  1. The question isn't whether than game can, but whether the plugin can. Besides, the current achievements just need to register that the player is already rocket jumping when it happens, not that they start rocket jumping after the fact. One is a boolean check, the other involves keep track of past actions.
  2. Or, one that's completely untrackable, kill a Spy as you begin a rocket jump. And yes, I've been killed by a rocket jumping soldier before.
  3. I noticed when I was on last night that my ping went below 100 for the first time in the past month, since my ISP screwed up my ping times. Also, achievements... I'll come up with some later. I'm eating dinner first.
  4. I think I would have gotten that one earlier today. I feigned death a lot during offense on gravel pit. I didn't die for real until we were working on point C. Oh, plr_pipeline, too. I didn't realize how useful that is on the cart, since you keep regenning. Also, hardest roll ever on Dustbowl earlier today.
  5. We have a limited amount of control, but I don't recall if I wrote down the password somewhere to edit it (Bahamut has it too, of course). I ended up fixing the teleporter and Sandman daily awards a while back, as they were broken (Valve renamed the Sandman in kill events from bat_wood to sandman, or something like that). Unfortunately, as for the server, I'm not sure what's wrong with it, and I'm also not feeling that well. I think FireSlash is going to open a ticket with GameServers to take a look at it. I glanced at the Sourcemod forums, but didn't see any reports of crashing because of it. A standard check I make when the server breaks.
  6. The problem with melee-only is that it's rarely if ever voted on. In fact, I've never seen an actual vote for it. I've heard people say to do it in voice chat, and possibly in text chat, but never a vote, and never ever in the majority.
  7. I guess I just have problems with kicking/banning people who are actually, you know, playing the game and not breaking any rules. Especially banning them, as Sourcemod still doesn't have some sort of GUI for removing them. Incidentally, if the SourceBans mod does, we should look into installing it. If it requires a MySQL server, both FireSlash and myself have access to them on our respective web servers.
  8. No, there really was one who threatened to ban people over it. I just don't remember who it was... didn't think it was Dhsu, though.
  9. A long time ago, certain admins (before the cleanup) were threatening to ban people who wouldn't melee on 2fort.
  10. As a general reminder, I have a standing threat that I'll remove the admin powers of any admin who bans someone because they won't melee or the like. I'm not saying that you did that, but I need to put out this reminder every 50 pages or so. I sound like I'm repeating myself, but: 1. It's a custom mod that they aren't releasing to the public. You can play it on their servers, but not on your own. 2. It's a suckier version of the Prop Hunt mod for Garry's Mod. In the GMod version, you can clone any prop in the game; the TF2 mod forces you to be a single prop at round start. Which really sucks if you get the Control Point prop.
  11. You can create backup copies through Steam to burn to disc. You can even backup multiple games at once, but chances are that if they were l4d and any Orange Box game, you'd still need two DVD-Rs, or one dual layer DVD-R. (DVD-R could be either DVD-R or DVD+R)
  12. Just in case we do have the Alltalk decision go through, I've changed the ads file around so that the Alltalk status appears every 6 minutes or so.
  13. Seems like I had that problem on a client machine with TF2 before. I'm not surprised it happens with L4D on the server side.
  14. I get these problems occasionally. It's usually a high packet loss between your ISP and the server's ISP. Shortly after you left, nearly everyone got disconnected from the server as well.
  15. Two problems with this that I can think of (well, 3 actually): 1. Sourcemod (rightfully) won't let you do votes during Waiting For Players, which is when Pregame Mayhem happens. 2. I'm unaware of a mod to force a vote once a map, which means someone would have to manually start one during the first Setup period/Round on a map. 3. Larger maps take exponentially longer to load on some computers than others. It's not uncommon to have people still joining during the Setup round. I thought I had four reasons, but I must have had two that overlapped or forgot what the last one was while typing this.

  17. Hey, I've been wondering, is this server associated with any Steam groups? Our Steam group IDs are: Older: I don't have edit access to the Group's Profile, so I can't see the group ID either. Newer: 857806
  18. You really need to read the fine print for those unlimited deals. Some of them throw in nasty terms, like requiring that 50% or more of your bandwidth has to be from pages (rather than binary files).
  19. Yeah, but in the GMod version, you can change which prop you are... or more specifically, copy an existing prop in a map!
  20. I actually thought about forcing a scramble on hoodoo at the very start of the map before setup even ended, because the nQa guys were talking about "steamrolling" before the map even began. I hate to say it, but the hide and seek mod is an inferior version of the Garry's Mod Prop Hunt gametype.
  21. I don't know if you need FTP access for HLStatsX CE, but there's a user in the GameServer's control panel that has been set up with just FTP access to the server. I was thinking about testing Psychostats LiveStats thing, but I didn't want to try it on our server in case it broke something.
