  1. I have 4 versions of this one song, I'm planning to make a final mix of it, but currently I'm not sure what version of it is best. In your opinion which one do you like the most or see the most potential from: Original: (I'm gonna replace the vsti guitar with a real one) Orchestral lead (violin): I might replace the violin with another orchestral lead Leadless: Leadless w/ distorted bass:
  2. This remix was actually done a while back. Considering it's age (I was still very new to remixing at the time) I decided to polish it up a bit before uploading it. Either way, take from it what you like. Above all, enjoy. - - - Song: "Brinstar Overgrowth" Game: "Super Metroid" Remix By: Gavin MacLean Midi Basis By: Jay Reichard Listen to it here! Download it here!
  3. I'm trying to make this like a battle theme, like something from final fantasy or kingdom hearts. Any advice?
  4. Hi everyone, I just uploaded a new video with a song that I'll be releasing in Japan sometime in the future under my new label. The name of the song is Tada Hitotsu Tsutaetai〜ただ一つ伝えたい It's a sad love song ballad style. A very simple video; I just wanted something to go with the song's mood. Anyways, check it out if you can. Feedback's fine too. Thanks, Jovette Rivera www.JovetteRivera.weebly.com
  5. Finalized a beat I've been working on with scratches: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1108266 Going for a nice old school feel with it, what do you think of it?
  6. I think I might be getting the hang of FL Studio. ...well, using the Piano Roll, at least. Anyway, this is a retooling of a song I wrote a while back, but this time I used FL and not Anvil. Significant difference in the quality, to say the least. It's pretty repetitive, and it takes a while to get going, but overall I'm proud of it.
  7. Tindeck link: http://tindeck.com/listen/ooyq Idea of combining these 2 songs came to me one day, they were in the same key and always stuck together in my head. Some parts from Man With The Machine Gun are completely removed, and I think I made pretty good work out of the rest. The drum loop kinda seems dull, but I tried giving it variety and it differed too much from my original idea. Hope you enjoy it
  8. So I'm trying my hand at something OTHER THAN POKEMON (for god's sake). This is probably my favorite Castlevania song. Remix (first 40 seconds or so): http://tindeck.com/listen/oqxu Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFAYyfMmIvQ Still needs a bit of leveling/EQ adjusting. I definitely intend on finishing this.
  9. Hey guys, I have to make a book trailer in my group for "Lord of the Flies" with my group. Being almost the only composer in my class, I volunteered to do the music for it. It's a wav: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15510436/File%20Sharing/LOTF%20Trailer.wav If enough of you ask I'll render an mp3. Just posting it here because I'm sure there's someone around here who remembers me as that horrible 13 year old remixer from the WiP Forums and I wanna say that I haven't been sitting around. Instruments used: Zebra 2 for... Pad 3xOsc for Sine Wave Steinway Grand Piano Soundfont Monster Staccatos Free String Staccato Library for Strings Everything else: Kontakt default libraries. (I'm starting to love pulling the trigger on the half-off deal, back in November, even more)
  10. Nope, not a resub of my previous attempt several years ago. Started this one a couple nights ago. It's still pretty rough and subject to MUCH change (synths, sections, possibly vocals, etc), but this gives the general idea: EDIT, NEW Final Version: All previous versions (v3 & on): http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?a=Nutritious OST: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0pFBWAMvo4
  11. Here is a fully arranged version of Ultima IX's Buccaneer's Den theme track. The main theme is realized throughout this short piece in a variety of ways. It's very short; it's actually a loop that is usable in the game Ultima Online as a replacement for the original audio. Cannon Blast (Ultima IX - Buccaneer's Den Remix)
  12. let me know what you think? they're both featured on a megaman remix compilation released by karakasa music, which can be downloaded here: http://www.archive.org/details/MegaManRenaissance
  13. Well, this is the first mix of this song. It is symphonic progressive metal with a lot of changeups. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10392359 Would love your thoughts (technical, artistic, content) on this song!
