  1. not as expensive as you think, nowadays. browse the net with a netbook laptop (like an eee pc), or a cheap box that you threw together. can do it for 300$ or less nowadays.
  2. fuck yes! finally! we can argue music theory in person! you're drumming for our nights thing. where are you staying?
  3. cute picture, guys. i'm still planning on bringing my wedding pictures, jill. i think you'll really like them.
  4. does ANYONE have the original knights of the old republic game, for pc or xbox (pc preferred, but whatever). no one's got it, and i can't find my discs for the life of me.
  5. hawt. i'm definitely going to have parts for 'nights nights', so we'll definitely be able to use you in there =)
  6. will he be ready for mag? or not really? =(
  7. didn't that happen repeatedly?
  8. so, what's the official american name for the tales release on the psp? so i can get it from stupid gamestop people, of course. is it tales of eternia? you naming fiends confuse me.
  9. heck yeah. i'll actually bring my trunks this year. last year the hot tub was all the irc cats and the cool kids were poolin it up. except dave. steve (local friend from undergrad) and i are planning on getting in around 3:30 or so. PREPARE TO BE ROCKED.
  10. edited, it's correct now. ebb and flow, you know. confirmed new features? they cloned the mac dock, made the ribbon menu system from office 2007 standard for all major windows programs (like paint and the like), and they're beefing up the performance-related features of the os so that standard copy-paste actually works all the time now.
  11. i'm still in, but i never heard from norg about auld lang syne.
  12. new benchmarking data. looks pretty inviting. i can't wait to build a monster system in honor of it (which is what i'm planning to do, i'm already saving for it). i've got the beta version that's out on the web as well and have been fooling with it. no games run on it, but it looks really nice. doesn't have the ribbon control, but is running windows ie 8 beta, which is also pretty good.
  13. i think he means bullshit, but that was an uncharacteristically not-nice post from him. maybe he was just drunk or something.
  14. so, was tales of eternia any good?
  15. and you had it last all year. that's actually really kind of cool - you could almost schedule it for a certain time each month =)
  16. you could have just subscribed to the thread and not posted, you know.
  17. i had one of these a while back (not this year) in freelancer, where i basically flew through an entire system of corsairs (best pilots in the game) all flying titans. i was in a freighter...the bretonian one, whichever that was. it was horribly hard, but i managed it (barely).
  18. mirror's edge? at least, i think so.
  19. i guessed that, man.
  20. that's what i thought. both of my 'top' moments came in the beginning few months of the year. i think l4d's a little too fresh in most people's minds. i should add 'beating freelancer in a freighter on the expert setting' as one of my greatest achievements this year, but that's not really a moment, that was a labor of love
  21. i had a couple of them. crysis at maximum for the first time was one (i saw bullet holes in the leaves!). finishing hitman 4 on the hardest difficulty was another. buying a 360, radical dreamers being released (and no one cared), fable II and gears II being released, and some halo parties with my old roomie. top gaming moment? i don'tknow for sure. radical dreamers was a really big deal for me, even with all the issues that came with it. but i'd have to say that sitting down and beating halo 3 with my old roomie on legendary in one sitting was the culmination of my gaming year. pathetic, i know.
  22. lies, don't encourage that seph kid. all his posts are in this thread, and he's already a balrog
  23. having come back from a honeymoon a few months ago, i can guarantee that you don't want to room with other people on a honeymoon. guarantee it. particularly gamers. according to my wife, we 'smell funny'.
  24. because there are other kinds of hacking...?
  25. i've got a shell extension called 'foldersize' that just functions as another column in windows explorer. lets you see how big each folder is. it's worth trying out.
