful products? Look, a good deal of people who are going to buy this game wouldn't download a ROM of it because they are not into or aware of emulation, or do not care for playing console/portable games with a keyboard, or have an issue with breaking the law (whether you agree with that law or not). Squenix is well within their rights to make it available to those people through legimiate, profitable channels. So, coming from someone who is equally as unimpressed with this move as you, stop your whining. You're doing it wrong, anyway.

Count Bleck is an annoying 'tard.

In case you guys didn't catch on, the freeform competition has begun. Let's get started! -
i just have this problem where i go to the store and there are so many choices and i'm like uhhhh and then i notice the clerk acting all haughty and i'm like eff this and i walk out and then the clerk makes a snooty comment about window shoppers and i never want to go back except the natural puppy store, the clerk there is nice and kinda cute and the name puts me in a happy mood where i like to spend money on things i don't need
-
So I'm almost at the end of Week 1 and I haven't been feeding my characters or buying them clothes. Am I doing it wrong?

It's the fact that you have to use "technically" with regard to FF Advance's "improvements" that means they're obviously not remade. I don't know about FF1 and 2 on the PSP because I don't have a PSP. If they're as different as the FFT remake in terms of the translation and cutscenes, I'd say they're worthy remakes as long as they don't suffer from the same animation slowdown. The deal is, all claims of "graphics whoring" aside, the jump from 2D to 3D is a very substantial thing. It can completely change the presentation of each and every scene in the game. Just take a look at some of the classic scenes that have been entirely revamped in FFIV for a wholly different feel. It doesn't change the story much (although there are quite a few new scenes that add some minorly important details from what I hear), but the overall product, the game itself, feels like a new entity. And this isn't even taking into account what they've done for the actual gameplay. The main reason I wouldn't call this CTDS thing (and for that matter, the FF Advance games) remakes is that nothing they add change the game itself. So they gave us new profile sprites. Big whoop (P.S.: Rosa is fugly). They add one new dungeon, which is tacked on to the very end of the game with little purpose. That, my friends, smacks of expansion pack, not remake. And tell me, would you feel happy if Blizzard released an expansion pack to one of their games with new content that amounted to about 5% of the original game in length/size, then charged full price for it? All I'm saying is, there is no way these games are intended for the same audience as FFIII and FFIV DS.
-
you mean the one that every castlevania fan ever is wtfing over
-
you do realize if you stop atma from declaring everything ever to be mediocre you will upset the balance of the universe and cause it to implode immediately
-
I am perfectly happy that SE still endeavors to bring its classic games into the new generation, but there is still something that pisses me off about giving a game a third release without really updating it (if you think that vague and uninteresting list of "new features" is an update, you're out of your mind). You have to understand that for those of us that have held onto this game and played it to death over the years, we can't help but feel swindled when we take a look at what is being done with FFIII and FFIV DS, then hear that CT is once again seeing the light of day without that same treatment. I just hoped they had learned their lesson with the FF Advance games and decided to cut that shit out and stop stomping on the hearts of die-hard fans, but apparently not.

Wow... July's freeform competition is already sneaking up on us, everyone. The competition begins this weekend, and as I'm going to be out of town and probably not hawking the internet, I'm going to wish everyone good luck now. One thing: I'm probably going to shave a couple days off the submission and voting phases this time, for reasons I'll explain later. I'll be adding the dates in the first post as usual. -
You and the tons of younger people who never had the chance to own and/or play the game are their target audience, basically. And the DS uses carts just like the SNES, so you're probably safe on the load times (the FF Advance games had no trouble, anyway).
-
Not that I side with the crazy people, but this argument is pretty crappy. FF7 was an entirely new game in a new world, wholly separate from its predecessors, while Diablo is a linear sequel to games with a preestablished world and atmosphere belonging to that world. If Blizzard wanted to "take a few risks" in the sense that you are suggesting with your comparison to FF7, they wouldn't be making another Diablo.
-
Which means this is exactly the same as the FF Advance ports, but with constant map and/or menu display on the bottom and stylus control for menus. Big whoop. And I guarantee that wireless play is at most a battle mode; more likely some kind of crappy trade and/or messaging system akin to Moogle mail.
