  1. I'm still waiting on an OCR thong. I know cloth is the way promotional printing goes but you REALLY ougtha spring for something in a rubber or latex. Leopard print if you can swing it. I'll pm you my exact measurements.
  2. djp will change the shirts when he changes his sig. Million Dollar Baby - 2004 (eep.)
  3. Maybe I didn't look hard enough... but what's going on with shirts? In general, am I the only one keen on buying more or is there a decent amount of interest here? I see that the hoodies are in stock and the shirts are not. What was the story there again? I'm not pimping OCR with my wardrobe anymore because both of my shirts became unwearable. I had two. TWO. Now I have none. Why won't you take my money OCR!?
  4. Another solid episode on cut scenes. BIG fan of seeing an ocr url on the video's page. Really good news all around. Is EC thinking of selling shirts? Perhaps an inspired word or two on the chest on the topic of games? I'd buy.
  5. Makes me want to make something that gets posted on OCR just for the chance that it gets used in EC.
  6. Quick message just to say that once again, EC leaves my heart full, challenged, and VERY very satisfied. James really knocked it out of the park with that story... and knowing the back-story of Taucer's song at the end, well, I'm holding back tears even as I type this. The depth of the hopefulness from both stories was tangible. I want so much for this medium, and the weight of your influence is still so important. I really can't stress enough how 100% behind you guys I am. When the EC forums go up I'll be there. Keep fighting the good fight. Looking forward to these announcements. EDIT: I meant to add this too. Timing seems appropriate. The leader of the NDP, Canada`s official opposition, lost his battle with cancer this week. He was a good Canadian and an inspiring figure... but possibly the most profound and inspiring thing he`s done was submit this post-mortum letter to Canadians. It ends like this:
  7. Sucks about my tech hiccup. It was a long shot. Say what you will though, I consider 6 vids a decent turnout. Very glad to see this challenge is going strong. Stevo, you definitely should co-ordinate with Amy next time. It would be better for everyone that way now that ocad is live. Last thing we need within the OCR community is squabbling over competing for the same time block. That's just unnecessary.
  8. Hit an interesting snag... apparently if I take long video clips (ie: 4 minutesish of my 5 minute cap) the file size triggers an I/O error when I try and move it off my camera. Can't say it's unfair considering a 4 minute, uncompressed, 720p clip off my camera is over 400MB, but it still makes certain footage inaccessable. I have a few ideas about how I might still be able to deal with this issue, but it might wind up being the thing that sinks me this round. We'll see.
  9. Maybe I can do one with 0 effort tomorrow. Maybe.
  10. Hey Dan. I just lost a long response, which works out well cause you are probably tired of reading them anyway. Quick anecdote from today at work in the kitchen. I mentioned I liked a busboy's Zelda shirt and we got to talking about gamers on the Internet. When I mentioned that you guys fell into contractual trouble with the Escapist he was really bummed about the news too. He not only knew of your show, he cited how much he loved your comparison of God of War to a Greek Tragedy. He got really passionate about how great of a show EC is, and I didn't even know the guy was a gamer. I'll keep it simple. I, like many, am behind you 100% and anxious to know if there is ANY way we can positively respond. Energy, time, money... our individual resources... any way we can pitch in. I know I'm not alone when I say you guys are like heroes to us. You're giving us gamers a well-spoken voice, an important message. You've been making us all THINK, and your considerable time and effort has not been in vain. It STILL isn't. Please let us know what can do. Seriously.
  11. This is some of the most retarded and effective trolling I've ever seen.
  12. Hey guys. Curious if we might want to do a catch-all thread for something like this. It's not really a meet-up thread as much as an 'I've got a good place to crash if you want' thread. At the end of the month, Toronto will have FanExpo. brentalfloss is among the guests and he'll also be putting on a show the night before at a local bar. I bet some people 'round these parts were thinking of going to either but don't have the money to waste on a hotel room. I could potentially host some lovely nerd-folk if you don't mind late night video-games or crashing on the ridiculously comfy couch. I've got great facilities in my building and I really love hosting people. Let's call it the OCR-member couch surfing network. Also not opposed to a little good karma.
  13. Sorry, didn't read much, maybe I missed something... Wasn't this supposed to be that crazy advanced portable with the multiple touch screens and other crazy stuff?
  14. I'm having issues with my hangouts, and google chrome, and my computer in general. After a reformat I hope to get all over this.
  15. Well I hope I'm not the only one to contribute to the thread. Because if you find anything else I'd love to check it out.
  16. Well you've been a little unspecific about what it is you want short of perhaps opinions so I'll give you mine. Rambling rant GO! Music & Rhythm based games can be split into 3 distinct categories in my mind. A) The reactive, as you've called it, where, as far as I can tell, the input/challenge is roughly and loosely determined by the intensity of the song as it has been 'scanned'. These are my least favourite because I find myself a stickler for things being 'on the beat' or specifically, for lack of a better word, choreographed. When the computer scans the song it's just looking for peaks or it's own, possibly off, BPM and the like. It seems, I dunno, somehow too disrespectful to the music to me. What I inaccurately call 'Bemani'. (Konami's always done it better in my mind, fuck you Red Octane.) Scripted input stuff to songs that are either from the game, licensed, or of your own design. The most work, but notably the most enjoyable for song-by-song basis because the scripting can become notorious (ie: Can you beat Max 300?) C) Music based games outside of A or B. Simon says style Parappa/Um Jammer Lammy or the kind of thing that Gaijin has been doing with the Bit Trip series. Good and more drawn out tunes they made and scripted themselves which your input has a limited amount to do with. Much more experiential. These are also different from B because they're not individual minute and a half long songs as much as the core of each game itself. What I'm still waiting for is game(s) which exist in-between. One of the few examples which come to mind is that in a level of Mario Galaxy 2, platforms appear/disappear every 4 beats. It's the only example (short of perhaps bit trip runner) I can think of of rhythm-based platforming, and I would love to see a game design based solely around having to strictly choreograph your platforming in order to NOT DIE. Anyway. I adore music games and I think we've still only scratched the surface of the genre's potential.
  17. Jeez... from the sounds of Brentalfloss' review of magfest and the jamspace on OCAD it sounds like they might need two rooms.
  18. I've got one great idea that I really want to do, and I've got volunteers to make it happen, but it might not pass youtube guidelines and I don't know if I want to risk it...
  19. Season 9!? Jesus. I stopped watching at 3. Is it still good?
  20. Dude, wtf... S'cool and all but you need not be so vague. I think I speak for all of us when I say: What music from where? Yeah link us. Good to hear of the success, and please try to make an OCR vid anyway.
