  1. did he do the hosting first time around? i thought iggy or some other dude...had like 50 posts...did that stuff.
  2. i really hope they roll with an ffxii-style battle system, which was so clearly influenced by other mmos. the 'whos working on the games' is interesting. you've got a producer who worked on the original games (not a fan, personally) and 9, which i really disliked, the director from ix, the art head from the least attractive/innovative of modern ff games, and then music jesus man himself. it could turn out awesome, or cookie-cutter. we'll see.
  3. he was a weird guy. you never know. was there semen found at the scene?
  4. this happens because of the cord being in the right ear and then being continued to the left. you yank on the cord, your right ear is the one that takes the brunt of the blow, not the left.
  5. in other news, i uploaded xenon odyssey's and two of my tracks (waiting on fishy's computer for the other one) to the ftp, as well as sloopygoop's third wip. coming along well. if you haven't sent me lossless, send me lossless!
  6. anyone notice the name of the movie he was shooting talk about a horrible coincidence.
  7. i really think that neil voss needs to do the sound for this.
  8. if you read anything in this thread, you'd know that some of those versions were for other countries, or for pre-built pcs from specific manufacturers, or designed for HTPCs, or specifically set up for business use. which leaves two versions - pro and ultimate. edit: just figured i'd spell it out. i know he was making a (bad) funny.
  9. i haven't heard from miku or monobrow in months. can't keep clogging those tracks if they're not going to do anything with it. i'm going to try and find someone to re-record miku's track (it's actually not that bad, but i'd prefer a high-fidelity recording), if he's ok with it. can't seem to get ahold of him, but since he ok'd us using it a while back i think it won't be a big deal. i'm going over some of the tracks to see if there's some deadwood we can trim off. so many of these tracks are similar... edit: does anyone have mp3 tracks of each track? i know we had them at some point. dunno if that was something aeth had or what.
  10. a recent system that can't handle a new game wasn't a good system. that simple. i've had my current system - which is a baseline that i build others off of - for over a year and it's still kicking ass and taking names in all the newest games. so that argument doesn't apply as much. plus no one i sell to is stupid enough to actually buy the 700$ graphics card when it'll be 350$ next month anyways. i guess that i should point to halo 2 in this regard. everyone was pissed when h3 was announced solely for the 360 and not for the original xbox as well. people wanted more maps for h2, wanted more content, blah blah blah. except that h2 still has a great community of players online who play often. just like l4d will.
  11. i'm missing something here. isn't l4d constantly on sale on steam for half price - like, once every other month? and people actually purchased valve games for full price? what the hell is wrong with these people? they put bioshock on sale for 5$ a few months back. FIVE DOLLARS. for BIOSHOCK, probably the most innovative (on the story and art side) game this generation...and it was only a year after launch, around the time that ps3 got it. and you paid 50$ for a game - after launch, mind you - by this same company? no wonder you're pissed. you're incredibly stupid. edit: oh, i get it. you people were stupid enough to buy the console version of any game by any company over the pc version. pc versions - particularly for multiplayer-only stuff like tf2 and l4d - rock console versions up the anus in terms of content and not having to pay for stuff. not to mention the mod community.
  12. this looks pretty cool. if i get a job at gamecrazy, i might have to actually get a ps3 now.
  13. are all of those for sale games for dc?
  14. it was probably rebuilt to look the same, since it's kind of iconic in the SW universe.
  15. lifehacker ran an interesting article yesterday comparing w7 to osx leopard - not in terms of productivity or speed, but feature to feature. it's an interesting read, at least.
  16. the audio stack's been cleaned up, yeah. there's not all the issues that are present in vista. there won't be as many driver issues since people will actually have time to program for them, either, which will help.
  17. starter's for cheap computers (read: netbooks) only. until recently, they weren't going to let you run more than three apps at the same time on it.
  18. this is a pretty good point. you look at that list and it scares you, but there's really only two major editions, pro and ultimate. enterprise is the volume-licensed version of ultimate and won't be used by consumers, home premium is the HTPC version of pro. the rest, we won't see on a computer (unless you're a business person or you actually buy PCs from dell or hp). not that complex, when you break it down. there's still a silly number of licensed names for all that, though. edit: it's also worth noting that the difference in price between the bottom (available in the us, home premium) and top (ultimate) is only going to be about a hundred dollars. so, based on that, the scale between each edition should only be 20-25$ difference.
  19. so, i know that threads have come up occasionally about this, but i figured i'd start another one. windows 7 will release on oct. 22, 2009. it will release in several editions, each offering different limitations and at different price points. it will be significantly more backwards-compatible than vista was, and will feature a streamlined interface with improved networking, folder filing, and fewer user notifications. i'd suggest checking out wikipedia's articles on features that are new to the OS and features that have been removed. editions confirmed as of now (pasted from wikipedia): now, i know i'm not the only one who worshiped the beta and release candidates when they were available. anyone else out there have experience with this, or is planning on picking it up on day one like me? via edge: HOLY CRAP!
  20. how long is each episode? edit: no, shaun, it should be on the psp. and the n-gage.
  21. this took place way before the clone wars. i'd prefer to think that the clone ships were modelled after these, not the other way around.
  22. thank goodness SOMEONE knows me a little bit =) does anyone know how to recognize sarcasm?
