  1. A futuristic/electronic/funky/synth tune "composed" by myself. http://mordi.ziphoid.com/data/music/work_in_progress/funky_track.mp3 The lead-arrangement is a rough around the edges, and it's not a very complete song yet. It's like a prototype or demo of sorts.
  2. Aight, so I started work on this in...March, I think. Originally just a solo thing, Ben Briggs then insisted on adding stuff (he still has to, I only now just finished the song structure). Emunator may or may not add stuff as well. diotrans was originally going to have a part too, but instead of including a violin I decided to expand the lyrics more to make three verses and choruses, with a different end chorus. Lyrics (WITH EXTRA CHEESE!): Up in the sky Where radiance abounds There is a Luminous road Hearts race away Suspended seamlessly It is a Sight to behold We're on our way, let's go today because we might be the only ones to ever be Up off the ground, with arms around holding me tightly there's no where else I'd want to be The path is paved With colors filled with light They cast a Radiant glow No end in sight Now that you're here with me Let's chase the Eternal rainbow Forever long You've held your hand in mine Together Journeys unfold We've crossed the line While we would love to stay Our ride has Come to a close It's not the end, so don't pretend We've solved the mystery There's so much else that's left to see Across the stars, this world is ours The only reality There's no where else I'd want to be --------------------------- The whole thing is nearly source verbatim with the guitars playing the chord progression and the vocals carrying the melody. Basically this whole song is just me right now with the stuff from others coming soon! 3. Hello OCRemix Users ! I'm actually working on a Medley of a Castlevania Series , trying to regroup the best themes of the series on one . I've Already Done - Bloodlines Bequeathed ( Bloodlines ) - Gears Go Awry - Simon Theme - Sorrow Distortion - Dracula's Tears - Vampire Killer / Clock tower - A Version of Tower of Dolls All of those are done like a '' Rock Style '' With my Electric Guitar , Piano , And Double Bass Sometimes Please , write your tracks/style ideas , if necessary , i will post 1/2 pf my renditions Gears Go Awry http://www.partage-facile.com/TPKAOSAN31/gears_go_awry.mp3.html Tower of Dolls http://www.partage-facile.com/81DEQ58TRP/tower_of_dolls.mp3.html Cheers
  4. Source Material: (Littleroot town) and the beginning of (Verdanturf town) It's a remix of the theme of Littleroot town from Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby, done with mostly 8-bit sounding instruments and some drum samples. I've never done anything really at all like this on fl studio and learned a lot of things making the remix, which was really fun. Links: http://tindeck.com/listen/flfc http://soundcloud.com/shadefinale/lroot-wip-8 Please listen and leave constructive criticism/feedback, and thank you for listening to it.
  5. http://soundcloud.com/nima-djohari-taimouri/dan-a-do-encanamento-de Ok. So i envision this to become a dance friendly kind of samba, take the track to it's brazilian roots. This raw first draft is basically just some reharmonizations of the chord progression and some ideas with rhytm and mixing. What's your opinion about it? The original.
  6. music-career under 4 months long, do not expect too much http://tindeck.com/listen/vzgp
  7. http://www.box.com/s/e588fad7761d1934ce2f I've been asked to make a Generations-sounding version of "Aquarium Park" From Sonic Colours. (Something more so along the lines of a Modern Remix) I could really use some help on this one, as well as some good old fashioned critique. That piano is played so amazingly, it's hard to do it justice. I am really loving the vibe I'm giving it though. Comments and Crit are always welcome!
