'aight then, I guess I'll go ahead and buy this tomorrow (today, technically). That is, October the 15th (Thursday). Edge and K-wix, if you guys want to go ahead and paypal 33.75 to biggiantcircles AT gmail DOT com that'd be awesome. And PM me your Steam ID's if I'm not already your friend on there. Edge, I think you're on my list already, but couldn't hurt to PM me anyway. I'm too lazy to check right this sec. Remember to Paypal using the *gift* option or whatever, so Paypal doesn't take out a fee or some garbage. Thanks fellers.

Left 4 Dead 2 Scam! Watch out!
big giant circles replied to The Damned's topic in General Discussion
No doubt. Although, I can't believe people still fall for this crap. -
Eh, I liked the older version better. Sorry. NO. I keed, I keed. This sounds great man. Don't immediately recall the old version since it's been a while, but I almost prefer to evaluate this with that kind of re-fresh perspective. There's lots of cool and fun ear candy going on, and I think the EQ sounds great. If the Matrix and the James Bond franchise had a baby, and there was a ninja/spy fight scene in that movie, this should be the soundtrack. Source relativity remains thoroughly intact, and the execution is groovy. Third try is indeed a charm. Also, I think since you mentioned that you felt that the mix is not as much "your" song now as much as "everyone else's", I think that while it's good to stay *true to yourself* and all that, it's also important to learn the art of objectivity in your music. There's a difference between writing to accommodate someone else's feedback, and being a *sellout*. (I "like" to put "things" in *stars* or *quotes* in this "vote" it *seems*). It's OK to let others influence your music from time to time, but that doesn't have to mean that the mix is no longer yours or anything. And it's cool that you acknowledge that it's helped you to grow as a musician. YES I feel like we've all learned a little something here today. This mix was brought to you by the letter Y, and by Honey-Nut Cheerios.

Well, in all fairness it's not really accurate to generalize it so entirely. There's hundreds of presets, and there's bound to be a ton that don't require much or any tweaking at all to get to the level that his examples are on. Plus, with the Kore soundpack, you already have 8 pre-programmed sub-sounds to morph between from the original sound, and each of those 8 sounds has 8 pre-assigned knobs that are also super duper easy to tweak without even having to worry about "learning" Absynth. The Kore soundpack route is probably the cheapest and most beginner-friendly, IMO.

Eh, dunno about the other two, but Omnisphere for sure. If you don't feel like spending $480 or so, then maybe check out Absynth Twighlights for like $59 or so. Heck, you might even just dig around the free Kore player, it may have a few decent pads if you don't have any money at all to spend. But otherwise, anything with the name Absynth in it would have something for you I think for less money.

Breakdown: All three tracks are boss themes, the final sequence of this game is like a bunch of boss battles (sort of) with tracks 28 and 29 being the Final battle, parts 1 and 2. 0:00 - 0:16 (referencing track 29) 0:16 - 0:40 (track 28 intro and the arpgeggio from 24 overtop) 0:40 - 2:00 (melody is pretty much verbatim 28 with a few flourishes for color) 2:00 - 2:16 (strings are adapted melody reprise from 28 ) 2:16 - 2:48 (track 24 arp) 2:48 - 3:20 (synth solo overtop source chord progression. mostly original but makes tentative reference to the main melody of 28 ) 3:20 - 3:36 (back to verbatim source 28 ) 3:36 - 3:52 (modified melody from 28 ) 3:52 - end (all 3 sources being referenced here). This is for Joker's Boss Themes Project FYI. Notable notations that are noteworthy: Symphonic choirs, look at me go I just programmed 'em to say gibberish, I don't remember exactly, mainly just stuff like "Mee NO Da LO Oompa Loompa La La" for all it's worth. Long as it sounds epic-ish. Also, this track was made for a guitar lead. Um, enjoy?

Not having to deal with the clutter of 70+ boxes is one of the strong reasons I prefer the download system. I mean, I'm not anti-hard copy or anything. I just personally prefer to have a mobile/modular digital system lately. I'm also cool with "well, I really love this game, and want to have something tangible to look at and read/touch/make out with" -

Personally I don't really see the point of buying hard copies of games anymore if you don't have to. -
Yeah, I should know for sure probably tomorrow or by the latest sometime this week. He already pre-ordered for 360 at Gamestop (like $65! geez!), but I called him and told him about the group buy, and he was like "Oh man, eff that, I'll go there tomorrow and see if I can cancel it". But otherwise, it's looking like we have 3/4 at this point. BGC BGC bro-in-law EdgeCrusher

Use a bile bomb on a tank? Reviving dead survivors? Dang man, this has seriously got me pumped again. All the douche bags who are boycotting this game are going to get it anyway and then love it, and they're all gonna feel like morons. Dang, I'm stoked after reading that list!
