  1. mix #996 . Sounds kinda cool Anyways, here's the pre-launch sequence to the song, for you dorks who really want to know. (Man I'm bored!) Internal power to enable External power to disable Primary weapons to enable Secondary weapons to enable and prime Astrogation systems to enable Life support to enable Deflector shields to enable and prime Targetting systems to enable Alpha interface to enable Beta interface to prime Twin lasers to enable Nova bombs to prime Star-flight mode to enable All-range mode to prime All systems go-- --Acknowledged. All systems are go. ARwings primed and ready. Launch. --Wing Edit: To Vortex: the second song is from the "blueprint" section of the game. After you win, the game will show you the model and stats of all the bosses you faced in that particular route. The repeating bassline and some synths are from that "blueprint" section.
  2. *This is my first review on OC* I'll be the first to admit I'm very easy to please, but very hard to impress. I enjoy virtually all the songs on this site, but there are a select few I truly treasure. This would be one of those few. I could comment on every little thing that impresses the hell out of me in this mix, but sadly, I wouldn't know where to begin. All I know is that Vigilante has instantly made his way into my musical heart with this mix. I think Zebesian Midnight will easily cement Vigilante as a top tier mixer on OC, if for no other reason than the simple fact that he took a chance. --Wing
  3. Panzer Dragoon Orta -- The gigantic warship in the 8th level (I think) took me soooo long to beat, simply because his second form has this electric field jazz dealy that was really hard to avoid... But once you switch to glide wing and hit up and down really quick... he's a breeze --Until you get to the final boss! It's second form tears my ass up because it has an undodgeable attack (as near as I can figure). It simply seems to mock all your hard work by presenting you with a nigh-undefeatable attack. *Sigh*, I suppose I must rent the game again. Vagrant Story -- Any boss battle that was determined on how well you could deflect half of a fatal attack at any given moment. Practically every boss fight with a magic user was russian roulette between you and the circle button. *shudder* Any end boss to a King of Fighters game The end guy to Last Blade 1... 2 I can handle Mario Sunshine -- The eel boss at the bottom of the waterfall. Good god... why do the japanese hate us soooooo?!! I think that's about it. Ohhh the horror.. --Wing
  4. Um.... incidentally, this song was posted on my birthday, 9-24-81. Yay for me. I'm 21! --j.a.
  5. Hmmm... I haven't listened to this one in awhile -- been busy with some more up-tempo projects. But as I recall, the drums were simply there for energy and the strings, for atmosphere. I think at the time, my reasoning was if any one of those supplements got too intense, it would take focus away from the piano, which is the focus of the piece (for reasons for path quality, source material, my aptitude for the piano, etc). So, why the arguably too-soft drums and strings? It'd be distracting. . . . That's my excuse anyways. I remember being in love with the mix right before submitting it. Now, I honestly can't say I enjoy it that much. Feh. I treat my songs like ho's, and as a great man once said, "bitch, we don't love dem hoes". I think it was Hobbes. --j.a. a.k.a. Da Wangless
  6. Yeah, funny story. This was an experimental version, and I had submitted it thinking with all the confidence my little brain could muster that it was the version where there were no breaks... well, nothing so extreme and pointless. But evidently, it wasn't. I petitioned to have this mix removed, especially since it had been two, maybe three months, and this was the first song of mine to get posted. Actually, I was pissed (yeah, I'll admit it) that this was the first song people had to equate with me, rather than Aphrodite Oceanus. But ah well, c'est la vie. With every song you make, you climb one more rung up that bitch-ass ladder.
  7. dude... that's nasty... But think about this... how cosmic would it be to make out with a girl to a song YOU WROTE??? Paradoxical...