  8. Newest version: Using the Sibelius 7 orchestra sounds, should be a much better idea of what I'm after. Made some minor changes, such as muted trumpets for the slower A' section, as well as more articulation markings so players will have a better understanding of how it should go. Final section remains an "oh shit" moment for all involved. OLD: This got put in front of the group about two months ago but only very recently had the time to extract the recording we did of this. I think that some of this sounds really good, and some of it needs improvement, mostly via me giving better information to the players on what exactly I want. I have also come to the conclusion that this is too short, and so now I have the truly difficult task of 1) composing within the modern aesthetic of the piece but 2) not so modern that it'll totally wig out everyone at OCR. Old stuff: So, I've got a new thing up and going. The source material is pretty basic, but wow did it adapt well to the new format. At least, most of it did. The "A" section looks and sounds great (I can't wait until I get to put it in front of the group), but the "B" section is proving to be a major conundrum. I'm essentially limited to four instruments as the 16ths are moving way too fast for the trombone to play. Actually, it's borderline insane for the other instruments as well. Hopefully a little elbow grease will solve things (fingers crossed). Conceptually, this'll be the "Scherzo" movement of a collection of Metroid Miniatures (Metroid: other, other M)
  9. Been a while since I posted something. I finally got a new computer and, to go along with it, Sibelius 7. Fancy. So no longer will I be stuck using crappy MIDI samples, now I get to complain about how the guys they recorded didn't properly articulate the tenuto slurs. This hews pretty close to the source aside from some minor time signature alterations and rhythmic aids at the transitions for ease of performance, as well as a modulation at the end with a repeat of the Liber Fatali theme. Not quite sure how I feel about the end - I couldn't think of a way to climatically finish the piece and having it fade down to a minor chord (I guess the bad guys won) does kinda work. Anyway, I'll flying out to Chicago tomorrow so I might not be able to respond to everyone quickly.
  10. Hello, New mix of 600AD. I'm not sure what genre really - probably dubstep, even though I am way past being down with the kids enough to make that sort of music. Enjoy (it's not mastered yet) http://soundcloud.com/ellywu2/600adubstep-1
  11. Hey, I decided to give this classic tune a go... yes, a little cliche', I know... I'm pretty "green around the gills", so any critiques/suggestions are welcome... 13. Okay so, two big issues I've had a hell of a time conquering with recording my guitar is latency and a lack of mid range. I have made this little guitar cover of the mute city theme from F Zero GX as an attempt to fix those issues before I return to working on my Remix for the Castlevania remix album. http://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/f-zero-gx-mute-city-wip-2 How does it sound to you so far? Do the guitars cut through? How is the guitar tone? Also, here is the original version
  14. So, they thought I was cool enough to take on "Cross A Fear" for Vampire Variations 2. I finally have a WIP that I think is going somewhere. I was always inspired by the rock albums of Castlevania music in the 90s, so I did take inspiration from that. For the finished track, I hope to have live bass and get the track mixed/mastered by someone who has the right equipment and experience to do so. So if you wind up believing in this remix, perhaps you would be interested? Anyway, the original - My version thus far....http://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/face-the-fear-cross-a-fear
  15. http://soundcloud.com/aires/partially-sunny source is "can you feel the sunshine" from sonic R. This thread is hear because I'm about to do a "Air3s Experience " fix/edit on this remix What that means is that I'm making sound like my new production/mixing standard The last thread went badly with the "oh shit it's hardcore dubstep, screw this" and "I hate glitchy shit" And all that crap. This thread is for opinions on this track so when I see a good idea I will add it to the edit list. So please song opinions only, no genre opinions.
  16. www.soundcloud.com/aires/reverb-test Read soundcloud description. Not seriously anything but a reverb test. It is good on the lulz!
  17. Hello everyone! I'm currently working on an arrangement of one of my all-time favorite tracks from any videogame, which happens to be included in a little piece of art from 1994 called Dynamite Headdy for the Sega Genesis (by Treasure, what else needs to be said). This is what the original sounded like: http://youtu.be/aGSThT6CYMM And this is my initial take on it: https://www.box.com/s/d9c97d03f16898ec9f9c It's still in an early stage but I already recreated most part of the main melody and still staying faithful to the original. Drums are looped, a proper intro is missing, tons of details here and there and so on but I like how it's sounding so far, so I'm probably going to keep working on it and post it back here once it's finished. A bit of feedback is always appreciated and useful though, so if you have any comment about how great Treasure are, why did they leave Konami or even about this arrangement here, I'd be delighted to listen Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy!
