  1. Decided to try something different than what I usually do so I jumped into making a "Jerkin Type Beat": http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10362387&q=hi&newref=1 I don't usually listen to this genre so I don't really know if this came out good, average, or bad; what do you think of it?
  2. Hi all, I recently put up a new track and thought I'd share it here to see if I could get any impressions. It came from playing a ton of Fable II a few weeks ago, which put alot of bright fantasy imagery in my mind that I had to get out of my system. I imagined an explorer making his home in an uncharted land in the chilly north. Feedback/impressions are always welcome. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/396537
  3. So I did an electronic/metal type cover of "Hold It Against Me". It's not perfect but hey I tried. Check it out I'll post a soundcloud link later, for now, suffer with youtube. Muahahaha
  4. http://soundcloud.com/aires/star-heaven 1:15 min Read my Sound Cloud comment. I forgot to add that i kinda did the solo first then make the track from scratch, it was gunna be a Rayman BandLand remix, but hay . (im not trying to copy steve vai, i just happen to make the track symphonic since its made up completly with modes, and not feel that i have wasted 32 gigs on Orch samples)
  5. Did this one a little while back. Touched it up here and there and now I'm finally happy with it. I'll say it now: This is not a submission to OC Remix as it isn't up to their standards, but if you know me, I'm not aiming for those to begin with. With that said, please do enjoy it. Any and all comments are also welcome. - - - Song: "Ridley Theme" Game: "Super Metroid" Remix By: Gavin MacLean Midi Basis By: King Meteor Listen to it here! Download it here!
  6. This is a Final Fantasy Fan Game Song I call "Suite of Essence". It's an RPG Maker game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3g1xDsMbMI
  7. Yuh yuh yuh yuh. That's how it does. Driving around, listening to rap music and shooting all the jobs. http://soundcloud.com/kiddcabbage/kidd-cabbage-the-hive-cluster
  8. Hey there folks. I was hoping I could get a bit of an assessment on this piece I've been working on. And here it is: http://soundcloud.com/times-orphan/tactical-persuasion-v3 For those interested, here's a bit of background rundown. I've been conscripted by a couple of friends to do some music for a CompSci project they're working on (their semester project, which is to make a video game. They're going a bit above and beyond the call of the project, which is cool). I've only just recently gotten into trying my own hand at working with a music studio, but since I've always been the musically inclined one of the bunch, they figured I made the most sense. So, since I hang around here a lot, admiring everyone's works of love and labor, it seemed most appropriate to get feedback from the people I feel I can most trust to give me a fair and accurate rundown of what they think. The project itself is supposed to be reminiscent of Final Fantasy, and likely won't exceed the graphical or artistic scope of FF1 or 2. From what I've seen, the guys are taking many mechanical cues from the series as well. For this reason, much of my music does not necessarily have to be more than MIDI quality...but, just like the guys are doing, I'm attempting to go above and beyond the minimum requirements. So, thoughts? I really appreciate any input you folks can give me!
  9. SOURCE: ARRANGEMENT: http://soundcloud.com/timotayo/castle-brittania-5000xx I had this game in my old NES catalogue and stuff. But that is besides the point: I tried to go a more trip-hop/dub/electronica route this time... somewhat less retro, though it is still there, I believe. So here you go. It travels places. I hope I can get some feed-back. I might submit, but we will wait and see...
  10. I never really got feedback specifically about this song. I know it's a bit over the topic but it's technically the first song I've ever written and finished: http://tindeck.com/listen/wqkh
  11. Let me just say.......I hate rpg games. Except for the Xenosaga trilogy I really don't like them. A friend of mine said I should make the Wild Arms theme into a metal song. So I made this I don't really plan on expanding upon it but what do you all think? Youtube cuz soundcloud isn't wanting to work =(
  12. So I decided to record a piano improvisation I did, wonder if anyone would be willing to take a listen and comment on it? It's pure spontaneity so there are some parts which may sound a little odd (+ I get nervous when recording haha), so yeah, forgive those parts
  13. Yeah it's been done before but meh whatever. This is one of Earth's most repetitive songs I swear....... Anyway I came up with this electronic thing and then picked up my guitar and played the main riff did some solos etc. and this is what I got. Oh yeah and I used a synth to harmonize with the vocals a bit in the chorus. I also ask a question with this remix. When you were a teenager, or if you still technically are (like me). What was your dream? At night, guitars, being a less crappy musician and hot girls are all I dream about. Not necessarily in that order. Let me know what ya'll think of this here tune as well.
  14. http://soundcloud.com/aires/bordum-2-the-bord-step-edition YYYYAAAAAAHHHH *Warning* not boredom, also this may make you as bored as me. and Congrats your now as bored as i am hahahah suckersssss.....
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwdouQfFOZo I think it's alright, but I'm not sure if It's good enough for OC remix, I need some criticism Everything you need to know should be in the description.
