I know some of you from elsewhere on the internet, but for those who don't know me, I suppose the things most relevant to this community are that I write video game style music, and I'm Hale-Bopp's wife. :> Anyway, the music I'm going to share is mostly for people who loved the Super Nintendo era and have lots of nostalgia for its lo-fi sound. I used instrument samples from various SNES games to create these RPG-style tunes. I'm hoping to make a full album of music in this style eventually. And so I decided to grab this week's 8pack from AcidPlanet and throw this together. The theme was apparently funk, and, having just watched Shaft over the weekend, I felt pretty inspired to throw this together. There's pretty much no mixing or any finalization on this thing, and I don't really intend to do any. It was really just an experiment to see what I could come up with. Everything is either an instrument loop out of the 8pack, a free drum loop from somewhere else in the Sony Sound Series collection, or a neat little free electric piano VSTi that I use for a few licks. In co-op with DJ the S i worked on this Medley for about 2 weeks. It was pretty hard because of our Distance and it took alot of Time to Review every Single Change in the Mix but although it was funand a new experience for both of us. Have fun listening to our Result!

From my submission e-mail since I don't want to type it all over again: This actually started life as an original, as heard at my YouTube account ( http://www.youtube.com/user/Draconiator ) under the name "Evening Magic". I was messing around with it one day to see if I could do something cool with it, and in my head, I realized that the Zelda theme could be stuck in there. I had to be a bit creative with the melody, but after 2 hours of completely changing the melody, a Zelda mix popped out. So you've probably heard a draft of this if you were paying attention 3 months ago. I've done some tweaking to it, changed some rhythm and percussion parts, and finally wrapped up production on this piece. It's a progressive-ish metal take on "You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet" with a few melodies from the overworld and some other tunes thrown in (can you ID them all?).