  18. Hey guys, I'm posting this here...probably because I've got no hits on it right now, and don't really know that many places I could put it. I figured maybe one or two people would appreciate giving it a listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAh04xv-ato It's a full soundtrack outline to a Visual Novel RPG. It is very shadowy, in my opinion. As it's an outline, so much of the content is unfinished: some of it is just piano, some of it is 10 seconds long, while other songs are 2 minutes long. All of it is MIDI. It starts out with a main theme and an opening theme. It then delves into mellow/brighter songs, then into some battle tunes, back into some dramatic ones, and then finally ending with the final boss themes. There are a couple melodies in there that I am very proud of, and some songs that I feel could be much improved. There wasn't much of a focus on perfection. Right now, before the songs are remixed, I want to reoutline them, and use a particular set of samples so that it is much more consistent. These songs/melodies were compiled over a couple years, in a semi-passive fashion. It's 38 minutes long, so I figured if you're playing a game like an mmorpg or something, it'd be something new to listen to in the background, and it might help to inspire a bit. Thanks, Mark Hans Avon
  19. Hey OCRemix! First post here (be gentle, heh), I'd like to know what you guys think of Guile's Theme, a remix I just did today over the last 4 hours. I was having a bit of trouble getting rid of a crackly-poppy issue, which is usually compression, but it turns out it was a fault of my non-existent sound card. You still might hear some when the guitar harmony comes in, though. As well, the transition from intro->main is weird, any ideas? It seems way too abrupt and unexpected. I'm also thinking about lowering the volume of the arpeggios at the beginning, but I'm not sure. To not making just listening to it boring, I've included a link to a screenshot of the very messy workspace to watch while it plays (god, that sentence was atrocious). Just so you don't have to stare at a waveform. Just remember, everything goes with Guile's Theme! Thank you !
  20. This here'd be a remix of the credits theme 'Sorrow Long Day' from the Japanese version of Evil Zone for the Playstation. The game was an awesome anime fighter, that while not technical in the slightest, more than made up for the fact with plenty of spectacle. I've got a thing for B-grade fighters WIP Here: http://www.box.net/shared/0je2lm94qv WIP with test vox here: http://www.box.net/shared/55ssmftgyi Source Here: http://208.53.138.111/soundtracks/fuujin-ryouiki-eretzvaju-original-soundtrack/zrbxqlvenm/13-sorrow-long-day-ending-.mp3 Stevo has kindly agreed to partner with me, bringing his serious guitar talents to the mix. Thanks again man!!! I'm planning on this being a complete and utter throwback to the 80's... the best 80's anthem never heard, and it's coming along very well, I think! I only started this today, so it's fairly short at the moment, but all the basics are there... no guitar yet though! There's no real structure yet... it's only the intro and first chorus so far (which is repeated twice, though this will change). I am in the process of writing vocals for this, which I'll be performing myself. I hope to have them written and the majority of them recorded over the weekend. Lemme know what you think of it so far, and enjoy!
  21. So here is a little something I've been working on for about... I want to say a month now. In between work and other duties. I started learning in December so I'm still quite newby. Really is just a mish mash of ideas. Any feedback on what needs to improve would be most appreciated. Oh! And by the way I've been having trouble getting the sub bass right so it may be a little loud. (I hope not too loud ) http://soundcloud.com/ciredn/wip-untitled14
  22. Here is a cello arrangement of Distant Thunder, from Secret of Mana. It's one of my favourite songs from the game, and sits so nicely on the cello. I did transpose it a fourth down so that it would sound more "open." I also tried to apply music theory knowledge to this one. I'm pretty happy with the beginning, but not sure how to continue (like, what parts I should repeat/extend), or if there are any technical issues (like...does it sound okay?!). SO ANYWAY here it is on tumblr: http://umadashibayashi.tumblr.com/post/29644379579/distant-thunder-from-secret-of-mana-cello
  23. Grrr! I LOVE the source song sooo much! Done about 5 mixes but this is the first im really proud of Its a TOTAL WIP! I plan to extend it by about another minute, Need as much critique as I can get please! Inspired by the original Besaid theme, and KabukiBear from YouTube, and his amazing Besaid guitar cover. Sorry if the quality is shite, I really need a better way of converting my songs from reason. Any advice would be awesome on that front Thanks SO much in advance for your critique in advance guys I took alot of liberties with changing some of the keys, I hope no one minds? Edit: Come on guys Please post some critique. Gettin' needy here -Source Songs- V1.0 V1.2
  24. Yeah well, got inspired by someone talking about a second Maverick Rising in the album's comments and did this pretty quickly. It is not mixed but everything is tracked. I actually did not even check the volumes so it's straight like how it sounded when tracking lol. Hope you like it. W.I.P LINK