  14. "J-NVA CR-DMX LM-78 AKAI" Re-arrangement: FIRST draft: http://soundcloud.com/timotayo/j-nva-cr-dmx-lm-78-akai Revision: http://soundcloud.com/timotayo/j-nva-cr-dmx-lm-78-akai-second Source: EDIT (03-15-2011): new version posted! Changes detailed in later post... I decided with this one to go in an entirely different direction: 80s synth-pop and Euro-Disco, complete with analog pads and old drum machine sounds. I made a conscious effort to make it sound like Gino Soccio, New Order, and Giorgio Moroder but still unique, with sparkly keyboards going up and down, vocoded voices and speech synthesis. That being said, the source is used very liberally, allowing room for the rest of the piece which is a straight-up pop-electro-disco track. Contemplating submitting this...
  15. So I've decided to try out a new genre. Hard Funk (also called Funkot) Here is my first track. I hope you guys enjoy it http://soundcloud.com/djsymbiotix/all-the-funk-she-played
  16. Exactly one year late! http://theburningawesome.bandcamp.com/album/crunchy-beats-and-techno-treats Enjoy. (To download for free, type "0" in the price box.)
  17. This is a colab between me and my brother. He composed the orginal on Cakewalk as a .midi and the more I listened to it the more I could hear the different melodies. So I decided to flesh it out with some better sounds to really bring out his talent. The song was meant to be played in a video game he made for a friend for his birthday but I'm not sure if he ever completed it. He also has a bunch of other unfinished tracks running about 30-40 seconds long. Hopefully if he gets some positive feedback he'll actually complete them. So here it is! http://tindeck.com/listen/ojjo I apologize if my mastering doesn't give it justice.
  18. So, my second adventure on this forum shall be with this song, Mt. Blaze, from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue Rescue Team. Constructive criticism is requested. Enjoy. Listen here: http://tindeck.com/listen/rckg
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBqmhZA1nBY Check it out! The video quality is kinda shoddy since it's my first time doing this here, it will get better in the future I promise! Put it on 480p for higher bitrate, you want to do this trust me. Thanks for listening!
  20. The original version of this song is about 38 seconds long. My version has some new content added for your enjoyment. It's about 2:10 long. I hope you like it. Cheers! 21. Hey all, I registered on this forum not too long ago so this thread will be my first post on here. Ive been making beats for a good many years now but have recently gotten more serious about my intentions in music and transitioning from making beats into producing tracks etc locally. I fell in love with sampling and remembered Grim Fandango had an awesome soundtrack and story... and everything, so I gave it a shot. I hope this thread puts in a good premiere for myself on this board and i hope to continue being a part of it. Each song is done in relatively the same format of having an intro, 16 bar verse, and chorus etc. Although they have the ammends for verses, i do not plan on having anyone rap over these Here are the tracks: Blue Hector - Ninth Heaven - Enlightened Florist - Manny and Meche - Coaxing Meche - Swanky Maximino -
  22. Hi all, I recently put up a new track and thought I'd share it here to see if I could get any impressions. It came from playing a ton of Fable II a few weeks ago, which put alot of bright fantasy imagery in my mind that I had to get out of my system. I imagined an explorer making his home in an uncharted land in the chilly north. Feedback/impressions are always welcome. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/396537
  23. Remember the series Batman Beyond? It had a really killer soundtrack and it's making a comeback in comic book form. So I did a cover/remix thing of the theme. Check it out by clicking here, here, or here. Did I mention here?
  24. This remix is from the bonus track version of "Battle of the Holy" from Castlevania Legends. The original composition first appeared in Castlevania Adventure. I hope you like it. Enjoy! 25. I've been working on an album since last year called "Surreal Nightmares". I only have three songs done so far, as my other hobbies have been consuming my time . The album is rock/metal/progressive/instrumental with a dark/eerie theme and there is a backstory behind it. I'm trying to get back into working on the album again. Here's links to the songs done so far: Starless Night: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11540065/Dreambliss%20-%20Surreal%20Nightmares%20-%2001%20-%20Starless%20Night.mp3 Into the Darkness: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11540065/Dreambliss%20-%20Surreal%20Nightmares%20-%2002%20-%20Into%20the%20Darkness.mp3 Unnatural Disturbance: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11540065/Dreambliss%20-%20Surreal%20Nightmares%20-%2003%20-%20Unnatural%20Disturbance.mp3