  16. Hey all, I registered on this forum not too long ago so this thread will be my first post on here. Ive been making beats for a good many years now but have recently gotten more serious about my intentions in music and transitioning from making beats into producing tracks etc locally. I fell in love with sampling and remembered Grim Fandango had an awesome soundtrack and story... and everything, so I gave it a shot. I hope this thread puts in a good premiere for myself on this board and i hope to continue being a part of it. Each song is done in relatively the same format of having an intro, 16 bar verse, and chorus etc. Although they have the ammends for verses, i do not plan on having anyone rap over these Here are the tracks: Blue Hector - Ninth Heaven - Enlightened Florist - Manny and Meche - Coaxing Meche - Swanky Maximino -
  17. http://tindeck.com/listen/pgxp Made this to test an arpeggio plugin for a project. Ended up being an actual song(kinda) so I decided to plug in the 4 notes from space invaders into it and make a remix of some sort out of it. Not actually going to do that much with it, but if you could comment on the arpeggio and stuff, it would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Okay so, I've been going on about how there's lots of free resources out there on teh interwebs, but never really put it to a test. Until now. teh remix I wanted to see how it'd sound without using my more pro skills and tools. Sequenced by hand in Logic. I tried stuff out on my keyboard but wrote them by mouse, no humanizing. Basically, this should be possible* to reproduce exactly in any AU-compatible DAW, and with the exception of some of the effects I used, any VST-compatible DAW as well. *theoretically, not practically. All instruments and effects are free plugins, I used none of Logic's built-in ones for this. Addictive Drums demo and Kore for the drums and percussion, TAL's NoiseMaker for the arpeggio chords, Elek7ro II for the bass, Ticky Clav for the e-piano, u-he's Triple Cheese for the lead, and FreeAlpha for a couple of backing things. Among the effects, KResearch's delay and reverb, and LFX-1310 are used on about half the tracks. Questions, comments, crits welcome. I don't think I'll do anything more to it, but feel free to pick it apart and crit everything for practice or whatever.
  19. Don't have enough "happy" tracks so I made this sample beat the other day: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10339594&q=hi&newref=1 Came out sounding like some Kanye West type summer beat. It's meant to be a mixtape track with no hook; just two straight verses. What do you think of it?
  20. http://soundcloud.com/aires/boredum This track was really made from boredum. *note the songe is not called boredom*
  21. Hello everyone, my name is Michael Levi and I'm a Commercial Music major here at Florida State University in my senior year. I am currently taking lessons with the head of the Commercial Music department and he's pushing me in the direction I want to go, that is, wanting to produce music for video games. This semester he has been making me take short 1-2 minute clips from video games and rewrite the music over them with original music. I already have some clips that I've rewritten and uploaded so far on my youtube account: - Game clip is Arni Village from Chrono Cross - Game clip is just a trailer from an Initial D game - Game clip is the Halo 2 title screenand lastly - This is the animated opening to Megaman 8!!(sorry about the sound quality, youtube tends to do that) If you'd like to check them out that would be great. This is just demo material that I would eventually send off to a video game company. I would also like to ask if there is anyone who knows how to get into the video game industry as a composer. This will be my career of choice and I am proud to make that decision. Any comments/feedback is much appreciated. Thank you.
  22. Youtube Version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLufDtSnENw High Resolution Version: http://www.kongregate.com/collabs/sounds/Kamasenin/castlevania-1-vampire-killer-odyssey-2011?sort=by_newest I put this together for fun over the past week. This odyssey mix features vampire killer, stalker, wicked child, heart of fire, and poisoned mind. It's approximately 4:27 long. I hope you like it. Enjoy!
  23. Hey guys and girls, This is my first submitted work. I just finished my latest and final version of Battle Not Alone! A rearrangement of FINAL FANTASY IX Battle theme and Your Not Alone! A track influenced by epic soundtrack and trailer music. I made this back in 2009 but since i had time again for one of my biggest hobbies, music, i wanted to rework this one to make it more interesting. The most challenging was balancing out the metal and orchestra part. Both volume- and melody-wise. Im very happy that i managed to keep the volume on a punchy level without destroying it with loudness (+0db) Battle Not Alone! (Final Version) Genre: Soundtrack (Metal, Orchestra) Arranged by: Final FanTim Composed by: Nobuo Uematsu Game: FINAL FANTASY IX Tracks: Battle Theme, Your Not Alone Inspiration: Hans Zimmer, Thomas Bergeson (Two Steps From Hell, trailer music) (please watch on 480p or higher quality) Should i submit it to the OCRemix crew? I hope you enjoy and feedback is always welcome
  24. Greetings! I'm quite new to OCRemix, so I figured I would start things off with my first two original tracks. All these tracks are hosted at the Newgrounds Audio Portal for now. My sound font of choice is currently WinGroove Software Synthesizer V0.A4 "Industrial Ruins" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/378759 This is my first original tune and it was composed in a day after figuring out how to operate my MIDI-sequencing program, Music Studio Independence. If you ask me, this song would be fitting as the BGM for the ruins of an alien or advanced civilization. What wonders will you discover? What horrors await you in the dark, metallic depths? "Reploid Deployment" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/390747 This song is inspired by the SNES Megaman X games. If you ask me, it would be pretty good as the intro stage to one of these games. I've actually had this tune in my head for several years, but I only recently figured out how to sequence my own MIDI files. Constructice criticism is appreciated, especially as I still have a lot to learn when it comes to working with MIDI files. I hope you enjoy my first compositions.
  25. Hey! Reunion Netlabel is where you find free electronic music, released at a steady pace, with HQ music from many people from this community, but also from the net label/demo scene/music scene in general. Check us out, OK!? http://reuniverse.org (170+ FREE tracks!) -.------------------------------------------------------------ This is the last remix we post on Reunion for this february spam thing we just did. It had to be done, so don't hate. Jonatonic is Myself while working in Pro Tools (this is completely new news, really, even to myself). I decided a long time ago that "Platonist" would only refer to my impulse tracker based music. hence, this release needed another pseudonym. My lecturer composed the original for us to remix as an assignment at the university where i study the arts of music production. the result was cool, i decided to release it as a bootleg. have fun! http://reuniverse.org http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/rnx/rnx009%20-%20Patrik%20Ahlm%20-%20Midiarr3%20(Jonatonic%27s%20Traveller%20reNix).mp3
